A well maintained older park. Everything worked well. Nearly full most of the year so call ahead. I tried to come back a few months later and couldn't get a site because they were full. Close to Chetco River and Harbor public beach.

Date of Stay:

This park is an old KOA park. There are a number of full time working families living here. Everything worked well except cable. They told us cable does not work at all sites. They didn't know which sites did have cable. Our site didn't. I don't like paying for something I can't get. Park is north of town on a busy highway. Be careful.

Date of Stay:

Small park only about ten sites all full hookups. Walking distance to bluff overlooking the ocean. Glass beach is about a mile away. Most of the glass is gone because it was sold off by the city to a scrap dealer. Ocean rise has eroded the bluff in this area and is subject to collapse so be careful. Our rate was based on a four night special.

Not my first choice. The only other park in this area was full. If I had seen the showers and restrooms first I would have kept on going. Didn't stay long because we need decent showers. The office was closed the entire time we were here. Some guy came around and swiped our card on his I phone. I wasn't comfortable with this. The worst thing was how dirty the restrooms and showers were. I've seen bad, but this was a health hazard. There is NO WIFI or cable. We need get a couple of channels OTA but not too good. I would not recommend this park.

A run down KOA that is hard to get into and over priced. This was not our first choice, the only other park in the area was full. Not many RV parks on this leg of I-5. We called ahead and confirmed they had cable. This is important to us. When we got there and set up we found the cable was fading in and out. I reported it and they came out in a few hours, but could not fix it. They stopped working because it was quitting time. We didn't have cable as they advertised. The wifi cuts you off after only a few minutes. If your in the middle of something you may get cut off. This happened to me and I was not happy. I would not stay here again.

Not much to choose from in these parts. This is an older park with about 75% of the sites occupied by permanent residents. They were a mix of some down and out to working people to retirees trying to make that SS check feed and house them. We didn't have any trouble with anyone. Everybody kept to themselves. Everything worked as it should and even though the park is situated along side the Spaceport and near a rail yard the noise wasn't bad. I would stay here again.

Out of the way park, but easy on and off I-40. Hedges separating sites gave a sense of privacy. Good cell phone and mifi reception. No cable, we received a number of OTA channels from Arizona and Nevada.

Good location in scenic area. Easy on and off I-40. Because there is a truck stop across the road it is quite noisy most of the time with trucks coming in and going out. Lava rock is used for road and site bed. It has, over time, pulverized into a fine powder. When it is dry this creates a red dust that settles on everything. Park was very busy this time of the year with people headed south and down for winter. Staff was great.

Very well maintained, neat and clean park. Even though it was on the approach to an airport close to a highway and rail yard, noise wasn't a problem. Park was very busy at this time of year filling up at night and emptying each morning. Full hook ups with cable and wifi that worked well. Like most parks wifi worked better in the AM than the PM. Free coffee in your cup and a snack bar made my stay enjoyable. I would stay here again. Easy on and off I-40.

Stayed here five nights and I believe this is the best campgrounds New Mexico has to offer. Very remote, but it's worth the drive. Roads are good, but winding and steep in some places. Spaces are okay for small to moderate RVs, but over 30' may be difficult. My site had a beautiful view of the lake and the Colorado Rockies in the distance. The site was a pull through, but there was a tree in the way so I backed in. This is one of the only New Mexico State Parks that has a dump station and it has two. I will be back.

We called ahead, but they wouldn't take a reservation. We believed we would be paying rate on website, but when we arrived the rate was much higher. If it was up to me we would not have stayed there. Very poorly maintained park. It is typical of RV parks that don't reinvest in property, but keep raising prices. There are several RV parks nears Taos and all are over priced. This one is the worst. Sites are very small. We had to park beside our travel trailer. It was so close we could barely open the doors. Everything worked as it should except we were without cable a few days because carrier only comes to town once a week. I did not feel comfortable here because it is in a rough area not in Taos. We will not stay here again.

City RV park with a lot of road noise. Sits on a very busy highway and it can be a little difficult get out of during the day. All the utilities worked okay, but sites are close together. It rained while we were there and it did get muddy.

Stopped here for a two night rest. Found park to be okay for what we needed. I was impressed with the showers and restrooms. The best I had seen in a while. We used our mifi because their wifi was a bit slow. There was a little traffic through the park because they have the closest dump station to Clayton Lake State Park. A lot of overnighters stay here, but it is quiet at night. Staff was okay, but we did enjoy the resident stray cat that makes her home there. She loves the treats she gets from guests. We would stay here again.

Nice remote area along a lake. The big problem I had was we were very far from restrooms and showers. The restrooms they did have were not clean and were well worn. The grounds were well kept and clean. The loop that I stayed had a lot of construction workers with rigs too big for the sites and vehicles were parked all over the grassy areas. No one seems to enforce the rules. Noise was bad during the day and night. I would not stay here again.

Remote campground that is very popular swimming hole for locals. Well maintained grounds, but restrooms are well worn that have been treated poorly in the past. They have added new sites to an already crowded campground. The exit lane at the gatehouse has tire shredders so be careful you don't go in the wrong way. Road from Rte. 66 in very poor condition so take S. 257th south of Kellyville, OK.
