Billings KOA, Billings, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Really pretty park. Nicely maintained. Our site was nice with paved patio, swing and table. Level, gravel site and convenient on off I 90. Quiet at night, but with so many things for kids to do, it is busy during the day. Hookups good. Wifi adequate, but slow at times. We camped at Billings KOA in a Motorhome.

Devils Tower KOA, Devils Tower, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

Amazing views! Pretty expensive even for a KOA, but it is just about the only game in town. Hookups adequate. Water pressure a bit low. No over the air TV and wi fi very slow. Many spots in full sun with temps while we were here in upper 90s. We asked for a shady spot when we reserved and got a back in that did have some shade during the day. Fairly level on grass. Front windshield faced Tower (nice) and western sun (not so nice). Very dusty at times. They do show Close Encounters of the Third Kind nightly and that is really fun to see the campground used in the film! We camped at Devils Tower KOA in a Motorhome.

Spearfish City Campground, Spearfish, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful campground in a park atmosphere. Next to Spearfish Creek with little streams wandering through campground. Nice walking paths and pet friendly with multiple dog bag stations. Pretty city park next door and very interesting fish hatchery, all within easy walk. Lush green grass everywhere. Lots of shade, although some sites in sun. Our site, 30, had big side yard with multiple big trees so that you could move your chairs and be in shade. Some sites much closer together. WiFi weak, but hookups fine and good 50 amp. This is one of the prettiest campgrounds we have run across. We camped at Spearfish City Campground in a Motorhome.

Beaver Lake Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. Busy during 4th of July week. Full hookups were fine. Wifi adequate only. Cable hookup didn't work for us. In site 41 which is spacious and mostly shaded. Only issue which was a large one for us was the number of people who didn't hesitate to cut right through our site on their way to the office. Some were within a couple of feet from the door of our MH, or within reach of our small dog when we were sitting outside. My husband had to ask several people and kids to please walk around the road, some of which were pretty indignant. He finally parked the toad sideways across the entrance to our site and we moved the table to block the most frequently used path. That didn't stop everyone. First place we have been in that this was such an issue. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay. Nicely located to local attractions without being in the middle of the heavy tourist areas. We camped at Beaver Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Custer State park is a gem! Needles highway, iron Mountain Road were beautiful. Beware of afternoon thunderstorms. Our first trip on Needles Hwy ended with a severe hailstorm. Wildlife loop at dusk, saw lots of animals.

Pipestone RV Campground, Pipestone, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground, especially for families with children. Pool and playground, sandbox, b-ball hoop. Many permanent campers who seem to come for the weekends. Sites are level, with some shade. Good utilities, cable and wifi. Some Sites are very close together. Our slide was just a few inches from our neighbor's slide. But we had good corner space on curbside. Nice green parks near by as well as sidewalks for walking. We camped at Pipestone RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Good for a night or two. Level spots, all gravel. Good utilities. Cable doesn't work as you need a box. Wifi adequate. Some shade, quite a bit of sunny sites, facing west. Very dusty with construction on main road. I 90 very close and some noise. Behind Super 8, but easy to find. We camped at Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Corn palace being redone, but still interesting. Easy to get to with good nearby parking. Found a really nice dog park which allowed our pooch to stretch her legs a bit as there is very little walking areas for pets at CG.

Little Bear Campground , West Liberty, Iowa

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice little park just off I 80. Stayed 2 nights while visiting Hoover site. Very friendly. Had choice of sites. Some are not very level but ours was not too bad. Some nicely shaded spots with large mature trees. Lots of open area around which owner keeps mowed. Nice for our dog to stretch her legs. Nice pool. Hookups in good position. Some interstate noise but not enough to be intrusive. Some permanent residents. Behind a BP station and a closed motel and diner. Otherwise good choice while traveling through the area. We camped at Little Bear Campground in a Motorhome.

Falling Waters State Park, Chipley, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Nice small campground in the pines. Not much to do. Couple of short hikes to waterfall into pothole sinkhole, which varies according to rainfall. There is a lake which has a small swimming beach. Nice picnic areas. No sewer, no wifi, cell 1-2 bars on ATT. Site itself (8) nicely situated, backing up to woods. Plenty long enough for 36ft MH and jeep. Chipley closest town, lots of fast food and a Walmart. Nice area just to relax in th e woods. We camped at Falling Waters State Park in a Motorhome.

Shady Acres RV & Camping Park, Fort Myers, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Second stay here during season. Come here to meet friends in area. Last year site was very tight and in a section too close to dump and trash. Decided to try once more and we had a better site in a different section. Sites still tight and was told that previously site had been under 6 inches of water. Fortunately no rain this time. This CG almost all returning seasonals. So all know each other and can be quite clannish. Very dog friendly, with lots of dog bag stations. Hookups very convenient, no trouble leveling. Except for shopping and eating out, not so much in area to do. We camped at Shady Acres RV & Camping Park in a Motorhome.

John Prince Park Campground, Palm Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a wonderful county park. Lots of out of town folks here for the entire winter season and fills up early! Lots of Canadians, my hubby jokes that one whole section is the French Quarter. In fact they post notices in English and French. People here are mostly friendly, but many have been coming for 20 years and they have their groups. Many sites are on the lake. Not all have sewer. Large dump station. Most sites have nice spacing, a few are fairly close to each other. Dog friendly. Area has lots of things to do, with lots of restaurants. We have stayed many times (longest 2 weeks) and won't hesitate to stay again. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park), Ocala, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Such a pretty campground and the most space between sites we have seen. Pull through site exceptionally long, we could have put 2 MH in it! Quiet. Lots of shade. Some nice hiking trails, dog friendly. The boat ride area is very pretty, also dog friendly with some very nice walking trails. Dogs can't do boat ride. Hookups good and convenient. Ocala very close, so lots of restaurants and shopping. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Really enjoyed our stay at this large and well maintained park. Lots of level sites for larger rigs. Lots of smaller RVs, pop ups and tents also. Nice pool, playground. Lots of shade, forest. Hiking trail to river with falls and flume. Dog hiking trail and small dog park. Good hookups. Wifi fair, but no ATT cell. Rained all day one day. Not really muddy. More like wet sand. Close to Whiteface Mtn drive and not far from Lake Placid. One of the nicest KOAs we've been to. We camped at Lake Placid / Whiteface Mtn KOA in a Motorhome.
