Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground, Elko, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice quiet overnight stop. Level pull-throughs large enough for our class A and toad. Grass and a patio between sites. Several large grass fields and a fenced run for excellent dog walking. We didn't use the wifi but Verizon data was fine. Others seemed to enjoy the pool. We'll be back. We camped at Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Campfire Lodgings, Asheville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

In a 40 foot class A towing, the road up is awful -- unpaved, very steep, very curvy, potholed, large bumps. Once up at the campground, our deluxe spot was level and private. The wifi worked well. The overlook view is lovely. There's no grass for walking dogs, but there are several wide trails with just gentle slopes. The warning about the bear and her cubs who had been seen in the campground made for pretty nervous walking though. The campground is convenient to Asheville downtown and tourist sites. We would not return because it's just too scary driving in. We camped at Campfire Lodgings in a Motorhome.

Shenandoah Valley Campground, Mount Jackson, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very good overnight stop. It's easy on and off the highway. The pull through spots are long and level. There's grass on both sides. There's a nicely sized, well-built dog run. Check in was efficient and easy. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Clayton Park Recreational Area, Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We desperately called for a spot over the holiday weekend, on very short notice. The staff and owners were incredibly helpful. I can't say enough good things about them. The park is on lovely Lake Henry and it is easy to take advantage of it: boats for rent, benches for viewing, spots with a view. There is an adequate fenced dog run, lots of grass, paths for dog walking, and a boat launching ramp. The landscaping is attractive and cable was being installed while we were there. The wifi was speedy and available, which is good because we had no Verizon signal. We would definitely return. We camped at Clayton Park Recreational Area in a Motorhome.

Valleyview Farm & Campground, Waymart, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Maybe once upon a time, Valley View was a farm, but now it is fields of mown and mostly unmown grass. Maybe once it was a campground, but now it is a trailer park. We had a reservation but although the office was open, there was no one around and no information on a spot for us. A sign said to pick a spot. So we entered the campground. We were greeted by a barking, lunging pit bull on a tie down chain.

Fortunately a resident came out to warn us to find a ground-stone pad site because the grass spots were so saturated by rain that we'd sink. It took us an hour to get level. It was backin, so we had to disconnect our tow vehicle and park next to the bus. Once set, I took out our dogs for a walk. But now the pit bull had gotten loose and was running around the park. The residents across from us were outside and screaming at each other. We left early the next morning and definitely won't be back! We camped at Valleyview Farm & Campground in a Motorhome.

Interlake RV Park, Rhinebeck, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here before and were reluctant to drive the hilly windy road again. But this time we had a level spot right across from the office that was an easy back-in. We had good Verizon service and wifi. Although the campground is pretty with lots of mature trees and a small fishing pond, our spot was pretty bare. There is no dog run but lots of grassy areas for walking. It's an easy 15 minute ride to Rhinebeck's many restaurants, several of which have outdoor seating where dogs are allowed. The office staff was very helpful. We'd definitely return if we're in the area. We camped at Interlake RV Park in a Motorhome.

Newfound RV Park, Bristol, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small quiet campground with level sites and lots of grass behind the exterior ones. The sites are a sandy gravel which got into the coach and was difficult to get out. The road had a lot of potholes. There is a very small fenced dog run with an overflowing can which still hadn't been emptied 3 days after we arrived. The rest of the park seemed clean though. There is a nice wooded trail, but watch out for unleashed dogs. The campground is well located across from lovely Newfound Lake. We camped at Newfound RV Park in a Motorhome.

Woodland Hills Campground, Austerlitz, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a tale of 2 campgrounds. During the week, it is quiet, unpopulated, and has a wifi that works. On weekends, it has lots of people, activities for kids, and the wifi is unusable. Our Verizon data service was unusable at all times. There are primarily seasonal campers and the day use spots are not particularly level. There is lots of grass, a pretty little lake with a nice 1/2 mile unpaved loop road around it, and woods around the exterior sites. The staff is very helpful and the maintenance crew does a terrific job with the road and the grass. We had no TV, but the dogs and we enjoyed the property. It is very well located to enjoy the arts in the Berkshires with an under 30 minute drive to many of them. We camped at Woodland Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC), College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice layout for such a large and busy place. There are many multipurpose open space areas, like mini golf or adult workout or playgrounds or doggie areas. There is a trail totally around the park which gives over a mile walk. There is a large dog exercise area with 2 fenced runs. Lots of amenities. We would definitely return. We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Motorhome.

Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA), Wade, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely park. It looks more like a neighborhood than a campground because of its spacious layout. Easy dog walking and a nice sized dog enclosure. Close to the highway without any noticeable highway noise. We'll be back. We camped at Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA) in a Motorhome.

Flamingo Lake RV Resort, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

The park is a short drive off the highway. (Maybe too short because there is a lot of highway noise overnight. ) We arrived in the midst of torrential rains. The unpaved road and grassy areas were under water. By the next morning, the sites and roads were mostly drained. There is a long grassy area and a decent sized dog park, both of which were good for walking dogs. The sites are level and the hookups are conveniently placed. We camped at Flamingo Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Reed Bingham State Park, Adel, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a terrific park. The spots are large and private. There's a lovely lake and lots of grass and beautiful shade trees. The area around our campsite though was sandy and made for very messy dogs, and the trails were all closed for maintenance because we were there less than 2 weeks after hurricane Irma. We will definitely return to try again. We camped at Reed Bingham State Park in a Motorhome.

Capital City RV Park, Montgomery, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This an attractive, grassy campground with spacious level spots. The best amenities here, though, are for the dogs. And I mean that in the nicest way. There is an enormous fenced-in dog area and a walking area in grass completely around the park. I wish the fire ant mounds were less abundant though, since overall the park is very well-maintained. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Oklahoma City East KOA, Choctaw, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We had a large pull-thru site with a real patio and real patio furniture and a gas grill. Very nice. There was a small dirt dog run and a dusty dirt trail. Luckily, there were also a few grass fields. The sites near the pool were much tighter. It's easy access from the highway. We camped at Oklahoma City East KOA in a Motorhome.

Overnite RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We had a spacious pull-thru site next to the dog run, which I had requested. You couldn't see any other RVs, just grass and trees. There is a long grassy area for dog walking. It could have used some more mowing. It was easy to get to from I-40. We'd return. We camped at Overnite RV Park in a Motorhome.
