Petaluma Lake RV Park (Military FamCamp), Petaluma, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful location and you can't beat the price. Concrete pads. We were in the spot next to the playground and it was level; looks like two others are but the other three are very uneven...two motor homes had front tires six inches or so off the ground on blocks. Drive slow, they enforce the speed limits! Food at dining halls is outstanding and retirees are allowed to eat there. No signs direct you to the campground! After getting through the gate continue down road until stop sign past gas station. Turn left. Drive to large propane tank and turn right. Continue to stop sign then turn left after lake. We camped at Petaluma Lake RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Bodega Bay nearby, where they filmed the Birds. Petaluma has nice shops and restaurants. Easy access to coast and if you want to venture a little farther out Muir Woods is great.

Ancient Redwoods RV Park, Redcrest, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Our third stay through the years, really like this park. Location right on the Avenue of the Giants but park area has clear sky so easy to use roof DirecTV satellite. Verizon signal booster at pavilion, no ATT service at all. Wifi is free for some data and worked well although it went down many evenings late. Reasonable fee in my opinion if you wanted to use more. Very nice people and gift shop. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.

Loleta Cheese Factory! When you drive up your first thought will be to keep going but stop! Wonderful variety of grilled cheese sandwiches...we went twice! There cheese is very good and we used their smoked cheddar in some mac and cheese...awesome! Ferndale was a fun stop and the beach about six miles west had some great waves.

Kamp Klamath RV Park, Klamath, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Park wasn't what I expected and my view may be sour after two weeks in beautiful Oregon State Parks. Drive in was down a narrow bumpy road but nothing bad. Pulled in and lady in the office was very nice, got us checked in quickly. We were assigned spot 10 and she said it was best if she walked me to it before parking since our rig is 40 feet. Basically a grass area with 10 spots that are very close together. I asked if we could get one of the closer spots (like 2 - 5) because I was going to have to jockey the rig to park; she said no. I asked if park was full but she said no...not sure why I couldn't move because only two other trailers during our 4 day stay. Got parked and our hitch was over sewer pipe which was behind rig but we made it work. Sites very close together, luckily nobody else came in or it would have felt like fairground event parking. NOTE: there is an upper area of the park laid out like a conventional park that looked nicer. Not sure how many big rigs would fit. VERY bumpy approach...go slow! Power post was leaning quite a bit but worked. Sewer was slow to drain. No ATT cell, DirecTV satellite worked fine. No wifi though advertised. Went to office when we couldn't connect and was just told it was pretty poor. Good stuff: nice people, band and bbq on Saturday night. Probably would look for other options next time. We camped at Kamp Klamath RV Park in a Motorhome.

Humbug Mountain State Park, Port Orford, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Would be a 10 in my book if had sewer; will definitely return! Bathrooms were newer and well kept, numerous camp hosts and park personnel kept the entire park clean. ATT cell service in lower camp which is nearer to beach; couldn't get in our site (22). Did get DirecTV with roof satellite, would be hit or miss in this park. Short walk to private beach with beautiful sunsets and waves. Strong phone signal there so many park residents every night. We camped at Humbug Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.

Everything is a drive. Nearest big stores are around 45 minutes away so shop before coming. Local grocery was okay and prices were reasonable but higher than big box stores.

Fort Stevens State Park, Hammond, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful park if visiting Astoria. KOA just outside the park if you can't get a site with sewer but the dump station at the park has three lanes and is easy access. We spent five days in park with W/E. Huge spot, tons of room between sites. Very busy park so book early. Roof satellite worked perfect for DirecTV in this site. We camped at Fort Stevens State Park in a Motorhome.

Nice, quite park along the river. Site 45 had no neighbors on one side so wide open views. Huge dog run and lots of friendly people. Adjacent to the highway was initial concern but extremely quiet at night. Will definitely stay again. We camped at Riverbend RV Park in a Motorhome.

Seacliff State Beach, Aptos, California

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Funny to rate a park a 9 and then cite so many flaws, but you are backed in about 100 feet from the ocean and that's what it's all about. The sites are slightly unlevel and you need at least two sewer hoses if you have a motorhome. Site was full of weeds and the road in is long overdue for a repave. None of it mattered when we were sitting around the camp fire watching the waves! We camped at Seacliff State Beach in a Motorhome.

Flag City RV Resort, Lodi, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed at this park many times while visiting the area and they've done a good job keeping it up in the two years since our last visit. One great addition was the option to buy high speed wifi at a reasonable weekly rate. The free wifi was good for basic stuff but we were able to stream shows every night and it worked perfectly. We camped at Flag City RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Colorado River Adventures/Lake Havasu Resort, Lake Havasu City, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Not a resort but clean and everything worked. Sites are tight...almost like camping at a fairground event. 30 amp only but we're here in the off season so that's okay. Wouldn't recommend for extended stay unless you like being really packed in a tight site. People are friendly and park is safe and clean. Bee's RV Resort, Clermont, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

The people at the resort are wonderful and the on-site restaurant is good and a great value. Campground utilities all worked, site was level. Good value but not a resort I would go out of my way to stay at. Homeless guy came out of woods and used water on site next to ours to wash off. We were warned in the paperwork and nothing happened, but still disconcerting. Some road noise from turnpike but not bad. Be sure to spray for ants. We camped at Bee's RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Briarcliffe RV Resort, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Can't really complain when paying $13.50 and the sign says $72 a night if not C2C. Everything worked, very clean and friendly. Wifi was spotty on the weekend and evenings but that's to be expected. Lots of trees so some sites won't get satellite. We were in 265 which backed up to a child care center; if you don't like the sound of children try for another spot. Our site was narrow but this is a park where you're here to visit Myrtle Beach so that's okay. Lots of full-timers and seasonals. We would stay here again.
