Sylamore Creek Camp is located five miles north of Mt. View on Sylamore Creek and within walking distance of the White River. Because it had rained heavily the day before our arrival, some sites were not able to use sewer hookups due to overflow water into the sewer system. Sites were mostly gravel with picnic tables, fire rings and grills. Because of its location, this camp would be great if some attention were paid to cleanliness in the bathhouse and if the grass was cut. Behind the office there appeared to be a graveyard for old cars.

We camped at the John Kyle State Park on the shakedown run for our trailer. There were nice concrete pads and full hookups at our location. The campground was quiet. There is no cable TV nor Internet access. The lake is within walking distance for fishing, swimming, or boating. The only area of disappointment was the Cypress Point on the lower lake. The picnic area was overrun with trash and the bathrooms were filthy. We will stay there again but will not use Cypress Point. We camped in a travel trailer.
