Barkcamp State Park, Belmont, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

The state park was very beautiful. The site was spacious and clean. Most campgrounds provide electric and water at each site. This campground only had electricity. The bathroom and shower were separated. The bathroom was not enclosed, and was like a porta potty. Ours had a sign warning that a copperhead frequented it and not to attempt picking it up. There was one shower house for the entire camp. It was clean, but I never could get hot water for my shower. If you have a large RV with your own facilities, it would be a great place to camp, but we have a pop up and I don't think we will ever go back. We camped at Barkcamp State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Rustic Knolls Campground, Mount Vernon, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Rustic Knolls is one of the nicest campgrounds that we have ever visited. The bathhouse was clean and modern with awesome water pressure. There's lots of shade, because the campground was established in 1968. It has two lakes, one for swimming, and the other for fishing. We had no trouble at all with electric or water, and our site had a nice concrete pad. The gentleman that runs the campground was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again, in our pop-up, if we are in the area. We camped at Rustic Knolls Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Frisco Woods Campground, Frisco, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

We spent a week at Frisco Woods and enjoyed every minute of our stay. We were in S13 where we had an incredible view of Pamlico Sound. Our site was in some sea oaks in the sand. We had ample space. There was normally a nice breeze that kept the bugs down. My daughter and I enjoyed crabbing in the sound. It was not far from the beach or the ferry to Ocrakoke. The showers by the pool have been renovated and were very nice. The other two bathhouses were older, but not too bad. Except the mosquitoes liked to attack you when you exited them. The WiFi was only good at the store, but we didn't care. There was always something interesting to watch on the water. The pool was nice and the laundry room is right next to the pool, so you can fold your clean clothes while your kids swim. We loved it there and plan to return next year! We camped at Frisco Woods Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC), College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

Our daughter was in a competition in DC for the weekend, so we camped at Cherry Hill. We arrived in the middle of the night, and there was a very nice gentleman in the gatehouse who explained the finer points of the campground to us, and directed us to our site. Everything was neat and clean. There were tons of activities within the park to do, but we were never there for long during the day. The staff was very helpful explaining how to use the metro. The gentleman was very friendly telling me how he and his wife had moved there to be near his grandchildren. The campground has a bus that takes you to the closest Metro station, but we never used it. Our site was nice and level with plenty of space between neighbors. Its an excellent campground for kids, and its within 45 minutes of DC. WiFi was good. It's an urban campground, so you do here some hum from the Interstate, but it's close to everything you might need. We'll definitely go back. We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Tent Trailer.
