Probably closest RV "park" to San Francisco. North of Sausalito, about 10 miles north of Golden Gate Bridge. Urban gravel RV "park" - nothing park like about it, but sufficient. Next to US 101 and exit ramp, so continual loud traffic noise 24/7. No trees, no bushes, no grass - just gravel and asphalt. Urban air pollution. Narrow sites, gravel = not very level. BUT pool is OK, all the requirements are here - power is OK, water OK, dumps are at back of site but OK, room for larger units. Staff are very friendly and nice. Price median for high-demand California location. And location is pretty convenient to San Francisco. We camped at Marin Park in a Motorhome.

A real country campground: narrow unlevel dusty sites, shaded all day by big trees. The rushing babbling brook behind our site (#37, at the back of the property), drowned out any road noise from the country road out front. No bright lights at night except the Moon and millions of stars. We had WIFI in our site about 500 feet from the office. Marked down for real campground shower rooms; front shower building has tile stalls but no heat; back shower building has plastic stalls that sway when you shift your footing. We camped at Glenyan RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.
Ashland Shakespeare is about 15 miles.
For views, take Dead Indian Memerial Road into hills; note the lavender field just past the airport.
