Kimball Creek Bend RV Resort, Gold Beach, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2007 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Location wise this campground has the potential to be wonderful, unfortunately it is rundown and in need of some TLC. We stayed here to ride the Jet Boats as they pick you up at the campgrounds dock, a nice feature. We stayed here about ten years ago and enjoyed the place. This return visit was a disappointment, junk cars and scrap laying about, weeds, and the site we had was at best poor. A power pole and tree to squeeze our awning between, unlevel, and another motorhome backed in to within six inches of us. A full time run down rig next to us with elec. cord hanging out the window across our site at five feet above the ground to hang yourself on. There was a nice site in the center of the campground that remained vacant under some trees with a fire ring and when we inquired about moving to it where told it was reserved for motorhomes only no trailers. Well the last day of our stay the spot had a fifth wheel and pickup camper in it! The area we where in was predominately full time trailers. The restroom for the ladies had only one shower that worked, the other drizzled out and had spider webs on the shower stall ceiling. We will not return here. We camped at Kimball Creek Bend RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Boise / Meridian KOA, Meridian, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

For a city rv park, this park is nice, even though there is a very loud speedway nearby. The restrooms are first rate, the staff is friendly and it is very clean. The area it is in is not pretty but it is fenced and well kept. Would stay here again if passing this area. We camped at Boise / Meridian KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Douglas KOA, Douglas, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Nice spots, a clean park with a grassy picnic area and dog run that is fenced. Staff were nice and helpful. Our only complaint was waiting to shower at night. The park has full time residents and the shower room was small with only three showers. But we did have full hookups so it was a minor inconvenience. We used our own shower. When in the middle of nowhere Wyoming, this was a welcome stop. Would stay again. We camped at Douglas KOA in a Travel Trailer.

United Campground of Durango, Durango, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here twice before, once in 91 and in 96. The most amazing thing is not one single thing is changed for better or worse, place is in a time warp. We enjoyed our stay but the bathrooms could use some improvement on the upper level and some paved roads would be a great improvement. We were in the top overflow lot and could not see the train. For just a gravel spot ,it's a little pricey, but all in all, not bad. The trolley is convenient and we enjoyed town. Would stay again. We camped at United Campground of Durango in a Travel Trailer.

Santa Fe KOA, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are desert dirt and dusty roads, but this is pretty much the norm in this area. The staff are very nice and lead you to your site. The store and restrooms are nice and the rec room is a metal building were they show a movie at night and have some games and pool table. It was quiet and we had no problems, for a overnight stay it's acceptable. We camped at Santa Fe KOA in a Motorhome.

Dakota Ridge RV Park, Golden, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

The facilities as far as restrooms and laundry, pool and rec are nice, beyond that this campground was the worst we have experienced in a month on the road. We were in a site along the back row that looked down on a factory back full of junk and they worked from 6am till 9 or 10 at night with a forklift beeping all day and loud steel dropping. The back door of our rv was a few inches from a steep hill and if you tripped you would roll down into the factory. The mtc. people brought over a wooden platform to put under our rear steps so no one would fall but it in itself was dangerous. Not even a fence to close off the rear of the park so we looked at oil drums, and piles of junk. We would never go back here again, we spent 3days as we visited friends in the area. They charged us the same rate for this substandard spot as the rigs up near the office that were in decent spots. The area is a little seedy as well and there is no security. Very disappointing, the only reason we give it a 2 is the bathrooms are nice although far from our site. 20M was the # so beware. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Heyburn Riverside RV Park, Heyburn, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed overnight on way to Co. and were very pleased. It is on the Snake River and very clean. The camp host Charlie is very nice. Across the street is a Cheese Factory with the greatest ice cream and snacks to buy. The only thing we did not care for is the bathrooms and showers are nice but in a public park attached to the rv park and thus open to all who use the park. They are marked rv guests only but there are no fences or any security at all. We had no problems here though and for a overnight it is very nice and you don't need to unhook. There is NO shade however. We camped at Heyburn Riverside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
