Williams / Exit 167 / Circle Pines KOA, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 nights while visiting the Grand Canyon. Campground is about 2 miles from downtown Williams which is a great town; good entertainment, good restaurants. The park is large with sites that are close together and lots of trees. The service was terrible. We could not get a clear picture on the park's cable tv. When I complained to the office they weren't the least bit friendly and said that it was a new system and it was probably my coax cable, or something wrong with the wiring in my new Lance trailer. None of this proved to be true as the cable service worked at the prior stops and the subsequent stops. They never did provide us with a clear cable signal. Won't be going back here. We camped at Williams / Exit 167 / Circle Pines KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The park is about two miles east of the city of Williams. Williams is a great town with good restaurants, entertainment and the Grand Canyon Railroad which will take you on a great 1.5 hour train ride up to the Grand Canyon. The ride is well worth the fare. It save you the 65 mile drive to the Canyon and then having to deal with parking hassles.

Schulenburg RV Park, Schulenburg, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older, smaller park with mature shade trees. The facilities are old but clean and in good condition. The best part of the stay was the staff. It is a family-owned park and the staff treat you like you are a guest in their home. They know the area and interesting things to do in this small E. Texas town. We had a good time touring the painted churches in the area. We camped at Schulenburg RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Schulenburg is a small E. Texas town but it has a supermarket and several good places to eat. If you visit, don't miss the painted church tour. The churches are incredible and you'll get to see some of the Texas countryside while you do the tour. Ask your host at the RV park for details, they'll be happy to help.

Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Enjoyed our 2 day stay here. This park is about 6 miles from the historic Santa Fe Plaza. Easy access to the I-40 and downtown Santa Fe. Restrooms and showers were very clean and the sites were arranged to provide as much privacy as possible. Staff was friendly and helpful. Wifi was reliable. If we are back this way, we will stay here again. We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is on a bluff above the city so we got a nice cooling breeze in the evenings that gave some relief from the high 90s June weather. Lots of metal sculpture and other art on the property.

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are close together but tolerable. Cable, electric, water & sewer worked without problem. Wifi is slow and can be sketchy if the park is full. This is a big parking lot style park, but the staff and amenities easily make up for any lack of aesthetics. The staff was very friendly and interested in making our stay comfortable. This is a large park without trees, and sites that are close together. Great for an overnight stay. We camped at USA RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve, Santee, California

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice, large county park planned around a system of engineered lakes. Pretty setting. Sites are spacious, but not much privacy. We were camped along a creek that fed the lakes. The park is frequently full and lots of children. Can be noisy. Camp host wasn't very interested in controlling noise after 10 and before 8. We camped at Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The park is in a residential area. Lots of services and amenities nearby (Santee Town Center). Easy access to freeways leading to all of San Diego County. A nice place if you are vacationing in San Diego County and need a convenient place.

Flag City RV Resort, Lodi, California

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This one of those "big parking lot" parks, not much in the way of shade trees, but plenty of room at concrete pad sites. Modern, clean facilities. Swimming pool and spa pool were a treat at the end of a 100+ degree day. Had some problem with shore power, but the staff got right on it and had the power problem fixed within 30 minutes. We camped at Flag City RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is not really in Lodi. It is just off I-5 (could hear the traffic, but not a serious problem) and about 5 miles from downtown. There was some construction of the road to Lodi, but not a problem in the evenings. We enjoyed our one night stay here.

Waiiaka RV Park (formerly Waiiaka Trailer Haven), Yreka, California

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped for one night. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The WiFi is sketchy. The sites are gravel and level with a picnic table. Some trees for shade. Some long term "residents" on one side of the park, but generally neatly kept. Quiet! Good place for a short stop over. We camped at Waiiaka RV Park (formerly Waiiaka Trailer Haven) in a Travel Trailer.
