Carthage Gap RV Park LLC, Coolville, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very helpful, friendly host who took us to our site and leveled MH with planks. Even offered to help with hookups. Overnight sites were too close together - we were less than 4 foot from our rather large neighbor (big RV). Mostly seasonal sites but nobody there because...it was forecast to rain. GPS could not locate campground location, so do not rely on that. Just off 50E about 2 miles. Quiet, well-cared-for campground with narrow roads. We camped at Carthage Gap RV Park LLC in a Motorhome.

Maple River Campgound, Pewamo, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Mostly seasonal campers. Way off the beaten path - we drove down a lonely dirt road to get there. Difficult to find a level spot to park MH, but electric was good and water pressure excellent. Our site was downwind of the pit toilets (encased in a building, but still quite stinky). Good place to walk or ride a bike. Well-maintained lawns and sites. A lot of friendly ducks. River access if you are so inclined. We camped at Maple River Campgound in a Motorhome.

Castle Rock Campark, Saint Ignace, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We had a Lake Huron-front site with water and electric. Dump station was located at other end of campground - which we frequented often. The lakeview from inside the MH was quite nice. The beach is in need of cleaning and rehabilitation. The water was clear and cool and about 6 inches deep for several hundred feet out. Very buggy when not raining, and it rained just about every day (we like rain!) Easy walking on paved roads within the park. Back-in site was level, not spacious with natural (trees and brush) boundaries. We camped at Castle Rock Campark in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Pleasant hosts who picked up trash several times a day. Sites were quiet, level, and lakefront was picturesque. Decent laundry room with 3 of each. Interior roads were good for walking or biking. A small unkempt playground was available.

Orchard Beach State Park, Manistee, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The state park should be named "Orchard NO-BEACH State Park". The first site we were assigned we could not get the MH leveled. We were graciously moved to Lake Michigan-front; a pull-through site. 100 or so stairs practically straight down to...no beach! The lake view was beautiful from the campsite, but lake access was nonexistent. We called the office and demanded our money back, stayed the night (cannot drive in the dark), experienced a fierce thunderstorm with wind that shook our motorhome and lasted for several hours. The park brochures depict a beach, but there has been no beach for about 15 years!

May be a good place to pull off the road for a night, if need be. Just be sure to get an interior or lakefront site. The sites near the entrance are unlevel and back to a well-traveled state road. We camped at Orchard Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Holland State Park, Holland, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

If you like a parking lot, then you will love this campground. Level, tight spots on hot asphalt in bright sunshine. Beach was OK, but crowded on weekends (even the first weekend in June). Stayed two nights in two different sites in beach area, then several more nights in wooded area (2 mi from beach). Wooded sites were horrible to level MH. Nice walking on paved/gravel park roads. About a half a mile to dune climb boardwalk - in good condition with nice views of Macatawa Lake and Lake Michigan.

If you do not mind crowds and a fairly long walk to the beach, hot and packed-in like sardines, enjoying (?) other's conversation, music, dogs, and campfires...you'll like it! We camped at Holland State Park in a Motorhome.

Sterling State Park, Monroe, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Really enjoyed the cotton blowing around - we thought it was dandelion pods! Stayed one night as stop-over. Level hard-surfaced pad. Our site offered view of Lake Erie. Website stated that all sites were booked, but very few were occupied (which we greatly appreciated). We camped at Sterling State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Beach was small but nicer than most in MI. Collected small shells and shiny rocks. Nice for sitting even though it was windy.

Harts Content Campground, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This was an overnight stay for us on an extended trip NW. The site was level but very wet due to much rain. Roads to the campground are rural, narrow, steep hills and sharp curves. Not recommended for larger RV's (ours is 32 foot). Friendly seasonals and staff. Store/office not open during our stay. Watch the signs and LOOK for park entrance sign before pulling into unknown unpaved roadways. We camped at Harts Content Campground in a Motorhome.

Bar Harbor RV Park & Marina, Abingdon, Maryland

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

There was so much duck-poop all over the grounds, it was difficult to walk around the site or the campground. A pretty water view, but noisy due to a busy road and railroad just west of the campground. There were only a couple other transient RVers; most of the park was filled with permanent residents. The sites are very close to each other: it would be claustrophobic in the summer. We would NOT visit this park again. We camped at Bar Harbor RV Park & Marina in a Motorhome.

Village Scene Mobile Home Park, Hatfield, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Easy in and out for 32 foot motorhome. Utilities easy to access. No cable TV. A bit of road noise if you are parked too close to the road which runs all night. Would avail ourselves of this park again. We camped at Village Scene Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.

Delaware Seashore State Park, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed in Site 362 just opposite a laundry/restroom building with 24 hour bright lights. Sites are narrow but level and pull-through. Walk to beach was easy with sidewalks most of the way. Advertised distance to beach was actually about a quarter mile. We camped at Delaware Seashore State Park in a Motorhome.
