Sunrise Campground, Bozeman, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The park was nice, if a bit tightly spaced. Gravel with a small amount of grass. Several trees. The main problem was the noise from both I-90 and the train tracks across the road. If your not a very sound sleeper, better look elsewhere. I usually love the sound of a train. But this was just too close and too many trains at night. Also Verison was very slow. The camp WiFi wasn't too good either. We camped at Sunrise Campground in a Motorhome.

If you want to see Pallasade Falls, I suggest a truck or Jeep. We have a small car and the road was bad. So we turned around and came back.

Henrys Lake State Park, Island Park, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Outstanding park. Amazing views. Close to Yellowstone and other attractions. Easy off main highway (20), but far enough that there is no road noise. Our site had no sewer - the only negative. But some did. Level, paved sites. Friendly staff. If in the area this is the only place I'd stay. We camped at Henrys Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park right off Hwy 191. Our site was new and very roomy. Easy to maneuver. It was full for Memorial Day weekend, but not noisy. Near many attractions. Would stay here again. We camped at Vernal / Dinosaurland KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Red Canyon was beautiful. Dinosaur National Monument was a bit disappointing, but ok since we were in the area. Fantasy Canyon was interesting but REALLY off the beaten path. Flaming Gorge Damn was a pretty area. Ouray National Wildlife preserve was interesting. Saw deer, wild horses, porcupine, and other critters. Breakfast at Naples Country Store was great.

Laramie KOA, Laramie, Wyoming

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Sites were VERY close together. If someone had been next to us with slides, we would have had to duck under to get to picnic table. Right next to I-80, and I mean no more than 150-200'. Noise was horrible at all hours of the day and night. Just a gravel parking lot with hookups. Definitely NOT worth the price. It was easy on/off the highway, but that didn't offset the other negatives. Look for someplace else. We camped at Laramie KOA in a Motorhome.

Belleville Mobile Home Estates, Fenton, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Mostly permanent residents, but very nice. Concrete pads, convenient, big rig friendly. Manager was OUTSTANDING!! We had waited for over two hours at another campground to check in - no one in office or answering phone. Called and this park's manager helped us out. Thank goodness she had vacancies or we'd probably still be waiting!! Will stay here every time we're in the area. We camped at Belleville Mobile Home Estates in a Motorhome.

Fossil Creek RV Park, Russell, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

VERY unkept. This place is a dump. Worst place I've ever stayed in. Only positive is that the site was level. Owner very rude. Office hours said 4-10 pm. At 4:30 went in to find her watching TV, and she was upset that I didn't see the sign that said she wasn't there and would be back later. Try anyplace else in the area if you have to stop near there. We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Vale Trails RV Park , Vale, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Owners are outstanding. They go the extra mile. Tight for a big rig, but doable. Would have rated 5 stars but for the gravel. There is a stockyard behind, but it was not a bother even when the auction was going on. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Vale Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

Great park. I wish they were all this well laid out and maintained. Paved/gravel combo, level sites, easy access for big rigs, easy on/off interstate. Nicely landscaped and maintained. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Wine Country RV Park in a Motorhome.

Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park, Port Angeles, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

On a big hill so not great for big rigs with toads. Tight turns, lots of trees scratching the sides. Small spaces. Few for big rigs and no parking for the tow. Many parked in from of their rig partially blocking the road. First site we were in we couldn't level, even with blocks. They were nice enough to move us. Very dusty. Lots of road noise. Very expensive gas. But it was the only thing available in the area. . Might be an ok place for small campers. But we wouldn't stay there again. We camped at Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sandy Riverfront RV Resort, Troutdale, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park on a creek and a river. Many full time residents, but very well kept. Newer units, plants, convenient to Troutdale (two blocks) and many surrounding attractions. Don't follow your GPS. Call for directions or you will end up on a one lane bridge. Take exit 16 NOT 18. Also it is easy to miss. Go thru Troutdale, the road curves right, you go past a barn museum and the road curves left, and you come to a narrow bridge with a white railing. It is the first left after the bridge. We camped at Sandy Riverfront RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to the Local Cow in Gresham for a great organic, grass-fed hamburger and garlic fries. Traffic in Portland is HORRIBLE- avoid it. If you go to the falls go VERY early, it's very crowded. Also approach from the east, exit 35. Less traffic that direction on Columbia River Highway. If you need RV repair, call Wayne's mobile repair. He comes out quickly - like as soon as you call. No two-three week wait. Does quality work.

Rogue River RV Park, Shady Cove, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park on the river. Would have given it a 5 if there was more room to maneuver and between sites. Get a river view if you can. Most of the non-river sites seemed to be long term anyway. Our site was a pull in - forward (facing the river). Clean, well kept, great office staff. We camped at Rogue River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Misty River RV Park (formerly Wilson River RV Park), Tillamook, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The entrance to this park is a DANGEROUS place - an accident waiting to happen. It is on a steep hill and only one vehicle can fit at a time. But you can't see that until you're already committed. We had a bad situation leaving. A guy turned in as we were trying to make the turn out. He couldn't go forward and we couldn't go back. Very scary. Had to creep slowly out into the highway without being able to see past him. Otherwise this place had a pretty little river, but most of the occupants were full timers, and most of the rigs, cars, and trucks were older. People camping there were very nice, though. Sites were tight, and the one we had almost impossible to get into. Literally took several back ups/pull forwards to miss some big pipes in the road and a boat parked on the grass between our site and our neighbor. Office staff not the best either. We only stayed there because it was all I could find in the area. But we won't be back. We camped at Misty River RV Park (formerly Wilson River RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Clark County Shooting Complex, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to stay if you want to be out of the Vegas congestion but still close enough to visit daily. No frills, but a clean, well run park. It is mainly a gravel strip with full hookups. No fire ring or picnic table, but that's not why we came. If there were a few trees for shade this would be a 10!! There is shooting, it is a range after all. But we didn't find it bothersome. I've been more aggravated with boom boxes till all hours at other parks. They shut it down at 10, so not bad at all. We will stay here anytime we're in the area. We camped at Clark County Shooting Complex in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Antelope Canyon (both upper & lower); canyon boat tour; eat at In the Grand, not for the food (mediocre) but for the entertainment.

See Marble Canyon and Lee's Ferry, and while out that way eat at Cliff Dwellers and get their home made fries.
