Hixton / Alma Center KOA, Hixton, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park, site 60 was gorgeous: on a hill with a steep approach and descent, but just go slow. Stair step design of sites, means your porch is above neighbors utilities with a bush separating sites. Great!

We were here late season and should have stayed an extra day or two to enjoy. Obligatory KOA railroad track nearby, loud truck traffic passing by on road, both of which you learn to ignore. Dark at night so great star gazing site. Friendly staff, weak wifi. 1 or 2 bars for ATT & Verizon. Would stay here again. We camped at Hixton / Alma Center KOA in a Motorhome.

Chicago Northwest KOA, Union, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

Tight entrance to park. Park is on the small side. Site 115 required 3 pads on front right tire to level without tire coming off ground: in other words sewage line (for my coach) had to run up hill. All staff was very friendly. Long pull thru sites. Was quiet at night. Very family oriented. We camped at Chicago Northwest KOA in a Motorhome.

An hour from Chicago on a toll road. Road Runner and T/A Diesel stops very close. Donley's Wild West Town (theme park?) next door.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp-Resort at Raintree Lake, Scottsburg, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Nice quaint park. Admins met us after hours (8pm) to do paperwork as I intended to leave before the office opened (9am). Site 79 was relatively flat, no trees for good satellite, no cable, 5 over the air stations, huge open expanse in the front for a nice grassy wooded view where tenters camp. Major complaint was that sewer was four "standard" links away (at least that is how many my neighbor had) so I could not hook up sewer. (Who carries four sewer links? I have a third as a backup for my two ... not as a standard use case) Stayed one night. A lot of full timers. Plenty of activities for the kiddos. Yogi Bear makes apperances and they have a hay ride. Off the interstate a ways. Minimal noise. No train. 2 bars on Verizon and ATT. No site wifi. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp-Resort at Raintree Lake in a Motorhome.

St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA, Eureka, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

About 30% of KOA's I stay have a railroad nearby ... or you can hear one in the distance. This one has a freight line that runs over a bridge about 100 yards away from A31. My RV shook as each one passed, at least one an hour all night ... ouch! Otherwise a nice wooded park with Six Flags close, there were families with young children squealing while using the playground right next to A31. If I return I'll ask for sites A34 thru A45. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Hickory Hollow Campground, Utica, Illinois

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to stop and spend the night. Brochure warns of high pressure water, I found almost 60 psi. Plenty of spots open on a Sunday night in May '17. Did not use wifi. Ok AT&T and Verizon signals. Pool appeared out of order as it was only 1/3 filled. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground in a Motorhome.

Nashville KOA, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

The nicest KOA we've stayed at. Very nice pool. Relatively spacious sites. As of May, 2017 some parts of the park had newly paved roads. WIFI ok. Verizon and ATT signals good ... you are in a big city. Trash picked up each morning. Breakfast available at main office. Will return. We camped at Nashville KOA in a Motorhome.

Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, Rossville, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Arrived at 6:50, office had just closed for night, was given site map by an employee and was pointed to site. Quiet park. Adequate park for an overnight stay. Would stay here again. Wifi improved as night progressed. Verizon and Att had 4G speeds. No obstructions for satellite dish. We camped at Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga in a Motorhome.

Jennings Outdoor Resort Trav-L-Park, Jennings, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

When I reserved, they told me to pull in and pick any spot as I arrived on a Sunday and the office is closed on Sundays. On arrival, no issue with picking a spot as in mid-May the park was mostly empty. I picked a spot with no neighbors on either side. Neighbors would probably be pretty close. No Wifi. Clean. Near the highway but not obnoxious. Pool looked nice, didn't use. Laundramat clean. Bathrooms antiquated, but I would have used them if necessary. Will stay here again. We camped at Jennings Outdoor Resort Trav-L-Park in a Motorhome.

Follow the River RV Resort, Florence, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Large RV park. Arrived after dark. Paperwork to site left at office. Hardly anyone there when I visited in early September. Nice concrete pad. Very good wifi. Nice bike/walk path attached to site. Would return if on my way through this area, not a destination park for me, for others a nearby casino may be an attraction. We camped at Follow the River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sweetwater / I-75 / Exit 62 KOA, Sweetwater, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Typical smaller site KOA. My asphalt site had several bumps in it, so needed a few pads to assist with leveling. While typical close spacing for most, site 39 has no one on its left. Entrance to park is on a tight road, pay attention on the approach as the entrance to the park is on a curve. Look for the mirror for oncoming traffic you can't see around the bend. I would return for an overnight. We camped at Sweetwater / I-75 / Exit 62 KOA in a Motorhome.

Crawfordsville KOA, Crawfordsville, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

My rating of 5 (the lowest on my trip so far in Aug, 2016) is based on the following ... When I checked in they did not provide me with a Wifi code on the handy sheet that KOA campsites hand out. By the time I realized that the office had closed. The site also does not provide cable. With all of the trees you can't use your satellite if you have one. So was not very level. When I arrive it was raining and a small stream of water was running through my campsite. There is storage of RV's on the east end of the site. Nice wooded site, but sites are close together. OK if you are just spending one night. We camped at Crawfordsville KOA in a Motorhome.

Big Rock Campground, Big Rock, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Clean open park, surrounded by farm land. Wooded area to the south. Nice flat gravel pads. No sewer at pad, dump station at exit. Bring an extension hose for your water. Sounds of trains passing occasionally. On a Wednesday the week before Labor Day weekend the park was deserted. WONDERFUL bike or walking path through fields and around a water filled quarry. I'd return if the park was not full. We camped at Big Rock Campground in a Motorhome.

Scales Lake Park, Boonville, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

A small, wooded, public park. My site was in the open. Some longer term guests were evident. Staff at the front desk were friendly. Flat gravel sites, I had to back into site #26 but thank heavens the site in front was open so I went in and back in straight. Good AT&T and Verizon signal, no wifi. We camped at Scales Lake Park in a Motorhome.

Bluffton / Fort Wayne South KOA, Bluffton, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This KOA has very few trees, so good satellite reception, but hot as blazes in the afternoon. There appear to be several full timers along the south edge of the campground. The Saturday and Sunday I was there the park was about 1/2 full. The lady at the front desk was very friendly. Nice in a pinch, but I would not go out of my way to return here. No cable. Excellent Verizon and AT&T coverage. We camped at Bluffton / Fort Wayne South KOA in a Motorhome.

South Bend / Elkhart North KOA, Granger, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Newbie here. 1st KOA visit so ratings may be skewed for awhile. Clean, nice tall trees, wonderful smell of pine. Check in swift, followed attendant to site, was told to check in after setting up. Good 120 volt power. Two accessible sewer ports at this site.

Train passes "close by," did not bother me. The campsite emptied out on Friday but filled back up Saturday night. Pass thru's have good length, sites quite close together. Excellent cable (50+ channels), WiFi so/so, 4+ bars on Verizon and AT&T. We camped at South Bend / Elkhart North KOA in a Motorhome.
