Chain-O-Lakes State Park, Spring Grove, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We have never had a bad experience at this campground. It's a well run State Park and the staff is always friendly. We camp here at least 3 times per season. There is so much to do... Canoeing, Kayaking, Horseback Riding, Biking and Walking Trails. Or just set up camp and relax! The sites are nicely sized and have a fire ring & picnic table. Give this place a try if you haven't been yet. We camped at Chain-O-Lakes State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Sugar Shores RV Resort and Campground, Durand, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

One of the best campgrounds we have visited. The office staff are very friendly. The office has many rooms for relaxing and playing games. Great pool. We enjoyed canoeing down the river. Some sites are on a hill to be sure to have your wheel chocks. Be sure to get on the river. It was so relaxing! We look forward to visiting again in September! We camped at Sugar Shores RV Resort and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Sycamore RV Resort, Sycamore, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Worst campground we have ever stayed in. The owner is like Hitler and runs the place like a military camp. If you want to relax and enjoy your camp weekend, this is NOT the place to go. If you like tight spots, listening to your next door neighbor's conversation while in your own area, and a lot of rules to follow, then this is the place for you! (Oh, that's if you even get a sheet telling you what the rules are!). Close gravel sites.

BTW - Rules are fine when they are met with a friendly attitude. However, this owner has nothing but a BAD attitude and has no business working with the public. We camped at Sycamore RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
