Rochester Marion KOA, Rochester, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

We were in a 38 foot motorhome towing. We needed help getting in and leaving. The internal roads are torturous. The spots are level but short and very close together. There are acres of grass around them though. The highway is close but not noticeably noisy. This is NOT big rig friendly. We camped at Rochester Marion KOA in a Motorhome.

River Park Campground, Menominee, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small, manicured county park with level spots, good wifi, located right on the river. However, it is also located directly across from a sewage treatment plant, next to a railroad with trains that blast their horns at 2 AM and again at 3 AM, and down the block from an industrial complex that seems to run day and night. If that weren't enough, their pretty green grass is littered with duck and goose droppings. We won't be stopping here again. We camped at River Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Sterling State Park, Monroe, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The park borders Lake Erie, so it is a beautiful setting. The pads are paved and very long but very basic. There is no screening between spots, but they are far enough apart that it still feels private. However, there are a lot of beach day use people in addition to campers. Dogs are allowed on leash on the paved walkway, but not on the beach. There is a park day use fee of $15 in addition to the campground fee, even if you arrive late in the day. We camped at Sterling State Park in a Motorhome.

Kentucky Horse Park Campground, Lexington, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here as an overnight spot. We have a 38 foot RV and could not get level in the full hookup spot we were assigned. It was supposed to be one of the more level spots in the campground. The office assisted us and eventually we found a spot in the primitive electric area with 30 amp service. If you have a larger motor home, this is NOT the campground for you. That said, there are lovely fields for walking dogs and it is well located and visually appealing. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Up the Creek RV Camp, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived after the office had closed. All the information about our site was waiting for us. The level gravel site was easy to pull into and drained well. It was very quiet and had ample grass for dog walking. The dog run however was so full of trees it was not usable. We stayed for 3 nights and would definitely return. We camped at Up the Creek RV Camp in a Motorhome.
