Blackwell Island RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 4 nights while visiting relatives. Had an end site so actually had a couple of pine trees for shade. very nice full-service rv park with lots of amenities although we didn't take advantage because of activities with relatives. Beautiful river frontage for those interested in water activities or just sitting by the river with morning coffee. We camped at Blackwell Island RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Miles City KOA, Miles City, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed overnight about a week apart on the way to and from Idaho. Park is basic, a bit dated but well maintained. The sites are gravel & dirt, not a lot of grass. All the services worked well and the staff was very accommodating and helpful! We camped at Miles City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

It's in an older run-down part of town but it was very peaceful and well kept. Follow the directions to take the west interstate exit to avoid a low (11') underpass on main street in town.

Icelandic State Park, Cavalier, North Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful state park with private sheltered, shaded sites. Small lake in the park. Frostfire, a nearby summer theater in Walhalla, ND puts on a nice community show every summer. A local foundation is working on developing the Pembina Gorge, a unique gorge in the middle of the flat Red River Valley. The park also has an historical display of Icelandic culture. We camped at Icelandic State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Graham's Island State Park, Devils Lake, North Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed in the 'Howard' loop. Large sites separated by brush and trees. 30 amp electric and water. The Ziebach loop is also spread out with large sites but more open. The 'LaRose' section is the newest with large parallel sites and full hookups (50amp, water, & sewer). The trees are growing quickly and providing some shade in these newest sites. We camped at Graham's Island State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Homer / Baycrest KOA, Homer, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park on the bluff on the north edge of Homer overlooking Katchemak Bay. Beautiful views out our back window. Some sites have more space than others, ours is quite large. There is grass in most sites. Staff is friendly and helpful. Dog walking is available through 'Homer Hounds' in town if you charter fish or tour.

Lots of space making parking easy for all size rigs. We camped at Homer / Baycrest KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We debated between this park and others on the Homer Spit. If you really want to be next to the water in the midst of the fishing charters and activity the parks on the Spit are preferable. They are the normal Alaska gravel parking lots with rv's side-by-side. We were glad we picked the park on the bluff with views, a little more elbow-room, and quieter. The Spit was only 4 miles away.

Chugach State Park: Eagle River Campground, Eagle River, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice state park campground. Streets and pads are all paved and spacious. Easy in and out for large rigs. Limited reservations available but usually enough turnover to get a site early to mid-afternoon. Sites are either single or double but even if you share a double site there's quite a bit of 'elbow-room'.

On the down side, there's no water available other than a tank in the parking lot. No water at the dump station to flush or rinse after dumping. We camped at Chugach State Park: Eagle River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Susitna Landing, Willow, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Fantastic campground. It's primarily used by locals to fish the Susitna and Kantishna rivers so it's quiet during the week and busier on the weekend. They don't take reservations but, again, it's quiet during the week. The sites are huge with very easy access. Electric is available in one loop and some of the sites near the river. Another loop is primitive. Campground managers are very accommodating. We camped at Susitna Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned), Denali National Park, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The location and service make this a very good place to stay while visiting Denali. The sites are close but everything worked well. Staff will walk dogs while to take the Denali tour (which is an all day excursion). We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Fifth Wheel.

River's Edge Resort, Fairbanks, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Large RV park with lots of variety of sites. We had a pull through that accommodated our fairly long 5er. There was some grass and a few shrubs between sites but close enough that you quickly got to know your neighbors. Good support facilities - laundry, etc. and decent value overall. We camped at River's Edge Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tundra Lodge & RV Park, Tok, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nicely laid out campground with good separation between sites with all sites in the shade. Power was fine but water system had some problems. We couldn't use the park water, like there was air leaking into the system and it wouldn't clear out. We stayed 2 nights. We camped at Tundra Lodge & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Basically a gravel parking lot with spaces very tight. It was convenient to the Signpost forest and a grocery store. The laundry facilities were good so we got prepped for further travel. . . We camped at Downtown RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cottonwood RV Park, Destruction Bay, Yukon

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Best campground on our trip to Alaska. Hosts were totally accommodating, facilities were beautiful. It's a remote camp along Kluane Lake but it was the nicest night of our trip. We had a primitive no hookup site with our door opening toward and overlooking the lake. Hoping to stay again for a night or two on the way back home. We camped at Cottonwood RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
