Jolley Camper and Cottage Rental (formerly Jessen's RV Park), Ashton, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Quaint little park off of US-20 with lots of green space and a large off-leash area for dogs. Just outside of Ashton, ID, with outrageous views of the Teton range. Owner is friendly and accommodating. We camped at Jolley Camper and Cottage Rental (formerly Jessen's RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Hideaway RV Campground, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

They were one of few open in early may. The hosts were very nice. They give free drink tokens for the nearby bar, but that doesn't offset the outrageous price. Small lot, tight spaces. Clean, heated restroom and shower. We camped at Hideaway RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

West Yellowstone is a cute tourist trap. As with most towns next to a national park, expect high prices for the basics.

Rusty's RV Ranch, Rodeo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Rusty's RV Ranch is a nice little oasis in the desert. We stayed 3 nights. Sites were okay, but spartan. Seemed to have a lot of wasted space, but plenty of room for our RV and Truck. The Laundry/Clubhouse has a small pond with some caged birds, there is also another pond in the park. We were invited to a talapia dinner on the patio of the clubhouse one of the nights we were there, pot luck. Everyone was very friendly.

This is a "Dark Sky" park, and the stargazing was spectacular. Tons of birding opportunities in the surrounding area: we were even given hand-drawn birding map at check in. We camped at Rusty's RV Ranch in a Travel Trailer.

Arizona High Country Campground, Clay Springs, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Small campground located adjacent to the Sitgreaves National Forest. You can walk out of the campground into the National Forest.

Sites are small, but have lots of shade. Mostly seasonal residents, all we encountered were friendly and nice. Owners helped us squeeze our 40 ft. bumper pull into their biggest site- I do not think we would have fit in any of the others.

Started with a week stay, then were able to pay the difference for a month. Owners were friendly and helpful. We camped at Arizona High Country Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Turquoise Valley Golf Course and RV Park, Naco, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

RV Park adjacent to the Golf Course. Huge gravel lots. Our services worked well, but some electric boxes need work. Usually quiet nights, unless they're having a fiesta in the Mexican part of Naco. 10 minutes from beautiful Bisbee, AZ, 40 minutes from Sierra Vista if you need a Walmart or other big-box amenities.

Golf staff is bare-bones. Course upkeep could be better, but if you are lucky to play every day here while you stay, or even 3 times a week, it is a good value. Full-timers were mostly friendly. Many others mentioned poor customer service with the owner, we did not have that experience. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We camped at Turquoise Valley Golf Course and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The golf course is the reason (only reason?) to stay here. While it's long-term patrons will lament that it is well past it's glory days, it is still a fairly well kept and gorgeous course. Two different nines, one parkland and one desert, are both fair and challenging. We paid $500 for golf and a monthly stay. Cart was $5 per day, and I was charged about half the time. 10 minutes from beautiful Bisbee, AZ, 40 minutes from Sierra Vista if you need a Walmart or other big-box amenities.

Greenlake RV Resort, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Nice RV park with a man-made lake in the center. We stayed a month here, and were lucky enough to get half-price as they were just completing construction.

Beautiful facilities. 4 covered group BBQ areas, one with a bar adjacent to the pool. Pool is well landscaped. They pipe in loud country music all day in the pool area however, and if that's not your thing it's not exactly relaxing. Asked for them to lower it, we were rudely asked "What, you don't like that kind of music? It bother's you, huh?". They then proceeded to walk away not turn it down. This was 9am on a Sunday morning mind you, not 6pm on a Friday. In general the staff was not rude, but definitely not friendly. That was the only incidence of outright rudeness we encountered. Overall a good value even at full price. We camped at Greenlake RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Alsatian Resort & Golf Club, Castroville, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Simply a perfect RV resort. Beautiful golf course, spa amenities, friendly staff and neighbors, huge paved spots, meticulously manicured grounds.

Sites ranged from 650 to 1100+ per month, the largest are Class A only with a Casita.

Nothing to complain about, stayed a month here two separate times, we were thrilled. We camped at Alsatian Resort & Golf Club in a Travel Trailer.
