Sunset Bay State Park, Coos Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Pros - reservable, level, paved, and it has the trail head for the Oregon Coast 8 mile trail here. Cons - sites are a little close together, signs about thieves stealing bikes made it seem unsafe. We camped at Sunset Bay State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice campground, reservable, level. Nice mix of sun and shade. Fire pit, grill area, picnic table. Close to the village with laundry, groceries and gas. No hot showers, large campground, mosquitoes. Great place to stay while visiting Crater Lake. We camped at Mazama Village (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, Crescent City, California

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We booked 11 months out - but still couldn't get three days in the same spot. We are pretty flexible and didn't mind changing spots so we went ahead and reserved. THIS WAS A NIGHTMARE! You can't just change sites - THEY MAKE YOU LEAVE FOR HOURS. We have stayed in a lot of campgrounds all over America and this was the worst policy we have ever seen. So you've been warned. The campground host was rude and arrogant. Other than that, the place is beautiful. Site 5 has a lot of road noise. Site 29 is on a curve. Site 55 is beautiful and on the river. The best sites are down close to the old boat launch area. We camped at Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Manzanita Lake (NPS Campground), Lassen Volcanic National Park, California

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Site A-37 Reservable, level, pull-through. Both sun for solar charge and afternoon shade. Spacious, beautiful and well maintained. Potable water and flush toilets next to our site. Trail to the lake was close by. Great camp store that has gasoline. Only drawback was a pesky chipmunk. One of our favorite campgrounds. We camped at Manzanita Lake (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Sparks Marina RV Park, Sparks, Nevada

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here overnight on a road trip. I didn't note the price. The park is huge - over 300 sites. The laundry facilities are great - they have A/C, wifi and a big screen TV. The entire park was spotless. Great place to stop. We camped at Sparks Marina RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pickwick Landing State Park, Pickwick Dam, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park, but most of the sites are not level. Ours required minimal leveling, but some are significant. Full shade and large sites make it nice. Dump station and dumpsters are nearby. The park is very boat-centric, with a large marina and rentals. There are also 2 swimming beachs and a couple of short hiking trails. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Pickwick Landing State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Savannah is 15 miles away and a very nice historic town. Grant had HQ here during Shiloh battle. Battlefield is 10 miles from campsite and one of the best in the nation.
