Natural Bridge State Resort Park - Middle Fork Campground, Slade, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

2nd time back. B12 this time to try to get on a side where the hookups where. WeLL the water was but the power was 60' away. We didn't have an extension so used a 110v adapter and extension cord. Most all sites have no room for tow vehicle, must park along the road in the grass. Nice place though. We came in with the creek very high and camped beside it. Would have to be a bad one to have to worry with flooding. Stream made sleeping peaceful. Bathroom and shower was clean. Needs better exhaust fan. Plenty to see and do around Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge. Now has free wi-fi and worked pretty well. We camped at Natural Bridge State Resort Park - Middle Fork Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Carr Creek State Park, Sassafras, Kentucky

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

Another home base park. They have worked on some sites adding new fire pits and fixing the grounds. Some still need attention. Bathrooms still very dated bare concrete floors with no heat and urinal covered up. Nice peaceful park. Mostly big trees shading everywhere. Trails to lake for boating and fishing. Beach within walking distance. We camped at Carr Creek State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Carr Creek State Park, Sassafras, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

After a rain I had a choice between a lake and a mud hole. I chose the mud hole. There was only a paved strip for the camper. No grass, no gravel, no pad beside. When it rained it was a river both in front and beside the camper. I built a bridge to get to the bathroom. I brought gravel the second night to keep from tracking. Similar problems beside me. Neighbor had grass but was full of water and ended up a mud hole. Bathrooms are terrible. Bare concrete. One urinal not working. Showers have no locks. Water temp changes at random. Wear flip flops!! I know other sites are nice. They could fix the others. I'd be pressed to return because 5 miles up the road is much nicer. We camped at Carr Creek State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Littcarr Campground - COE, Vicco, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

All nice things said are true so I'm focusing on you picking a site. B1-B11 are on a hill make sure you have trailer brakes and something that will pull it. B7-B11 require you to back up the hill in order to park. B4,B6,B8,B10 max is about 30'. B2 is a very large all concrete pad beside the bath / shower but is full sun. I'd recommend this bath / shower because it newer and less crowded. 28,30,32,34,35 are along a stream although about 30' is you max for 32,34 also spots 29-35 are a tight road meaning if your over 30' you'll be using the neighbors area across from you to maneuver in and out. 29,31,33 will require 4-6" lift on left side. 25,26,27, 35 have larger areas. 16 will require 6-8" lift in the front. 30 requires 4-6" lift on right side. We stayed in 34 which we loved. It was under a tree. We laid in our popup with the back window open and listened to the stream. Docks are along the stream and a big turning / parking area if you have boats. Gate does close at 10pm but don't be alarmed if you have a emergency you can open and shut it at will. Also we had four visitors and they didn't charge them the fee. You do have to take garage all the way to the entrance. Ice and wood on site. And yes we like to burn wood in the mountains. We fix every meal on the fire. All spots are back in except B2. We camped at Littcarr Campground - COE in a Tent Trailer.

Gas station / market / restaurant / car wash is 3 miles down the road toward Hindman on 160. Beach area is 5 miles away next to the Carr Creek Campground. Brochure given for things to do in the area.

Natural Bridge State Resort Park - Middle Fork Campground, Slade, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our first camping trip here. Plenty to see and do. The bathroom have the gym / pool feel. Meaning you'll want to where flip flops in the shower. Garbage drop off is close. Stores within 3 miles. Had a puddling issue at our site after rain. The fire pit and half our "yard" was under water. We would stay again based on the things to see and do not based on a super nice camping experience. And like others have said odd numbers will have opposite hookups. Whittleton campground is worse. B19-B26 will require 3-6" lift on left side. B1-B5 will require lift 6-8" in the front and 3-6" lift on left side. We camped at Natural Bridge State Resort Park - Middle Fork Campground in a Tent Trailer.
