Cages Bend COE, Gallatin, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

The public roads in are small but the roads in the CG are fine. The trees are old and large, very shady. The lake/river is large at the point, just OK for wading and swimming but looked very good for boating.

The site was very nice, a patio that overlooked the lake (through the trees). We camped at Cages Bend COE in a Travel Trailer.

Fort Boonesborough State Park, Richmond, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Sites were crowded and the place was full. Some campers believed we should all enjoy their choice of music! The river was low and not good for wading or swimming. We moved on after one night. We camped at Fort Boonesborough State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We enjoyed Fort Boonesboro next to the park. The reenactors/volunteers were interesting and there were great artifacts there with good identifications. The hatchet throwing is not to be missed!

Van Buren State Park, South Haven, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

The campground host was wonderful. We pulled in late. When she heard that we had signed up for a site with no electric (because we were not unhooking for the night), she told us to find an electric site that's not reserved and where we were not in the roadway. We did and thank goodness, heat index was 104. It was very quiet, and the sites were well taken care of.

It's a horse camp also, and it was wonderful to wake up and see some 4 legged campers!

There is no water or sewer at the individual site. We camped at Van Buren State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Wild Cherry Resort, Lake Leelanau, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

There's lots to do nearby and all that is easy to get to. There is a driving range and a pond. We didn't use the party room but it looked nice. If the cherry orchard has ripe cherries you can get permission to pick your own. We camped at Wild Cherry Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Indiana Dunes State Park, Chesterton, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are spaced out but the weekend was crowded. There was no water at the site, water spigot didn't take a hose nib so there was no way to fill.

The walk to the Dunes was terrific and the old art deco building at the beach was pretty.

We would stay again, just be better prepared. We camped at Indiana Dunes State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Double J Campground and RV Park, Chatham, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

There's a good pool, mini golf was odd but the kids loved it. There was some road noise but not enough to keep you awake. They recycle which was great. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Worlds of Fun Village, Kansas City, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

There's a great pool, a laundry and game room. The staff was most helpful, the noise from the road and the rides wasn't bad (previous reviews warned about that) and the landscaping really helped screen one site from another. We camped at Worlds of Fun Village in a Travel Trailer.
