Lake Hill Campground, Frankfort, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here May 25 & 26, 2018. First time here. We were supposed to leave on May 28th but left early. First, let me say the woman owner we dealt with was very nice and helpful once we found her. When we arrived we had problems finding anyone to check us in along with another person who had arrived. There is a shack at the entrance we thought was were you checked in, but a sign on the door saying to "go to the round house". This house was up on a hill and if you are in an RV you have to walk up a steep gravel road to get to it. If you are handicapped, good luck. But once we found her she was very nice. Our campsite was #1, pictured below. It looks deceiving but it isn't good. The road to it is gravel, and in my opinion, in bad shape with holes and ruts in it. Our site was between a "bunk house" on the left and a seasonal spot on the right. The seasonal spot is junky. Whoever is staying there apparently hasn't been there in awhile because it if filthy and junky. I find it unbelievable the owners are putting up with it. Very difficult to take a walk around the campground because of the road conditions and with it being so hilly in some spots it is actually dangerous because the asphalt in part of the steep road is eroded and has come apart. That mixed with the gravel makes walking up or down it dangerous. My wife slipped and stumbled and slid and fell. I found the campground in a run down condition. They charge you to take showers there. You have to put a quarter in a metered box for each 3 minutes! I read they did this because people were leaving the showers running but they could have put push buttons in to stop that instead of coin machines. Twice I found no toilet paper in stalls. Hey, the internet was good! We won't return. This is hard to write because the woman was so nice. But I think it has been let run down and it looks junky, especially where we were camped at site 1. We left a day early just to get out of there. We camped at Lake Hill Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Absolutely nothing to do in the area. Closest is Hocking Hills, 1 hour drive. They do have what they call a lake is actually a large pond that you can swim in. They have a little beach. If you decide to walk around the campground be very careful on the hills due to loose gravel and loose asphalt!

Brown County / Nashville KOA, Nashville, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here a number of times but this time was the best. Since the last time here they have upgraded 3 sites to outstanding sites! New grill, concrete patio with new table and chairs. plus a 2 seat glider and a really nice fire ring. I have to say, with the improvements, this has been the best camping site we have ever had. I hope they do more sites like this instead of just the 3. The staff is very nice and very helpful. They guided me to my site and even helped with parking the RV in the spot. We camped in a motor home and pulled a trailer with a motorcycle. We were able to keep the trailer hooked up. Very quiet and peaceful. Only complaint, the WIFI was weak and sometimes not working. I would recommend this to anyone. We were be back. We camped at Brown County / Nashville KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nashville is a good place to park and shop. It is very crowded during weekend and especially during the fall. If you ride a motorcycle, this area is great! Travel 135 south for a good ride.

West Branch State Park, Ravenna, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

I have to say, this is the best State Park campground we have stayed at. They have a mixture of full hookup, pull-through, and tent camping. Most sites are very spacious, so you are not on top of each other, plenty of room. It was very quiet and right next to a lake. If you have a boat, this is a great place to go! Their marina has boats you can rent as well. For a state park, it was really nice! The bathrooms are top notch with great showers, better than some RV resorts. I would rate this park a 5 out of 5! We camped at West Branch State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We towed our motorcycle and did a lot of riding in the country. Not far from Canton, Akron, and Cleveland but we stayed out of the cities. If you are looking for a very quiet place to relax, this is the place. They have a small beach on the campgrounds and a large one on the other side of the lake.

Evergreen Park Resort RV Resort, Dundee, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

This is about the cleanest campground we have been too. We were on site 1 and loved it. The bathrooms and showers are great. Very clean. They have an indoor poor and whirlpool and it was nice. If you get a site in the lower end, I noticed you will have to use blocks to level your unit. I have zero negative remarks to make about this place. Outside the grounds, the scenery is beautiful. We camped at Evergreen Park Resort RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You are in the middle of Amish Country. Berlin has the most shopping if you are into that and it is about 15 miles south. Lehman's hardware is about 10 away and a must see. They have everything there! Plenty to do and see but just remember that just about everything is closed on Sunday's.

Natural Springs Resort, New Paris, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 3 nights. Arrived, plugged electric in, the box immediately started smoking and I quickly unplugged with some slight damage to my plug. If I had walked away like I normally do, this would have bee BAD. Called desk and they sent 2 men out who replaced the 30 amp plug. They offered no apology, didn't even talk, but it was fixed. We found the place nice, restrooms clean but the showers are terrible! No place to put your clothes or towels, no seat, no shelving. You can't adjust the water temperature. You turn it on and you get what they have it set at and it's cold. We did have fun at the pool and beach but we probably won't come back because of the bad showers and it is crowded at the sites. You are packed in tight and you have to back in to about 4 feet from the camper behind you because of the positions of the outlets and water hookups. We camped at Natural Springs Resort in a Motorhome.

Dayton KOA, Brookville, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

First time we stayed here and found it really pretty nice. The employees were polite and helpful. Large KOA so they used a golf cart and guided us to our sight and left. I liked that. The place is clean and the restrooms and showers were top notch! Heck, they even had TV in them! We enjoyed the pool and it was clean and very nice. A farmer pulled a wagon in loaded with produce while we were there and we bought some. Nice and fresh. This is one of the best KOA's we have stayed in and will surely return. We camped at Dayton KOA in a Motorhome.
