Crater of Diamonds State Park , Murfreesboro, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The Park's staff was very friendly and helpful. It was clean and well maintained. The campsites were spaced far enough apart to allow for privacy yet close enough together so that you could speak with your neighbors. The hookups were great and trouble free. Everything worked well.

I chose a site at the very back of the campground thinking that there would be little to no traffic. While that was true, I didn't pay close enough attention to the map to realize that there was a highway running beside the park right below where our site was. It was only an issue when a truck with an engine brake came by. Otherwise, it was one of the quietest campsites I've ever stayed at.

The Park staff picks up trash at least twice a day from designated trash can sites.

Everything was reasonably priced. We dug for diamond and while we didn't find any, we had a great time.

We really enjoyed our stay and have it on the list to visit again one day. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Motorhome.

Brushy Creek COE, Jefferson, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The site was level, which was great. Our site had plenty of shade.

The park filled up quickly and, while there were a lot of other campers, we weren't jammed in together. There was ample room between sites.

My only complaint was the grass between sites was around a foot tall.

All in all, we had a great experience. We camped at Brushy Creek COE in a Motorhome.

Cypress Black Bayou, Benton, Louisiana

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights the weekend after July 4th. We asked for and received a full hookup slot, which was nice. The site was level.

The picnic table and fire pit were on the opposite side of our RV, which I found odd. We did not use them so it wasn't a huge deal.

The site had a lot of cigarette butts and small pieces of trash scattered around it, which is why I can only give it 3 stars for cleanliness. It was as if the trash was mowed over instead of picked up.

The staff was friendly and there is a highly visible yet unobtrusive presence by the Park Rangers and Sheriff's Office.

There was no loud music or wild behavior and everyone was very respectful of everyone else. We camped at Cypress Black Bayou in a Motorhome.
