Ponderosa Resort, Canim Lake, British Columbia

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed one night due to dissatisfaction with another resort. The sites were clean and well kept, the family running the operation was kind and friendly. The sites were well marked and many of them close to the lake. Services were what you would expect of a small resort area in a rural environment, a small store was available for necessities you might have forgotten. We only stayed one night so did not take advantage of many of the available resources. Sites were very close together. (We are not RV Park campers so felt a bit cramped...we like our space!) If you are used to RV Parks this is a nice blend between outdoors camping and RV park sites. We camped at Ponderosa Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Canim Lake Resort, Canim Lake, British Columbia

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We started our stay with the owner yelling at as because our dog had wandered away while we were getting set up. Literally YELLED at us. His dog, meanwhile was wandering around the resort unleashed. He charged a friend of our 17 dollars to park at one of the sites while she visited family and she chose not to pay it so parked on the road. The owner came back to us after a few minutes and told us our dog had taken a poop on his property and we needed to clean it up...it was not our dog's...it was his dog's...but we cleaned it up. He charged us for Internet when we didn't use any, he said the firewood was included in the price then wouldn't let us use any. It was a rainy day and we could not set up our grill under the shelter and had to stand in the rain (the roof was 20 feet up). He complained about the dog excrement yet when I walked down by the lakeside there was his dog's excrement all over the property. We will NOT ever go back and do not recommend that anyone else go either. The owner is rude and a jerk. The sites were not well marked and there are two sites end to end...but it was not obvious. There are 30 amp and 50 amp connections and two faucets back to back for the two sites although not obvious at first. Roads are unpaved. RV sites are grass. There is a hot tub on a deck overlooking the lake and the bathrooms/showers are clean and well maintained. We camped at Canim Lake Resort in a Travel Trailer.
