About GregT44266

Happily married and almost an empty-nester. Looking forward to exploring North America. My wife and I enjoy camping while exploring the local attractions, food, and culture. Thanks to my parents, I've been camping for as long as I can remember.

Mosquito Lake State Park, Cortland, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

My wife and I really enjoy this park. It does not have a lot of amenities, but it is clean with large semi-secluded camping spots cut into the forest (most of the sites are in the forest) however, there are some sites in an open area. If you want one of the more secluded sites I would avoid 1 - 4, 37 - 47, 93 - 106, and 128 - 131. The campground has 1 rather nice bathroom/showerhouse with laundry machines. The rest of the park has vault toilets which I find to be unpleasant. If you are tent camping here I would recommend a site close to the showerhouse. We camped at Mosquito Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lone Pine Campsites, Colchester, Vermont

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

My wife and I really enjoyed this park. The campsites were very close together though, without landscaping between them. The grounds were clean and well kept and the bathrooms were also clean. Though they had a pool and small putt-putt course, I would not consider this campground a destination campground. This campground works well for people needing a base-camp while visiting the region. We camped at Lone Pine Campsites in a Tent Trailer.

Mill Creek Camping COE, Berlin Center, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

My family really enjoyed this campground. We stayed in the Hickory loop and found our site (#41) to be spacious. The grounds were well kept and clean. There was a lot of space between sites, but very little foliage separating them. The bathrooms were not very nice and toward the end of the day pretty dirty, but still usable.

The staff and campground hosts we encountered were very nice and helpful. The camp hosts sold ice cream treats ($1) and well seasoned firewood ($5) for the Friends of the Mill Creek Campground.

We will be returning to Mill Creek campground soon. We camped at Mill Creek Camping COE in a Tent Trailer.
