Drummer Boy Camping Resort, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $74.00
Overall Rating:

As others have said, this is a large park. We camped during Fathers Day weekend & it was crowded. There is a large section for "seasonal" campers who leave their RV at the campground for the year & visit it intermittently. We were assigned a large space (#410) recently vacated by a "seasonal" camper. This back in site has level gravel, easy access to hook ups, shady on one side, more than enough space for our Class A, 45' motorhome & tow vehicle. Note: It backs up to the interstate, so noise is constant. Dust on the roads from vehicles & golf carts passing by was annoying. There are a couple of tight turns to get to this area of the campground. We unhitched at the office & drove to the site to preview our route & turns to get to this site. We also found our route out prior to moving our RV out of the campground. Again, there is a variety of tight turns, wide turns, & narrow roads to leave the park. For the rate we paid, we will probably not return. These park owners need to visit a Florida "resort" to understand what the term "resort" means. Its not just about having a pool & playground. Our site was pretty clean, probably because of the recent change from seasonal. However we walked by several sites that were full of weeds & generally not manicured to the level you would call "resort". Several RVs required leveling blocks for them to be close to level. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC), College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

Lots of traffic in the DC area. Cherry Hill Road from Baltimore Ave is narrow & rough, so take your time. We camped for 1 week in a Class A, 45' motorhome. Our original assigned site was too short for our 45', so a park employee helped us find another back in site that would fit. Our site was neat & adequate for our size, however not enough room to park our Ford pick up & be safely clear of the road. Used the nearby bathhouse parking spaces, no big deal. Clean bathrooms! Staff is friendly & helpful. Great location to see the DC sights, Annapolis, Arlington, etc. We used the Metro station located about 5 miles from the park at $5.20 per day for parking even tho there is a bus from the park entrance to this station (it takes 30 min). You can drive faster. Wifi was iffy, kept popping us off even tho we could see the booster antennae. Could hear the hwy noise when outside, but it never bothered us inside the RV. We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Motorhome.

Americamps RV Resort, Ashland, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 nights during Memorial weekend in our Class A, 45' motorhome with tow in a pull through site. Friendly staff, convenient on/off highway, lots of activities for kids & the pancake breakfast is nice. Pool under construction. Park was crowded as expected & bathhouses should have been cleaned daily. Gravel was almost non-existent on our site which was mostly dirt. Other sites had newer compacted gravel. We unhitched at check in to make maneuvering thru the park easier & had no problem. Shade trees are nice, but we were unable to use satellite. Other hook ups were fine. Easy walk to a craft brewery which had live music during the weekend. We camped at Americamps RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sycamore Lodge, Jackson Springs, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We accepted an offer to visit this property at the Atlanta RV Show. We took the tour for membership & enjoyed learning more about the programs offered. Our guide was professional & knowledgeable. All staff was very friendly and helpful. Our site L19 was very nice, wonderful landscaping, partial lake view, full hook ups, satellite no problem, all gravel with plenty of room for our Class A, 45 foot motorhome, tow parking across the street. Lovely landscape in this loop, however roads to this site are tight for a 45'. Must unhitch. No permanent park models or live-in trailers at this park. This campground is a bit isolated in the forest, certainly QUIET in the evenings. 16-17 miles to Aberdeen, shopping, restaurants, Walmart, Lowe's, etc. Plenty of activity for kids, walking paths, pool, camp sponsored activities. There is a general store on site too. We attended the pancake breakfast & it was done nicely! Thanks. The reason this is not a 'perfect' score is the roads & sites are all gravel creating lots of dust & dirt. We were told the owners are working on this for the future, maybe 2019? It would be very nice to have the main travel roads paved at a minimum. Another plus would be to smooth out and extend the turning radiuses. Progress is being made to upgrade the property, particularly ongoing construction to get full hook ups to more sites. Recommend unhitching a tow except for the small number of pull thru sites. Verify hook ups, not all sites are equal. Site L10 has a fabulous lake side view! We camped at Sycamore Lodge in a Motorhome.

Traveling I73 to Windblow Rd, then Derby Road to Sycamore Lane is good for a big rig. Once you turn on Sycamore Lane, large Sycamore trees line the road on both sides, so take the middle of the road for about 2 blocks!

Mayberry Campground, Mount Airy, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Big rig friendly for our Class A 45' motorhome & tow. Easy to navigate, full hook ups, some pull thru & some back in sites. All open, no shade, pretty level sites, satellite no problem. Easy on/off the interstate. Friendly staff, pavilions for rally groups. East to get to Blue Ridge parkway and good motorcycle riding in the area. Several discounts are accepted. Restrooms/laundry room located at the office. We had to report a barking dog next door during our stay & the staff handled it immediately. The only reason not a perfect score is all roads & sites are gravel creating lots of dust. Would be GREAT if at least the roads were paved! Will return if in the area. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

Unicoi Springs Camp Resort, Helen, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We visited in our 45' Class A, Entegra motorhome. Staff is friendly, but should have warned about LOW clearance entrance to the campground, tight turns, narrow roads, & narrow campsites. Built years ago when RVs did not have slide outs. Some campsites are being updated. We cleared the 13'3" clearance, but be aware! We unhitched & traveled the camp to our site in our tow. We had to plan how to make turns & find the right streets. Streets were not named, but appear on the site map. Hook ups fine. Gated entry. Wifi pretty good from our site. Inviting clubhouse and pool area. These are probably busy in summer, but with temps in the 30s, the campground was pretty quiet. 10min to Helen. We camped at Unicoi Springs Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Stone Mountain Park Campground, Stone Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in our 45' motorhome for several nights. Near freezing cold weather really slowed things down at the park. Things were pretty quiet. Our 30-RV group used the open pavilion for gatherings and meals. There is a fireplace in the pavilion so that helps keep some warmth in the building. Staff was friendly and responsive to any requests. Our back-in site was fairly level, gravel with picnic table and grill. However, due to rain the entire day prior to our arrival the utility hookup area was completely covered in water. We alerted the staff & they brought a load of base gravel to try to mitigate the standing water. Many of the sites need to have the gravel re-leveled & edged. Several paved roads need asphalt patching as there are broken off/cracked areas. Overall a good place to stay. Recommend you walk your site first before bringing RV to the space. Note: Left Lane at Entrance gate to park is EXTREMELY tight for large RVs. Approach slowly! Swing a wide right into the Campground as there is a stone monument divider at the entrance. Inside campground, the roads can have tight turns. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Lazydays RV Campground, Seffner, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

A good location to stay for Tampa area. Easy on/off I4 and I75 with 2 truck stops next door. Spaces are all back in and asphalt. Some of the spaces are not all that level anymore & some back up to a berm causing a large motorhome to back into or over a grassy area. Parking is in front of the space, so sometimes the street is crowded. For large RVs, recommend you view your assigned site first before moving from the registration area. There is trolley or golf cart service everyday to the Lazy Days showroom, store, & Front Porch restaurant. Very nice restaurant, Exit 10, on site with good food, drinks, etc. Security onsite at night. We camped at Lazydays RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Jim Hogg Park COE, Georgetown, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Jim Hogg in our 43' Class A motorhome with tow. We unhitched. Roads are somewhat tight & as some have mentioned crumbling at the edges. Our larger concern was the branches over the road. We need 13' clear & had to dodge some of the limbs. Reported this to Maintenance & were told they trim once per year. Park needs overall maintenance...restrooms are almost primitive, several sites were not adequate for a large motorhome. Nice views by the lake, but sites are short, in poor repair, or unlevel at these locations. Site 68 was mostly level, back in, nice covered picnic area. Nice to see the deer roaming around the park. My Verizon Jetpack flexed between 2-3 bars. Satellite was not a problem for us, however some sites have more trees. We would stay again due to friends in the area & we're able to avoid Austin traffic as Georgetown has most everything we would need. We camped at Jim Hogg Park COE in a Motorhome.

Downtown Riverside RV Park, North Little Rock, Arkansas

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Nice break from wooded campgrounds. We stayed in a Class A 43' motorhome for 8 nights to see the area and friends. Our site faced the river and downtown, great for watching the activity and bridge nightly lightshows over the weekends. Lots to see & do, many restaurants across the river in the Market place, walking-biking paths. Visited the Heifer Village near the Clinton Library, walked the Rock Island Bridge several times.

Park has lots of potential to be super nice, but as others have said, its a glorified parking lot. Nice pavilion for groups. Secured with a coded gate overnight. Gravel sites near the back wall, concrete pads in the middle and riverside sections. You can wash your vehicles/motorhome for an additional $5. Front desk staff have the personality of a rock, not rude, but almost.

Do not walk outside the park after dark. Lots of RVers seem to use this location for overnight, so the park empties out in the morning, then can be full before dark again. Will stop in again if in the area. We camped at Downtown Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wagon Master RV Park, Sanger, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This review pertains to site 76. We stayed at Wagon Master RV in late September in our 43' Class A motorhome with tow. Site 76 is a pull through with water & 50amp service only, no sewer. Plenty long for our rig and tow, literally next to a barn. As far as the park overall, it would be WONDERFUL if the large entrance area and egress into the campsites was paved as this gravel area kicks up lots of dust! Many of the spaces at Wagon Master are filled with long term residents, so if park is full it seems it is because they simply don't offer that many true RV spaces. Sites are wide with plenty of room between. Clean showers, restrooms and laundry. Staff was very pleasant and we had fun watching the alpacas in the fields nextdoor to our site. We would stay here again if in the area & willing to put up with the dust. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Motorhome.

Dakota Ridge RV Park, Golden, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Yes, you can get a big rig in, but be careful. Narrow, rough roads, tiered sites along a hillside, turns are adequate, sites are mostly level NARROW concrete with gravel sides. Campsites face each other so not much "privacy". We had incense burning campers next to us! Uggh. The park truly needs an overhaul. Roads need to be smoothed & more paving added, sites need to be re-leveled. Wifi good, but knocked me off several times. Staff closed the hot tub and heated pool by Sept 12. Office does not accept any mail or packages. Dump station on-site. Expensive rates for what you get. But, good location to head into the mountains, see Golden, shopping, plenty of restaurants within 10-20 minutes. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Turns are a bit narrow, but doable. Sites are gravel and narrow for our 43' Class A motorhome. But, there is plenty of space between campers. Must park on your site which can be tight for a large rig and tow. Clean restrooms and reasonable priced laundry. Wifi steady. Watch out for lawn sprinklers which will spot your rig and tow. Lots to see and do in Cody. Museum is excellent and tic includes 2-day visits to see everything. Cute downtown shops. We camped at Absaroka Bay RV Park in a Motorhome.

Perrys RV Park and Tent Campground, Red Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Paved entry, gravel interior roads & sites. We stayed at Perry's in our 43' Class A motorhome. Sites near the office are large enough for a Class A, & include water, elec. There is a dump station that is easy to pull along side. Campsites are narrow with picnic tables. There is 1 washer/1 dryer in the office. Restrooms are clean & there are some port-a-potties through the campground. The riverside sites are rustic, mostly dirt or gravel. A narrow road leads down to the riverside sites. Highway noise is not a problem. There is very little traffic after dark. Bears may enter the park, be cautious. We camped at Perrys RV Park and Tent Campground in a Motorhome.
