Newfound RV Park, Bristol, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small quiet campground with level sites and lots of grass behind the exterior ones. The sites are a sandy gravel which got into the coach and was difficult to get out. The road had a lot of potholes. There is a very small fenced dog run with an overflowing can which still hadn't been emptied 3 days after we arrived. The rest of the park seemed clean though. There is a nice wooded trail, but watch out for unleashed dogs. The campground is well located across from lovely Newfound Lake. We camped at Newfound RV Park in a Motorhome.

Woodland Hills Campground, Austerlitz, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a tale of 2 campgrounds. During the week, it is quiet, unpopulated, and has a wifi that works. On weekends, it has lots of people, activities for kids, and the wifi is unusable. Our Verizon data service was unusable at all times. There are primarily seasonal campers and the day use spots are not particularly level. There is lots of grass, a pretty little lake with a nice 1/2 mile unpaved loop road around it, and woods around the exterior sites. The staff is very helpful and the maintenance crew does a terrific job with the road and the grass. We had no TV, but the dogs and we enjoyed the property. It is very well located to enjoy the arts in the Berkshires with an under 30 minute drive to many of them. We camped at Woodland Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC), College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice layout for such a large and busy place. There are many multipurpose open space areas, like mini golf or adult workout or playgrounds or doggie areas. There is a trail totally around the park which gives over a mile walk. There is a large dog exercise area with 2 fenced runs. Lots of amenities. We would definitely return. We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Motorhome.

Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA), Wade, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely park. It looks more like a neighborhood than a campground because of its spacious layout. Easy dog walking and a nice sized dog enclosure. Close to the highway without any noticeable highway noise. We'll be back. We camped at Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA) in a Motorhome.

Flamingo Lake RV Resort, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

The park is a short drive off the highway. (Maybe too short because there is a lot of highway noise overnight. ) We arrived in the midst of torrential rains. The unpaved road and grassy areas were under water. By the next morning, the sites and roads were mostly drained. There is a long grassy area and a decent sized dog park, both of which were good for walking dogs. The sites are level and the hookups are conveniently placed. We camped at Flamingo Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Reed Bingham State Park, Adel, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a terrific park. The spots are large and private. There's a lovely lake and lots of grass and beautiful shade trees. The area around our campsite though was sandy and made for very messy dogs, and the trails were all closed for maintenance because we were there less than 2 weeks after hurricane Irma. We will definitely return to try again. We camped at Reed Bingham State Park in a Motorhome.

Capital City RV Park, Montgomery, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This an attractive, grassy campground with spacious level spots. The best amenities here, though, are for the dogs. And I mean that in the nicest way. There is an enormous fenced-in dog area and a walking area in grass completely around the park. I wish the fire ant mounds were less abundant though, since overall the park is very well-maintained. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Oklahoma City East KOA, Choctaw, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We had a large pull-thru site with a real patio and real patio furniture and a gas grill. Very nice. There was a small dirt dog run and a dusty dirt trail. Luckily, there were also a few grass fields. The sites near the pool were much tighter. It's easy access from the highway. We camped at Oklahoma City East KOA in a Motorhome.

Overnite RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We had a spacious pull-thru site next to the dog run, which I had requested. You couldn't see any other RVs, just grass and trees. There is a long grassy area for dog walking. It could have used some more mowing. It was easy to get to from I-40. We'd return. We camped at Overnite RV Park in a Motorhome.

Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a combination RV park / sculpture garden - very Santa Fe. The spots are separated by wild flowers, which gives some attractive privacy, but the sites are relatively small and it is dusty. There is a nice sized dog run, which actually is big enough for the dogs to run. There is also a walking trail around the campground with pretty views. The back-in spots around the periphery share those views. We had a somewhat larger pull-thru spot next to the office, but it was very busy. Overall a pleasant, convenient place to stay. We would return. We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Route 66 RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground. The spots are huge, far apart and level. There are lots of amenities. There are 2 nice enclosed dog runs. The spots in the middle are back in with grass. The pull-thrus have gravel. The campground is completely surrounded by a fence and has lots of pretty dog walking. There aren't any trees or shade, the only negative of note. We didn't get to the attached casino. We would definitely return. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Motorhome.

J & H RV Park (55 + Park), Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a decent small campground with a lot of seasonal campers. The sites are adequately sized and level. There are a few sitting areas with shade and water features, all of which have large "No Pets" signs. The dog run is small with alternating dirt and tufts of grass. Although they advertise that they have cable and wifi, they have no cable at all and essentially no wifi. The Verizon cell service is also terrible, although it is fine a few miles down the road. We will certainly not be returning. We camped at J & H RV Park (55 + Park) in a Motorhome.

LVM Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely campground with lots of amenities. The staff was extremely helpful. We were traveling with dogs and the temperature was over 100, so we wanted to change to a grassy spot (which was not what we had reserved). The staff gave us exactly what we needed -- not only grassy but spacious and private too. The wifi worked well, it was quiet, and the grounds were very attractive and well-maintained. My only gripe is that the dog run was not fenced. It was big and grassy but outside the gate with cars regularly driving by. Even so, we would definitely stay here again. We camped at LVM Resort in a Motorhome.

WillowWind RV Park, Hurricane, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This seems to be a park primarily for seasonal or longer term campers. We opted to stay in a satellite-friendly site (no shade), so we could be near the dog walking area. The site was level and nicely spaced. The dog walking area was 8 - 10 foot wide elevated packed dirt with overgrown trees, no enclosure, and a lower border of rocks. There is also an enclosed area behind the office, long and narrow with rock footing. The dog washing station was barely large enough for my small corgi. There are actually 3 entrances to the park, two for vehicles and one behind one of the sites where people can (and do) walk in off the street. None of the sites had picnic tables; this was a first for us. The park is well-kept, the wifi worked, and we had good Verizon service. We camped at WillowWind RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cannonville / Bryce Valley KOA, Cannonville, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the lower section of the park to be near the dog run. (We shouldn't have bothered. Although it was enclosed, it was tiny and packed dirt. ) The lower sites are separated by grass. The sites and the interior roads are rocks (which makes for tiring dog walking). The upper sites were smaller but had views of the red cliffs. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. They offer a pancake breakfast in the mornings and ice cream sundaes on Saturday night. And, importantly, it is close to Bryce. We camped at Cannonville / Bryce Valley KOA in a Motorhome.
