Rita Blanca City Park, Dalhart, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Hidden gem just south of town. Self-service kiosk (cash required) for the 8 full-hookup fairly level spots. Only two other campers here on my two recent visits. Some car traffic to the adjoining lake, but far enough from the campground to not be a bother. Large adjacent park for strolling. We camped at Rita Blanca City Park in a Motorhome.

Large supermarket 1/4 mile from the campground, on the road to the park. The very interesting XIT Ranch Museum is close-by in downtown Dalhart.

Fiddler's Cove RV Park (Military FamCamp), San Diego, California

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Great price for this location! Convenient to most of the San Diego tourist attractions (up to 1/2 an hour to the waterfront boat tours, etc. because of traffic). Level concrete pads, friendly and helpful desk attendants, good cable (but spotty T-Mobile and park Wi-Fi). Some occasional helicopter noise, but not often enough to be a problem. Wicked speed bumps! We camped at Fiddler's Cove RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The nearby SEAL base has a good MWR office (limited hours), nice gym, and movie theater. Larger NEX and commissary are available at the Air Station on the north end of the island. For a great seafood meal at a reasonable price, try Pete's Seafood at 3383 30th street, about 5 miles east (park in the rear).

Adelanto RV Park , Adelanto, California

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

In transit so only stayed one night; attendant was very friendly and confirmed our stay early that day. Park was very clean and well organized! Not much to do in Victorville, but a good stop before heading to/from LA or San Diego. We would stay again! We camped at Adelanto RV Park in a Motorhome.

If you're headed towards Needles and have a small RV, take old Rt66 to Oatman AZ. Scenic - but twisty - road to one of the funkiest towns anywhere!

Flagstaff KOA, Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We found the service personnel to be friendly and efficient and the park is quiet; it is however way overpriced for what is provided. Most spots are not level and are tight for larger units. The biggest surprise was the "shared power pole" concept, something we've never seen before. We found our site, but the site behind ours had already plugged into both the 30 amp and the 20 amp outlets, so we had to move to another site (ask about this before booking, they expect one unit to use the 30 amp outlet, the later arrival gets the 20 amp)! We camped at Flagstaff KOA in a Motorhome.

Methodist Cove COE, Republican City, Nebraska

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

The usual Corps of Engineers tidy and well-run campground! Spacious graveled sites, well-located power stand and water source with good pressure. (Site was a little uneven, but within reason). Didn't use toilets or shower. We use CoE campgrounds whenever possible and have never been disappointed! That said, CoE doesn't usually spend a lot on signs, so it will take some map skills to find this site. We camped at Methodist Cove COE in a Motorhome.

Scott State Park, Scott City, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We booked this site through ReserveAmerica which charged $3 for the transaction. Fair enough, but we were surprised at the $5/day vehicle fee. (Yes, it's there in the fine print)! Our site was a full hook-up, level gravel, and had some shade. Park was quiet and clean. The park boathouse rents kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats for $16/hour. We camped at Scott State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Monument Rocks site and fossil museums are nearby. Oakley, to the north, also has a Buffalo Bill museum watched over by a larger-than-life casting of Mr. Cody and one of his name-sakes. Scott City, to the south, has a good country artifacts museum combined with an interesting art display, both high-quality and recommended. Somewhat further to the northwest is the Butterfield Trail Museum in Russell Springs, well worth the drive.

Canadian COE, Canton, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed the week before Labor Day and the campground was almost empty (but is fully booked for the holiday weekend). The park has basically two separate parts, an older section with lots of shade but uneven back-in sites and limited electricity in combination with water. None seem to have sewer, but a dump station is available. The newer section has excellent back-in and pull-through sites, level concrete with full e/w/s and patios, but trees aren't grown out yet. All sites are roomy, clean, and well maintained. Registration person was friendly and pointed out the features (and differences) between the two sections. We camped at Canadian COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nearby Weatherford features the Thomas Stafford Museum, a high-quality attraction for anyone interested in early aviation history as well as the the Apollo space program. Also the musician Roger Miller has a museum in Erick OK, and Clinton OK has an interesting Route 66 museum, all within an hours drive from here.

Delta Ridge RV Park, Inc., Forrest City, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $25.00

Prairie RV Park, Elkhart, Kansas

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Very neat, clean, and quiet RV park in spite of proximity to a US highway, major railroad, and small airport.

Found this location by accident on my way to Black Mesa State Park, but this is much better due to good AT&T coverage and local shopping/eating opportunities. Perfectly located for an overnight between Albuquerque and Wichita, a route I travel often. Highly recommended! We camped at Prairie RV Park in a Motorhome.

Clark Park, Battle Mountain, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We concur with all the previous positive reviews; great overnight stop in an area where there isn't much choice!

Although self-check in, there is a posted phone number for shower and wifi codes.

Reservations probably not necessary; only three of us transients here last night in high travel season. We camped at Clark Park in a Motorhome.
