Dunromin Waterfront Campground & Cabins, Granville Ferry, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

The main reason to stay at this park is it's proximity to Annapolis Royal. It rained the first day we were here. Water pooled in many of the campsites, fortunately not ours. The sites in section D were very close together and the roads muddy. Our site was a pull through but due to tight quarters we needed to back out of our site. The campground is family-oriented with a friendly staff, on-site restaurant, and within walking distance of town. It would be improved by upgrading the washrooms, roads, and sites. We camped at Dunromin Waterfront Campground & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Great food at Bistro East and a good selection of gifts at Catfish Moon Fine Crafts. Lots of interesting sites in Annapolis Royal, all within walking distance of each other: Fort Anne, Historic Gardens, Boardwalk and Lighthouse, Wharf, King's Theatre, Tidal Power Plant, French Basin Trail for walking your dogs, historic buildings, restaurants, and shops.

Rockwood Park, Saint John, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is in a very large park that has wonderful walking trails. Most of the RV sites are in a large gravel area that can best be described as functional. Site surface was gravel and featured a picnic table.

It was our first stop upon arriving in Canada. There are good shopping/provisioning opportunities as you'd expect in a large city. We camped at Rockwood Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We looked forward to visiting the Saint John City Market and shopping for groceries and getting a bite to eat. Other than maybe appreciating it's historical significance, you're better off going to Sobey's - East Point for groceries and dining at a Market Square restaurant located at the Saint John wharf. Be sure to hike some of the trails at Rockwood Park.

Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA), Wade, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

It's obvious the owners are putting a lot of money into upgrading this campground/resort. We stayed in a huge pull through near the entrance. The miniature golf course is one of the nicest we've seen and they were finishing the new pool area. We only stayed one night but would definitely stay here again. We camped at Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA) in a Motorhome.

Check out the Mariner's Museum in Newport News. There is a great section highlighting the battle between the Monitor and Merrimack. We especially enjoyed Historic Jamestowne and the archaeologist led tour. While at Williamsburg, check out LOKAL for a healthy meal served with a smile.

Deer Park Campground, Buffalo, Wyoming

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground with a good trail and wildlife (great horned owls and deer). We stayed in a site with no shade (our request) but most sites had some or a lot of shade. Site surface was gravel and featured a fire ring and picnic table. Next time we visit this area we'll stay a little longer. We camped at Deer Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Viking Village Campground & Resort, Stoughton, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Nobody was in the office when we arrived or during our stay. We had to call the owner to check in, get a site, and pay the balance of our bill. We were given a choice of three sites and chose the one that had the least mud by the entrance to our motorhome. The campground seemed more geared to special events and long term residents versus those, like us, visiting friends and relatives in the area. Although this campground was OK, it was a little pricey and we'll probably stay at another campground on our next visit. We camped at Viking Village Campground & Resort in a Motorhome.

SoHi Campground, Accord, New York

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very winding, six mile road to this campground. We were assigned the "large" site by the entrance and planned on staying two nights. We were told to back in over the PVC pipes and eight inch ridge extending across the front of the sites. After much maneuvering we were able to get the coach fairly level and still reach the 50 amp outlet. The campsite didn't look like it had been cleaned up since the campground opened earlier in the month. A lot of the RVs in the campground appeared to be seasonal or possibly year round.

On the second day the owner stopped by to say hello. After he left I started to fill the water tanks and noticed the water was brown. I spoke to the owner again and he said the chlorinator wasn't working and told me to not drink the water. We hadn't been notified of this upon arrival or when I first spoke to him. Fortunately we had not filled the tank. He said the restrooms and showers were very clean but when I checked the men's room and shower it was filthy with muddy floors in both areas. I told the owner we wanted our money back for the second night, he returned our check. We left late afternoon and went on to Saugerties, NY! We camped at SoHi Campground in a Motorhome.

Washington DC / Capitol KOA, Millersville, Maryland

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $82.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this park four years ago and it appears little to no work was done to level the sites, particularly in the wooded area. The roads still need to have gravel added to minimize the large muddy puddles that form when it rains. The dog park was filthy and the office staff seemed uninterested in getting someone to clean it up. Prior to our KOA discount we paid $79 (weekday) and $84 (weekend). We were visiting family in Annapolis and unfortunately this was basically the only campground available. Poor road conditions in wooded area: dusty/muddy throughout campground. We camped at Washington DC / Capitol KOA in a Motorhome.
