Tifton KOA, Tifton, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here for an overnight. Farm/like setting with two bulls and horses. Nice walking trail and you can let dogs run off leash in the pet area. Lots of permanent RVs, but park was very quiet. The other two RV parks are right off the freeway and noisy! Staff told us about Chicago pizza and pasta, which delivered a wonderful Greek salad and pizza. We would stay here again overnight if we are in the area. We camped at Tifton KOA in a Motorhome.

Manchester KOA, Manchester, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

The owners have put a lot of money into hardscape. Many concrete level Pads with patios and wrought iron furniture. Portable hot tub was clean and nice. Pool was nice with slides for the kids. Trees all round with an enclosed pet area. This is our second stay here. The downside is it's near the highway. We camped at Manchester KOA in a Motorhome.

Oakwoods Trails Campground, Austin, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This small and rustic park is located on a family farm, surrounded by corn fields. Pretty location and quiet! We only stayed a night to see the SPAM Museum but would return. Extremely pretty walking trail where our terrier mutt flushed two deer and thought he was a hunter. The owner and his wife are very helpful and friendly. The entrance is a gravel road, but that was not a issue for us. Love family parks where the owners care.

Don't let the gravel road scare you. I do not think there was WIFI but we have unlimited date with AT&T. Quiet without pool or activities. We camped at Oakwoods Trails Campground in a Motorhome.

Navigation was fine with a 38 motor home and tow. Might be tight for a big fifth wheel, but doable.

Artillery Ridge Campground, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

The site was a little unlevel but you are in a historical site where metal detectors are prohibited. It was part of the battleground for reservists. You are less tha a quarter of a mile to the park--so convenient. We hired a guide, which brought the three at battle to

Life. Don't miss the diorama and Cyclorama/--old technology but interesting. We camped at Artillery Ridge Campground in a Motorhome.

Cherry Hill Park, College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to stay while touring DC. A little crowded, but still could sit out at night. Do not miss the 4 o'clock orientation on how to see DC. We rode the Metro and Circular Bus instead of pay big bucks for Hop on and Hop off. They have day and night Grayline tours from the campground too. We did the night tour and enjoyed it. If you have a dog, their recommended dog walker is great. 240-501-7455. There is also a business that will wash and wax your coach while you have a great time. Make sure you read all of the information you will get. They made touring DC a breeze! But we walked 6-7 miles a day...hot tub was welcome. Would definitely visit again. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.

Pennsylvania Dutch Campsites, Bernville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Avoid the place at all costs. The first site they directed us to was not level and the water was not accessible. Other sites on that row had low hanging wires and tree branches. We found a better site in a different area and the lady said it was okay to move there as long as we backed in (there were empty pull throughs) and used 30 amp. We were passport America. So we moved, leveled, pulled out the slides etc. then discovered that the polarity on the 30 amp was reversed and the 50 amp only registered 30 amps with fluctuating current. Luckily is was not hot so we could dry camp. I called the office at 2:30 and she said she would try to find a maintenance person but it was late! In the meantime, the only other person camped in the area said that he had similar problem and the owners son had told him he could move. His coach had a high end surge protector. so he stayed out. The lady in the office called at four and said we could move or they would refund our money, we were only staying one night so we did not bother. In the morning the lady at the desk, with the owner standing right there, said no refunds. This is totally irresponsible to have known electrical problems that could damage your coach. STAY AWAY. We camped at Pennsylvania Dutch Campsites in a Motorhome.

Avoid this disreputable park. We have been on the road 4 months and this was the worst.

Saugerties / Woodstock KOA, Saugerties, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park with a camping feel. Lots of trees, spacious sites, green. Nice pull through, good hook up, etc. small dog park, but it's better than most parks. Nice disc golf area for walking the dog. Pool closed for the season. Husband showered and said it took a while for the water to heat. We only stayed one night but liked it. Wifi worked, which is unusual after spending four months on the road. We camped at Saugerties / Woodstock KOA in a Motorhome.

Palmyra Golf & RV Resort, Palmyra, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in B3 over Labor Day. What a wonderful campground setting vs RV park. Level sites, plenty of space,

Great fire pits with grassy spots. I would come again for a week. The golf course was discounted. We had full hook ups with satellite. WIFI came and went but it was better than most RV parks ( we are on month four of our travels). We camped at Palmyra Golf & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Riverview Campground & Canoe Livery, Sterling, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Tight spaces for big rigs. We stayed Thursday night. This place is huge and fills up on weekends. I bet it is one big party. We had a little challenge parking because the desk told us to enter the spot the wrong way. We had a pull-through and almost had to unhook. Would stay again with Passport America. We did not raft because they require that you not leave the dog at camp. Looked fun! We camped at Riverview Campground & Canoe Livery in a Motorhome.

Lakeshore Park Campground, Saint Ignace, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This could be a nice park if it got some TLC. The spot we had was level and the place was quiet. The bathrooms are old, which is okay, but they were filthy. Showers curtain were unraveling, floors needed resurfacing and were dirty, mildew in showers and on ceilings, light fixtures full of bugs. This is a family owned park and reflects a lack of pride in ownership. Nice walk across the street to the water with a rocky beach. This is our first night of a two night stay. We had a shade tree and lots of grassy area behind the coach. We camped at Lakeshore Park Campground in a Motorhome.
