Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake, Orlando, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed the stay. The sites were back-in and pitched (we had to lift the front in quite a bit) and just long enough for the TT. The park is small and the drive through is very narrow. Big rigs would have a harder time. The spots on the inside of the circle (full hook ups) are crowded with not much room around any side. There is a dump at the exit but you block all traffic when you stop. It was a clean park but several of the washers/dryers weren't functioning. I loved the lake and there is a lot to do but the main attraction is that this is a really nice park close to Disney. We camped at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake in a Travel Trailer.

Holiday Harbor, Acworth, Georgia

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a campground behind the main marina building. While it has a pretty view at the lakeside, it is apparent that the main business is the marina. The entrance/exit gate is difficult to maneuver around because of all the boats and cars that are parked around it. They have a dump "hole" on the right side of the entrance, in front of the parked boats. (hole only-no water and hard to find without the small sign pointing it out.) One way in/out and the roads are extremely small and in poor condition. The site was pretty level but was buried under so many pine needles we could hardly pick out the perimeter. Fire ring, picnic table and grill at the site. No wifi but we got a good signal with Verizon and AT&T. It looks as if they have made a few improvements (laundry room with washers & dryers in the shower building, next to the marina office) but it is still a work in progress. We camped at Holiday Harbor in a Travel Trailer.

You have to drive through a parking lot on the right before you get to the Marina. GPS said to turn left. There is no left.

Willow Bay Recreation Area, American Falls, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Willow Bay is an oasis! The new owners have really made this campground their passion and it shows. Beautifully manicured green grass, very large spaces with large shade trees (in the larger loop), fire rings and picnic tables. Wifi, AT&T and Verizon all worked well. Clean restrooms, showers and 2 coin operated washers and dryers. There is a boat launch and a cafe that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner on site! The town of American Falls is just a few miles away with a well stocked grocery store. The owners go out of their way to make sure it's a great experience. I will definitely stay there again! We camped at Willow Bay Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Singing Hills RV Park & Campground, Cave City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Small RV park not far from I-65. Very nice and welcoming staff. Mostly level, pull through and back in, gravel sites that are close together. Small patch of grass separates each site that has a picnic table and fire ring. Very neat and clean. There is a small pond where you can fish and they also provide cane poles. Wifi works really well. No laundry facilities and bathrooms stalls are a little snug but it is clean. Large barn, lots of grass, an open field for horse shoes and volleyball and owners who care about the property. We will definitely stay here again! We camped at Singing Hills RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Mammoth Cave National Park is a place you will want to visit. We chose to visit Chasers to get homemade fudge. It was worth the short trip! Try the bourbon balls!

Barren River State Resort Park, Lucas, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Came in on a Wednesday and the park was mostly empty. Weekends are full! Friendly staff that sell ice and firewood at the front entrance. Paved pull through spot for our 30ft TT. On a hill but easy to level. Picnic table and campfire ring at each site. Plenty of room between the sites with large shade trees and grass. Water and electric on opposite ends of the site so we had to have an extension cord for the electric - no problems. No wifi or cable but Verizon Mifi picked up the internet with a booster. AT&T didn't work well. Nicely maintained State Park. Two Bath houses cleaned almost daily, plenty of hot water, hooks for clothes and the lights run on timers. Laundry with 1 washer and 2 dryers at each bath house (One set wasn't working). Dump stations behind each one. Turns are a little challenging and there are several spots where the pavement needs repair. The sites on the outside of the loops are very small and should be for tents only. We stayed for 2 weeks on one site and then moved to another for 2 more weeks. We loved this park and plan to return! We camped at Barren River State Resort Park in a Travel Trailer.

Many things to do within a mile of the campground but still within the park. Horseback riding, beach, walking trails, golf course, restaurant, marina, boat rentals and playground for kids. Walmart, Lowe's, grocery stores and restaurants within 15 minute drive.
