Hickory Hills Campground, Albert Lea, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is a few miles off of I35. A couple of those miles are on a dirt road. Nice check- in area with a nice swimming pool. A good share, over 50%, appeared to be seasonal campers. We were there during the week & it was extremely quiet. Our disappointment was when host drove his cart to our site. There was a tree that would obstruct our RV when the slides were out. We had mentioned this but he appeared not to care & drove off. I know trees in a campground our an asset. However, I wished owners would also realize branches in the wrong place are a BIG detriment. Branches scatch paint and poke holes in our homes. We camped at Hickory Hills Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Shipshewana Campground - South Park, Shipshewana, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We were there for a rally & there were over 80 RVs belonging to our group. The park is nice and well maintained. The sites were close, so close that not every lot had a fire pit. Our slides did not touch, but it was close. We had events to attend but the campground itself had no extra curricular items. The laundry room was clean, but on the last day when I was washing, 2 out 4 machines were not working & there was a terrible odor permeating in the building. What makes this campground stick out is the location. Shipshewana is Amish country. It is close to shops & it is convenient for nice drives in countryside. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Arrowhead Acres Campground, Clinton, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 2 nights. It was a nice manicured area. It is out in the country away from traffic and next to a corn field, a serene setting. It is VERY quiet. The lots are not organized as they are scattered with no certain pattern. The hosts were very kind and helpful. There is no laundromat on site so we drove about 15 minutes to town. We camped at Arrowhead Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Beacon RV Park, Saint Joseph, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We chose this campground because of the close proximity to I29. We were surprised that it is in town & on a busy road. This campground is an old trailer park. To enter the area the road is on a downward slope. The road goes left and right to the office with a little more slope. It looks very awkward especially for big rigs. The host showed us to our spot with no incidents. There were other big rigs there so I think it is the first impression of the entrance into the campground. It is a friendly place with nice shade. We spent 2 nights. We camped at Beacon RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Countryside Campgrounds, Lennox, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is right next to I29. To check into campground, you go to the convenience store/gas station. It is a busy area but we slept ok. We stayed one night so it satisfied our needs. There are 38 sites & ours was full hookup. There was a cement slab with a picnic table & the lawn area was well groomed. It appeared to have a few seasonal campers and it appeared that road workers had a campers there. We called to reserve a site about 6 hours before we arrived. They were full by the time we arrived. We camped at Countryside Campgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Small Towne RV Park, Terry, Montana

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

It is an old trailer park turned RV park. There are no trailers currently at this site. It is a laid back type park. The owner welcomed us with an outdoor mat, 1/2 dz eggs and a binder of information about the area & a couple of coupons. The campground has full hookups, including 50 amp. We drove north of town to Scenic View, which overlooks the Badlands. It is a beautiful view. The Calypso Trail is west of town. We had already seen it, but it is best to go with a rugged type vehicle and some guidance from someone local. We camped at Small Towne RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Billings KOA, Billings, Montana

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 3 nights. The campground was clean and well manacured. The laundry facility was clean and the restrooms were immaculate. Since it was before Memorial Day weekend, the pool and hot tub were not available. The mini golf was open. We appreciated the dog park and the trails to walk our dog. We camped at Billings KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Alexandria Shooting Park and RV Campground, Alexandria, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This park is also a trap shooting park. It is about 1/4 mile from I-94, making it convenient traveling through Minnesota. We called ahead & were told no reservations needed. They have over 140 hook-ups with water and electric. There is no sewer but the dump station is located by the exit. It was quiet and though one could here traffic on the interstate it was not loud or annoying. The park is located about 5 - 10 minutes from town. It is a great place for one to two nights. It has a friendly, laid back atmosphere. There were not many campers when we were there, but if it was full, we could not have our awnings extend on our slides. The sites are definitely close for big rigs. We camped at Alexandria Shooting Park and RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
