Mt Desert Narrows Camping Resort, Bar Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

Good location for visiting area. Expensive, but this is Bar Harbor in prime tourist season. Large campground with sites of varying size. Our site was pretty level, others were definitely not. Some waterfront sites, but not 50 amp. Sites are close, like all in the area. Good hookups, good 50 amp (hot during our stay so we were thankful) Decent WiFi. Pool was cleaned up while we were here. We didn't use, but it was busy. We camped at Mt Desert Narrows Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Acadia is a gem, but like all the NPs, it is being loved to death. Go early or late to avoid crowds and parking hassles. Good and free shuttle system will take you all over the island. We used it early to go to Bar Harbor for breakfast, look around as the stores were opening and then leave by lunchtime. Cruise ships arrive in the harbor most days and it does get very crowded.

Sunset Point RV Trailer Park, Lubec, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

What a lovely park. We had site 29 which was in the end. We parked headed in and ran water and electric under the coach for a lovely waterfront view. Good 50 amp, no sewer BUT this is the only park I've seen that has portable tanks for you to borrow to dump and then take to the dump station. They also will provide lobster pots and propane heaters. Sites are a bit tight so we were glad to have the end. The lady in the office was so helpful with things to see and restaurants to try. She really made our stay one of the highlights of our trip. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Sunset Point RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Pumpkin Patch RV Resort, Hermon, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park, very clean and lovely landscaping. Good hookups, cable and WiFi included. level sites are staggered so that you are not looking right into the windows of your neighbors. Our pull through site was not shaded but some were. Many seasonals but friendly. Just close enough to Bangor but remote enough to be quiet. Lots of room to walk dogs too. We camped at Pumpkin Patch RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Along the River, Twin Mountain, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Also called Tarry Ho. Level spot, 50 Amp sites are in a sunny open area. Plenty of room for big rigs. Tent sites along the river are very pretty. Decent spacing, good power and hookups. Good WiFi. Quiet at night. Lots of room to walk the dog. Convenient to lot of attractions without being right in the congestion. We camped at Along the River in a Motorhome.

Meadowcrest Campground, Marshfield, Vermont

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Small but quite pretty campground on hillside. Level site, fairly closely spaced. To sit out we sat behind the coach. Next to major highway, but noise not too bad. Good 30 amp, hookups good. Very friendly owners, who were more than willing to help as needed. Friendly seasonals. Good location to visit area attractions. We camped at Meadowcrest Campground in a Motorhome.

Wellesley Island State Park, Fineview, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful campground in a lovely area. Would have given it a much higher rating, except that their power for our 30 A site was very unreliable. Could not even run one AC unit with everything else in the MC turned off. We finally resorted to running our generator during one particularly hot afternoon in order to make the coach livable. That said, the site was paved, level and there are enormous amounts of room between most sites. Really large open areas to walk your dog. No ATT cell, no WiFi. We camped at Wellesley Island State Park in a Motorhome.

Cinderella Motel & Campsite, Grand Island, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice place to stay. Easy on/off interstate. Toll across southbound, but not northbound. Easy to get to Niagara Falls. Good 50 A service. Sites are pretty tight, could barely get a picnic table between sites. Couldn't use awning. but we were busy anyway. Other campers friendly, some seasonal. Really nice area for dog walking as all the sites are around the perimeter of a large open space behind the motel. WiFi pretty non existent, even though we were pretty close to the office. We camped at Cinderella Motel & Campsite in a Motorhome.

Streetsboro / Cleveland SE KOA, Streetsboro, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Adequate. But as we were there over the Fourth of July the power was severely limited by hot weather and demand. Unable to get the 50 A we paid for. Our site was located in a low area. One rainy day was enough to cause the site to have standing water everywhere. The people across from us had to move as they were flooded. We camped at Streetsboro / Cleveland SE KOA in a Motorhome.

Medora Campground, Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

A bit expensive for what you get, but excellent location to T. Roosevelt NP. Our site was extremely close to our drivers side neighbor. Site next door was a very short pull through. Their awning almost touched our slide out. We could see straight into their coach as they could see into ours. Park is mostly gravel and dirt. Rained first day and water and mud puddles stayed for our 3 days there. Our sewer hookup was under our neighbor's table. Careful walking pets as there is prickly pear cactus in perimeter areas. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Dick's RV Park, Great Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Park tucked at end of dead end street. Must pass under railroad underpass to get to entrance. Large park with some paved, nicer sites closer to office with nice grass between sites. However many sites, including ours, were gravel, out in sun, no shade, little grass. Entire row of stored RVs, some in not very good condition. Several permanent residents, including a very shabby site right next to a tiny dog park with no shade and no benches. However you can walk pets down toward the entrance road, which is a nice grassy, shady area. Lots of bunnies around! We camped at Dick's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Spacious sites in the upper section, which we really liked. Good hookups, but with well water. Lots of grass, nice area to walk dogs and trails down to the river. Bonner County Fairgrounds, Sandpoint, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground at fairgrounds. Water and 50 amp good. Nice asphalt sites and very level. Most with some shade. Very clean. Friendly host. Most sites were fairly spacious, although I saw a few that looked close. Some sites big rig friendly, we had no trouble with our 36 ft MH. Had to park tow in grass behind site, but no problem. Rodeo both nights we were there, which was kind of fun to see all the arrivals. Quiet after, so no troubles with sleep. Train nearby occasionally. Lots of of room to walk dogs. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Bonner County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Swiftwater RV Park & Store, White Bird, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Small park with some sites on the river. Nice view. However sites are very small in large gravel lot. Neighbors awning had to be retracted when we left. Electric and water only. Sites share pedestals which means doors open to your neighbor's door. Picnic tables were side by side. No cell and unable to connect to wifi. Not much to do in area. Would NOT say this is big rig friendly at all (even for our 36 ft) as people had to park tow vehicles and pickups anywhere they could find space. We camped at Swiftwater RV Park & Store in a Motorhome.
