Lighthouse by the Bay, Blaine, Washington

Date of Stay: March, 2007 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

First, the name has changed from Sea Breeze RV Park to "Lighthouse By The Bay". They are apparently under new Ownership rather than new Management. Sites are clean and refurbished. They've upgraded the washrooms with new floors and re-painted. Resident RVers are mostly part-timers who use their RVs as cottages. Wonderful people around. They have a new security system - and everything locks with combination locks that change frequently. Newly refurbished roads are smooth and landscaping upgraded from the last time we were here last April (2006). They have P.A. and Good Sams discounts for overnight full hookups. Upgrades still in process. Looks like it will be a first rate place so close to Birch Bay (about 1,500 feet). We camped at Lighthouse by the Bay in a Motorhome.

Bellingham RV Park, Bellingham, Washington

Date of Stay: January, 2006 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for three months. Very friendly, considerate and informational managers. Excellent provisions: WiFi, Cable TV and water/sewer hookups. Shower and bathroom setup is very accommodating. Laundry facilities very reasonably priced. They take AAA and Good Sam's discounts. Also offer weekly, monthly and seasonal rates as well. Only drawback was the noise from trucks parking across the road at a truck stop gas station. Walking through other folk's sites is not permitted and dealt with accordingly by management. We camped at Bellingham RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mingo RV Park, Tulsa, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: November, 2005 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Best park on the trip in 2005 - Loved their decor and hookups. Privacy from fences between spaces was super. Very good laundry facilities and Recreation room. Their actual individual bathrooms with toilet, sink and shower were a very pleasant surprise - just like home. Plan to return on next trip through Tulsa. We camped at Mingo RV Park in a Motorhome.

Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve, Santee, California

Date of Stay: November, 2005 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Visiting for a week at a time, as we've done many years in the past, we encountered peaceful surroundings. The park is secure and patrolled in a very well managed park. Natural shrubbery kept our privacy at a premium. Sites are huge. Many waterfowl landed and visited campers begging for tidbits. Very enjoyable. We camped at Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve in a Motorhome.

Milton Heights Campground, Milton, Ontario

Date of Stay: October, 2005 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Cost was $25 nightly in Canadian funds. Managers and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They have weekly, monthly, and seasonal rates. Very comfortable and friendly. We stayed there for six weeks. There is freeway noise in morning and evening commuting hours only. There are seasonal RV sites in a specified area where folks use their RVs for cottages. Laundry facilities are very reasonably priced. Everything was cleaned twice daily and as-needed. Commuted daily to Mississauga in 40 minutes. Driving to Toronto to sight-see takes about 45 minutes. Main observation: I don't recommend taking an RV off the freeway and into downtown Toronto as streets are very crowded and narrow. We camped at Milton Heights Campground in a Motorhome.
