Bull Run Regional Park, Centreville, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

The "pull-thru" is really just a little loop so you end up literally being parallel to the road which is 3 feet from your trailer. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

James Island County Park, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Beautifully shaded pull-thru sites, although not particularly level. Due to the trees, you don't really see your neighbors who are a decent distance away. Lots of amenities--lake, water park, pretty bike paths, amazing dog runs. They do little to maintain the site though. My fire ring literally had 4" of ash in it and the water faucet spewed water like a fountain. We camped at James Island County Park in a Travel Trailer.

Yogi Bear Jellystone Park, Bremen, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Since I was just staying overnight, and had no children to enjoy all of the activities, the price was a little too high but for a family planning to stay a couple of days, there always seemed to be things for the kids to do. Although the sites are level they are terraced, so that your utility hook-ups are down a short embankment from your trailer. We camped at Yogi Bear Jellystone Park in a Travel Trailer.

Mesquite Oasis RV Park, Odessa, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I picked up an entire kitchen garbage bag of trash just from my site. The weeds were all over the place and I spent most of the time removing the burrs from my clothes and dog's fur. Very desolate park with no landscaping--just desert that has not been tamed. Utilities were placed so far apart had to use two sewer hoses and two water hoses. We camped at Mesquite Oasis RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Dallas / Arlington KOA, Arlington, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

I never saw a staff member since the office is only open until 5:00 on Sundays and I arrived closer to 6:00. Very neat and well-maintained with lots of trees providing shade. Grass was so lush I almost couldn't find the sewer hook-up. Great dog park for both small and large dogs. We camped at Dallas / Arlington KOA in a Travel Trailer.

I almost passed it by since the KOA itself is off a very main thoroughfare and tucked out-of-site.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Madison, Madison, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Rules state that the user is responsible for keeping their area clean and obviously if the previous user hasn't followed this rule they just leave it for the next camper. I found a used Poopie bag and a broken leveling block in my site within 5 minutes of pulling in. My site was very off level for my 17' travel trailer requiring 3 leveling blocks under a tire. Everything closes at dusk--including the laundry room when it is finally cool enough to consider using the facility. Staff seem pre-occupied and completely disinterested in their campers. Gate code given to me did not work. Water, sewer and electric out too far with the water on one end and the sewer 8 feet the the opposite direction. WI-FI intermittent. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Madison in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Probably pretty kid-friendly. Looks like a great little water park with a surprisingly long water slide and a little lazy river as well as a wading and swim pool. Miniature golf, arcade games and a train that takes you around the premises would be fun for kids.

Texarkana KOA, Texarkana, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This was just an overnight stop for me but it is a beautiful park. It is literally off of the frontage road from I-30 so I heard the traffic even over the white-noise of my a/c in the second row back. Never had any interaction with a KOA employee although I think one was about to come fuss at me about my dogs until he saw the poopie bag I immediately removed from my pocket when one of them started to squat. We camped at Texarkana KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Natchez Trace State Park / Pin Oak Lake, Lexington, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

I only came as a stop for overnight and truly wished I could have stayed longer. Beautiful drive into the park (although it is a distance from the interstate) and the campground is placed on the hills above the lake so a beautiful view is seen by all. Camp hosts were wonderful in an emergency--kind and helpful. We camped at Natchez Trace State Park / Pin Oak Lake in a Travel Trailer.

I found their signage rather difficult and there was no one at the gate when I arrived at sundown, so first checking a campground map online would be helpful.

Sandusky / Bayshore KOA , Sandusky, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

Employees were not at all helpful and seemed to feel that we were taking up too much of their valuable time. Two pools--one well maintained (that everyone was swimming in) and one with green water (that was empty but open) Difficult to do laundry since the park staff took up most of the washers and dryers for cabin linens and cleaning rags. Lots of amenities for the kids. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Niagara Falls KOA, Grand Island, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

You are paying for the proximity to Niagara Falls, not for any special amenities. You actually end up sharing a wide driveway with a complete stranger who comes in from the opposite side of the pull thru. Thankfully they weren't crowded enough to warrant the "double-parking". Pinewood Lodge Campground, Plymouth, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

Charge extra for pets ($10 per night for 2). Will charge you for a full propane tank even if your tank is not completely empty (mine was at about 1/3 full so I didn't get it filled). Lots of rules and regulations. Absolutely nothing private about the showers--door opens to the shower curtains facing the door. Very few restrooms so my friends, who were unlucky enough not to have their own bathroom, had to really trek to use the facilities and being able to cut through my site cut off a little of the distance. We camped at Pinewood Lodge Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $38.00

Staff was wonderful and were very understanding when I had to stay an extra couple of days due to car trouble. Size and amenities are pretty varied from site to site--some you are right on the state highway, some have lots of wonderful space for family friends, some give you a not-so-breautiful view of the dumpster but all have several trees.
