Endless Caverns Resort, New Market, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

It was a lay over destination. The weather was like soup. Rainy, foggy. Even through that I could see it was a beautiful place! Full service sites though no Cable TV and heavily wooded so no Satellite TV either. Very easy to find off I-81 Exit 257. Gas or Diesel fuel at good prices at the exit. LP gas available at the campground. The staff was very nice. Definitely will come back and stay longer. Gorgeous area. We camped at Endless Caverns Resort in a Motorhome.

Owners/operators are wonderful. Helpful and considerate. Lots are nearby each other and sunny/open. Site surface is gravel and the lot had a picnic table. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Lake Haven Retreat in a Motorhome.

8 miles from downtown Indianapolis. Uber rides were so easy and affordable for us since our event was at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Kentucky Horse Park Campground, Lexington, Kentucky

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We were just there for an overnight stop. Called ahead for same day arrival and the staff was very helpful. Explained we'd be a late arrival. They said to pick a spot not reserved/held and stop by in the morning. We did and admired their camp store. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Pine Hill RV Park, Kutztown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Well maintained park with virtually all pull through sites. Neat as a pin. Very convenient to I-78. The gravel interior roads were well maintained but a bit narrow in places. Inspect your site before you drive to it for length if you're just stopping for the night w/o unhooking a tow vehicle. The views of the valley were gorgeous and though we we could see the interstate, it was very quiet. Management was friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Pine Hill RV Park in a Motorhome.

An excellent campground for overnight stays or visiting the area. Recreation and activities would be found elsewhere. Very clean and well maintained with mowed grass and good roads.

Hemlock Grove Campground, Arundel, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Our prior stay was over 5 yrs ago. But then it was excellent and we were treated as well or better this time. A beautiful, gated, campground with loads of colorful landscaping around the park all kept up and neat. Smooth packed gravel roads and spacious sites. Most sites are under trees and well shaded. Excellent cable TV. Full variety of channels. So convenient to Kennebunkport/Kennebunk, Cabellas, Scarborough and I-95. They had records of our previous stay and by request we got the same site again. Walking around there isn't a "bad" site anywhere. I can't say enough about the owners/operators. Friendly and welcoming. Happy to help in any way. After leaving with something extended, here comes the owner chasing us down in his truck. Thankfully we caught it in time. That's going the extra mile for sure! There are other choices in the area. And we've used them in the past. None compare to the total experience at Hemlock Grove. We camped at Hemlock Grove Campground in a Motorhome.

Convenient to Kennebunkport, Kennebunk, and I-95. Get some Maine Wild Blueberry Ice Cream at Hannafords. Treat yourself to a Lobster Roll at the red food truck. Have a magnificent meal at Mabel's on Ocean Dr. Drive out to Walker's Point (Bush Compound). Visit to St Anne's past Walker's Point. It is a magnificent stone chapel and a wonderful outdoor chapel. Guys: Visit Main Street Barber Shop in Kennebunk. Otherwise enjoy a real New England treasure.

Boston Minuteman Campground, Littleton, Massachusetts

Tight, twisty gravel roads with many trees too close to the road making it very tight for a large RV. Functional but not great for lots of RV types. We camped at Boston Minuteman Campground in a Motorhome.

A fine place perhaps for small campers and tenters, class B motorhomes. Challenging for Class A motorhomes and forget about Big Rigs. Staff was polite but had a "take it or leave it" attitude. I will not be returning to this campground.

Unadilla / I-88 / Oneonta KOA, Franklin, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

It's a little awkward getting to it. BE SURE TO ASK FOR DIRECTIONS! Depending on your RV, there are 2 approaches and one avoids an impossible turn. The staff is happy to help you with the directions. Use their advice approaching and leaving. Once there, it is a lovely campground well maintained and neat. We were just passing through and were able to get a pull through. Owner was extremely nice and helpful. Well stocked camp store too. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Unadilla / I-88 / Oneonta KOA in a Motorhome.

Pineglen Motorcoach and RV Park, Panama City Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

A brief 2 day/night stay while visiting relatives locally. Easy access of FL Hwy 98. Beautiful setting nested in pine trees with multiple lakes with overlooking sites to consider. Neat as a pin! Beautifully landscaped. Spotless clean. Gravel roads and sites but very level. Cable works great. Too many trees for Satellite service. Compared to other Florida campgrounds, this was an extremely high value. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Pineglen Motorcoach and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camp Gulf, Miramar Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $108.00
Overall Rating:

Generally very nicely laid out but lacks space between sites. Avoid back in sites on the hill by the Activity center. Quite a slope and challenging to get level. Other sites closer to the highway or on the lower area closer to the ocean are level. Sand everywhere. If it bothers you, think twice. It's the beach after all. Cable TV had a poor signal. Satellite worked best for us. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Motorhome.

Benchmark RV Park, Meridian, Mississippi

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Two thirds of the sites are pull-through with nice, level concrete pads and lighted utility posts with everything necessary. Open park with no trees to interfere with satellite reception. All sites angled for easy in/easy out. Manager was extremely nice and helpful with directions when our GPS led us astray. The finest overnight campground I've used anywhere. Easily suitable for longer stays as well. We camped at Benchmark RV Park in a Motorhome.

Grants / Cibola Sands KOA, Grants, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to find off I-40. Friendly staff. Small park overall but very level everywhere. All sites are pull thru. Hot meals and continental breakfast available & cookies at checkin! Only issue are the trains late at night. A bit pricey for an all gravel park. But great for an overnight or two. We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Motorhome.

Mountain Valley RV Park, Tehachapi, California

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Purely an overnight stop for us. It filled that need well. A very pleasant Englishman is the operator. If he is out on the campus, there's an easy self check-in system. He posts the reserved sites to avoid. Our site was fairly level with water and electricity only. That's all we needed. The water pressure was very poor. So we opted to use our onboard water and refilled/topped-off one time. Access to CA Hwy 58 was easy. IMHO it is not a "destination" campground unless you had other purposes in the area. A clean, friendly campground with no free wifi or cable TV. Fortunately our satellite worked nicely. If I was passing through again, I would indeed stay here again. We camped at Mountain Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Yosemite West Mariposa KOA, Midpines, California

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly, helpful staff. Nicely stocked camp store with homemade fudge and pizzas made to order. The roads were narrow though paved which was good on this mostly hilly campus. Sites were adequate but close together. Many trees which affected our Satellite signal though some others were open to the sky. Cable TV worked pretty well. Some cell services were just completely out of luck. And the wifi was functional but not as good as it could be. Frequently dropped connections and could not get back on for hours. We were there to see Yosemite. It is the closest full hookup campground to the west entrance. 25 miles into the park but not a bad drive. We camped at Yosemite West Mariposa KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There's nothing else in the area. Bring ALL your provisions and perhaps some DVD's and games. Electronic connectivity is just on & off. Most likely you're there to go see Yosemite and want a full hookup cg. This meets that need. The cg was clean and the staff was very nice. Not a children-friendly campground. Did not see any playground equipment and the roads are narrow and the sites are close together. To go to Yosemite I would stay again.

Sparks Marina RV Park, Sparks, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is the IMHO the ideal suburban RV park. Close to interstates and main highways but well removed from the noise. Immaculate grounds that are flawless and spotless, flat as a pool table, wide paved roads to concrete pads and predominantly pull through sites. Artificial grass between sites gave it a welcome splash of color but was neat and clean. Spacing of the sites was more than adequate. It is designed for rigs of all sizes but mainly big rigs. It is setup to cater to adult campers with no "play grounds" that we saw. The entrance is first class as is the entire staff in the office and out in the park. I would be here all the time if it weren't 3,000 miles from home! We camped at Sparks Marina RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ideally located adjacent to Reno, WalMart, all sorts of restaurants, convenient to I-80 for travel to Lake Tahoe, Virginia City, Carson City, etc. They operate a well stocked camp store. For the price charged, it is perhaps the best value we have enjoyed in 6+ weeks on the road.
