Headwaters Lodge & Cabins at Flagg Ranch (formerly Flagg Ranch Resort), Moran, Wyoming

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

If you want to be within 2 miles of the south entrance to Yellowstone, this is your place. If you want to be off the grid, no satellite or cell signal, this is your place. Old campground that needs a lot of work. As others have mentioned the sewer hookups are way up in the air. I saw several that the connection was higher than the dump point of the unit. We came home on a rainy afternoon to find a lake enveloping the entire front of our MH, 3-4 inches deep. When I asked to move to higher ground the gal running the desk just said "we're full". Fortunately the Assistant Manager was there and he sent the Maintenance guy over and he brought buckets of road fill and built us a bridge. Water drained away slowly but with continued rain it continued to be a problem. Bless that maintenance man. Satellite hookup appeared to be nonexistent to spotty at best. I saw some folks using walk out antennas that were enjoying some success. You drive either 22 miles north to Grant Village for a cell signal or South about 20 miles to Colter Bay which also offers wifi in the restaurant and laundry. Recycling at Flagg was interesting. We were thrilled to have some recycling available but disappointed to see the recycling guy take the bags out of the recycling container and carry them directly to the dumpster on more than one occassion. Bright spot in our stay here was they brought chocolate chip cookies around on several afternoons that were delicious and much appreciated. We won't be back to Flagg Ranch. Staying down the road at Colter Bay would be our future plan. We camped at Headwaters Lodge & Cabins at Flagg Ranch (formerly Flagg Ranch Resort) in a Motorhome.

Ennis RV Village, Ennis, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Our first stay here and will not be our last! Nice, clean park with great folks running it. Easy to get around in and space is good. Walking around the park is nice with a couple of trails easily accessible from the park and a nice loop across the highway. Satellite hooked up no problem and Verizon signal was strong. We'll be back. We camped at Ennis RV Village in a Motorhome.

Jim & Mary's RV Park, Missoula, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first time through Jim and Mary's and we will be back. The park is beautiful, the flower beds are to something to marvel over! Easy to get around in with our 45' MH. They had Cowboy Music one night while we were there that was a hoot! Very convenient to Missoula. Satellite hooked up no problem and the Verizon signal was strong! We will most definitely be back. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

About 12 miles N is the Huckleberry Patch. Owned by the same folks that have the one in West Glacier. Get your Huckleberry Pie there. Smoke jumpers center is close and worthwhile. Missoula has lots going on. Farmer's Markets on Tuesday and Saturday during the summer. We made it Tuesday but missed the really big one on Saturday.

Woodland RV Park, Libby, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Good park. Owner was superb. I can see how this park could be tight getting in and out as the landscaping is pretty close to turns and was all marked off when we were there. Our site was fine. It was creekside but not much of a creek to speak of in August. Cable TV was provided and was fine. Satellite would not hook up. Verizon signal was ok. We camped at Woodland RV Park in a Motorhome.

Go fishing. We crossed the river in Libby then drove to the end of river rd. Several good places to walk down to the river and fish while hiking downstream. Beautiful place. Folks were extremely friendly everywhere we stopped in town. Keep an eye out for sasquatch!

StoneRidge Golf and Recreational Community, Blanchard, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Great park. They are in business to sell lots. Many of the privately owned lots are simply stunning! They are also rented out to folks like us passing through. We were on a lot that was still available to no build up/table, etc. Just not that kind of park. It's beautiful, great for walking, golfing community and had many social activities. The pool was beautiful. Good satellite hookup and strong Verizon signal. Will stay again! We camped at StoneRidge Golf and Recreational Community in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Super park. Price reflects GS weekly rate. Just a beautiful place. Indoor pool and workout area. Good walking for humans and dogs!! They offered live entertainment one night while we were there that we really enjoyed. Folks running the campground were just awesome. We will most definitely return when passing through this part of Idaho. Good satellite and verizon. There was some construction on the far end of the park as new sites are going in. Our site was between two cabins and a pull in/back out. Great view! We camped at McCall RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Hells Canyon Resort, Clarkston, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park and marina. The park is immaculate and the folks running it are as nice as you'll come across. Very nice indoor pool with clearly marked hours. Large lending library. We were in site #1 which is probably the best in the park for view. Absolutely no problems with this park. Not much for dog walking and would love to see them add some recycling. We did suffer sprinkler overspray on the grassy side of the coach every morning. Hard water and tough spots. Outside of their control are the busy streets encircling the park. I don't think there are any restrictions on the trucks using engine breaks as you hear them as the come off the bridge. Parking on the edges would no doubt be quite noisy. Without the noise I'd of rated this park even higher. We camped at Hells Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

The Meadows RV Park, Ketchum, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We didn't have any trouble maneuvering through this park but the spaces are tight, tight, tight!. One of those places you pull in opposite your neighbors and share the pole for electrical hookups. Individual boxes but on the same pole. You get the picture, tight! But, it's the only game in town. We shared a picnic table with out neighbors though many sites had two, they were just in-between as the passenger side of our MH faced the passenger side of our neighbor. Wifi was adequate. Verizon signal was good. Beautiful area. We camped at The Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

Casper KOA, Bar Nunn, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here two nights while passing through Casper. Good place to stop. All gravel but easy in and out. ENTRANCE IS ON SUNSET BLVD. My GPS took us to Prairie Ln and you can't usually enter the park from there. Once we broke the code on that it was an easy on and off I25. Very clean, quiet...good stop. Bar Nunn is built on an old airport. It's worth the walk over to the Hangar which is right across the street. Aviation motif with full bar and food. Good Verizon, wifi was ok. Beautiful Indoor pool. We will stay here on our next pass through. Took a drive to the other two parks and would definitely use this one. We camped at Casper KOA in a Motorhome.

Stayed for a week in June. Nice park. Easy to get around in. Big gravel sites. They tell you when you check in that it's windy in the area and they aren't kidding! WiFi no worky the whole time we were there. We were told they'd had a lightening strike. Verizon MiFi signal was good. Good place to stay and we would use it again if we were back in the area. Overall Rating:

Great park and the closest one to the northern entrance to Yellowstone. New owners as of December 2016 and they're doing good things. Very friendly staff on check in and we followed the golf cart to our pull in/back out site on top of the hill. No problem getting into the gravel space. Nice and level. Sewer had the small pipe. WiFi was free and screaming. Satellite hooked up no problem and good Verizon signal. View was simply stunning from the deluxe spots. Easy trip into the park. Only about 5 miles to Mammoth Springs. Good place to base out of if spending time in the Lamar Valley. We will most definitely return often. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.
