Aggieland RV Park, Bryan, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Our stay was excellent overall. Very helpful manager. Clean and well groomed grounds. Bathrooms clean and stocked. Exit using back gate code box needs to stick out 1 more foot to avoid gate. We'll stay here again with our travel trailer. We camped at Aggieland RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Brantley Lake State Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

No criticisms of the park but was not to our liking. No sewer hook up that I asked for at Reserve America. Sites are close together and are angled for easier backing in. There were many empty sites which is a different observation than other reviewers. We had reservations for 2 nights and stayed 1. We camped in a travel trailer. There is a lot of wildlife in the area which is fun to sit and watch. We camped at Brantley Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Kirtland AFB FamCamp , Kirtland AFB, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Military only Family Camping aka Famcamp. Enter at Eubanks gate for easy access to the Famcamp. Many long term campers but still plenty of room for first come, first serve.
Several sites need trimming of low branches for easier access. Part of Famcamp is treeless for those who prefer that. Some pull thrus require driving over a curb to exit, something we chose not to do. Very helpful office staff.

Famcamp is in serious need of landscape maintenance. Trimming lower branches will allow trees to gain height for pleasant shade instead of bush like height. Recent stay at Air Force Academy Famcamp was exemplary in comparison. We camped at Kirtland AFB FamCamp in a Travel Trailer.

Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent in every way. Pricey for the amenities but very clean and efficient. Sites are positioned for maximum privacy. Lots of wildlife including squirrels, rabbits, and lizards which are fun to watch. Each site gets a picnic table and concrete that table is on. Sites are gravel with FHUs. Efficient RV Park that meets basic needs. We camped in a travel trailer on a pull thru site and needed to unhitch. Would stay again even though it is a drive from Santa Fe. We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Trailer Ranch RV Park (55+ Park), Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

All previous positive comments ditto from us. Involved management, guide to site, everywhere is clean and fresh. Park is convenient to everywhere and everything you might need. Staff gives out a map identifying downtown attractions. Very professional and personable in all ways. We camped in a travel trailer. Our site was long enough but we had to disconnect tow vehicle. We would stay again if in area. We camped at Trailer Ranch RV Park (55+ Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Cimmaron Inn & RV Park, Cimarron, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

$40 gets you full hookups on a dusty, gravel back-in site. There were two RV areas, one near the road and one behind a "cowboy cabin" that is more private. Sites are very close and trees prevent back-in accessing some sites. This is suitable for 1 night if necessary but seems over priced for the facilities.

Owners are very welcoming and friendly. RV park seems neglected in favor of the Inn part of the business. We stayed 1 night. Probably won't return. We camped at Cimmaron Inn & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Orilla Verde Recreation Area, Rio Bravo Campground BLM, Pilar, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We did not enjoy our stay at this dusty, trashy BLM site. $15 a night gets you an electric/water site with no sewer. Nearest dump is 30 miles away. You pay extra to shower. We had partial shade. Two unhappy campers. Stayed 2 nights; had planned to stay 7 nights. We camped at Orilla Verde Recreation Area, Rio Bravo Campground BLM in a Travel Trailer.

Coyote Creek State Park, Guadalupita, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Overall a good experience. E&W sites (8 total) very tight. Either slide outs or awning but cannot accommodate both. Beautiful location in a valley with a small river stocked with fish. Bathhouses very clean and up to date. Previous campers have left more trash and debris than I am used to. Dump station at far end of park on an incline, not level. Quiet and family oriented. Church group was here during our stay and we barely heard them (lots of kids). Park hosts were on top of business. A fire about 1 mile away was a concern but they passed the OK as soon as all was under control. Winding roads getting here and out, kept the speed down and no shoulders either. Backing into our site was difficult due to a poorly placed sign. Tow vehicle must disconnect due to limited length of lot. Plenty of room to park tow vehicle away from site. We would consider returning.

$18 nightly fee includes $14 camping fee and $4 Reserve America fee. We are learning that many NM SPs have First Come, First Serve sites which do not require a reservation. RA fees can add up quickly if you reserve every visit. Food for thought.

Regarding the site we were given regarding

lot length, tow vehicle must disconnect due to limited depth. I don't know what big Class As do. We camped at Coyote Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

There is a wonderful Catholic Church in Mora, about 17 miles down the scenic road. M-F 7:30am Mass.

Bottomless Lakes State Park, Roswell, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Pulled in without a reservation and treated very well with a choice of pull-through electrical and water, on Fathers Day.

Getting to this state park involves many winding curves but all were acceptable for our truck and trailer. Very popular lake for locals including rental boats. We arrived late in day so we spent no time in the water.

Getting here is "out of the way" but a value for the cost.

Our stay was for one night only. If in area again, we will strongly consider returning. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Hilltop RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This new clean park is a great place to stopover while crossing TX. The park appears designed to serve.

Once trees and shrubs grow enough to provide shade, this will be an outstanding park. We stayed two nights. Swimming pool was nice relief from the heat. Overall, more than satisfactory. We would stay here again while traveling through Fort Stockton.

2 suggestions: a key code lock on the adult lounge room, instead of having ask for a key; and offer a jigsaw puzzle in the same room. It is a relatively small room for the number of sites. Is there a room for the long-term people to gather? Offering suggestions as good for thought, no complaints. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
