Pinewood Lodge Campground, Plymouth, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

All in all a very nice large campground with generally spacious sites. Site #26 was especially long and spacious for our 40 foot rig and toad. We used the fire ring to good effect with the nice stones/rock setup. The lodge personnel were friendly. The store was well stocked and they service ice cream until 9pm. Satellite didn't work with all of the wonderful tree canopy but the over sixty channels on cable more then compensated. I would return to this site. Plymouth has a lot to offer. We camped at Pinewood Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.

While this park could be a destination in itself, you should visit Plymouth Rock, take a harbor cruise on Capt John's Mississippi Steam boat, check out the Plimoth Village and eat clam strips at the Lobster Hut hear the harbor.

Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA), Staunton, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The park is divided into two sections. One section with only water and electric, which we were in. The other a hilly section overlooking a small lake, with full hookups, but a steep hill to get to the top of the hill. Overall the park is very nice, which includes a nice pool. A quick, friendly check-in is followed by a round about drive through part of the park. Drive slow and you'll make it with a 40 foot motorhome with a toad. I will return. We camped at Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA) in a Motorhome.

Mayberry Campground, Mount Airy, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The park is large and spacious, with no pool. The roads are wide and easy to navigate. The road to the park can be a little intimidating with the small hill on the approach after a sharp left turn into what appears to be a residential area, but you soon arrive at the park. After a no nonsense check-in, we arrived at level asphalt site #67. There are no trees in the park.. If you want a picnic table you can ask for one, we didn't have one on arrival. It is 15 minutes to downtown Mount Airy. 5 minutes off of the interstate. I would return. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

Since there is no pool at the park, there is a pool at the community center. Lap swim starts at 6:30pm. Take the Squad Car tour of Mount Airy. Walk Main Street in downtown Mount Airy. Visit the Andy Griffith Museum. One of the people that might greet you at the park is a descendant of the famous Siamese twins!

Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA, Fort Mill, South Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

The concrete pad on Site 61 was not long enough for my 40 foot RV and the site itself had quite a crown, so that when I leveled my front tires were wayyyy off of the ground, which I don't like, so we slept in an unleveled coach. The pool was nice. Convenient access off of the freeway. There was a Publix (grocery store) within walking distance. Otherwise a minimalist urban KOA, ok for one night. We camped at Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA in a Motorhome.

Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort, Hardeeville, South Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground. Clean. Spacious. Not crowded during our visit in early July. Fastest free internet of any park I've visited. Over 50 cable channels that came in clear. Nice wide site. 30 minutes from Savannah. Fast checkin at a clean office. I gave this a ten because it deserves it. It is the little campgound that could. But don't confuse this with those "10" high class sites that are $100/night, which are also nice in their own right. The pool was full of kids on Saturday evening. Site 39 was a back up site on their small lake. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Jacksonville North / St. Marys KOA, Kingsland, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Greeted very nicely at swift checkin. E6 was just long enough. But the site was cramped, with our utilities right next to neighbors picnic table, ditto with our picnic table and the other neighbor. Site was just long enough for rig & toad. On Friday night we had complementary hotdogs and smores at the site campfire. Each morning they offer complementary pancakes (including chocolate pancakes) and waffles. Cable had scratchy reception (due to lighting issues). $5 per day internet (for up to 3 devices) was decent to watch streaming video. Water pressure was low. Would stay here again. Hixton / Alma Center KOA, Hixton, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park, site 60 was gorgeous: on a hill with a steep approach and descent, but just go slow. Stair step design of sites, means your porch is above neighbors utilities with a bush separating sites. Great!

We were here late season and should have stayed an extra day or two to enjoy. Obligatory KOA railroad track nearby, loud truck traffic passing by on road, both of which you learn to ignore. Dark at night so great star gazing site. Friendly staff, weak wifi. 1 or 2 bars for ATT & Verizon. Would stay here again. We camped at Hixton / Alma Center KOA in a Motorhome.

Chicago Northwest KOA, Union, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

Tight entrance to park. Park is on the small side. Site 115 required 3 pads on front right tire to level without tire coming off ground: in other words sewage line (for my coach) had to run up hill. All staff was very friendly. Long pull thru sites. Was quiet at night. Very family oriented. We camped at Chicago Northwest KOA in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp-Resort at Raintree Lake, Scottsburg, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Nice quaint park. Admins met us after hours (8pm) to do paperwork as I intended to leave before the office opened (9am). Site 79 was relatively flat, no trees for good satellite, no cable, 5 over the air stations, huge open expanse in the front for a nice grassy wooded view where tenters camp. Major complaint was that sewer was four "standard" links away (at least that is how many my neighbor had) so I could not hook up sewer. (Who carries four sewer links? I have a third as a backup for my two ... not as a standard use case) Stayed one night. A lot of full timers. Plenty of activities for the kiddos. Yogi Bear makes apperances and they have a hay ride. Off the interstate a ways. Minimal noise. No train. 2 bars on Verizon and ATT. No site wifi. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp-Resort at Raintree Lake in a Motorhome.

St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA, Eureka, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

About 30% of KOA's I stay have a railroad nearby ... or you can hear one in the distance. This one has a freight line that runs over a bridge about 100 yards away from A31. My RV shook as each one passed, at least one an hour all night ... ouch! Otherwise a nice wooded park with Six Flags close, there were families with young children squealing while using the playground right next to A31. If I return I'll ask for sites A34 thru A45. Hickory Hollow Campground, Utica, Illinois

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to stop and spend the night. Brochure warns of high pressure water, I found almost 60 psi. Plenty of spots open on a Sunday night in May '17. Did not use wifi. Ok AT&T and Verizon signals. Pool appeared out of order as it was only 1/3 filled. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground in a Motorhome.

Nashville KOA, Nashville, Tennessee

Overall Rating:

The nicest KOA we've stayed at. Very nice pool. Relatively spacious sites. As of May, 2017 some parts of the park had newly paved roads. WIFI ok. Verizon and ATT signals good ... you are in a big city. Trash picked up each morning. Breakfast available at main office. Will return. We camped at Nashville KOA in a Motorhome.

Jennings KOA (formerly Jennings Outdoor Resort Trav-L-Park), Jennings, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

When I reserved, they told me to pull in and pick any spot as I arrived on a Sunday and the office is closed on Sundays. On arrival, no issue with picking a spot as in mid-May the park was mostly empty. I picked a spot with no neighbors on either side. Neighbors would probably be pretty close. No Wifi. Clean. Near the highway but not obnoxious. Pool looked nice, didn't use. Laundramat clean. Bathrooms antiquated, but I would have used them if necessary. Will stay here again. Overall Rating:

Large RV park. Arrived after dark. Paperwork to site left at office. Hardly anyone there when I visited in early September. Nice concrete pad. Very good wifi. Nice bike/walk path attached to site. Would return if on my way through this area, not a destination park for me, for others a nearby casino may be an attraction. We camped at Follow the River RV Resort in a Motorhome.
