This was the best park in the area; not a resort, but adequate. Right next to a highway that carries a fair amount of traffic during the day, but very little at night. Cable TV has limited channels and three sites share one access point, so you may need a long cable; however, the manager found one that she lent us. Cable was only available on the row closest to the highway. The manager was friendly and very nice. There is only one shower for males and one for females, but I only had to wait on one occasion. All sites are unpaved and fairly close together. We were in the park for about two weeks while working in the area and our rate reflects the weekly rate; the normal daily rate was $25. There were other campers in the area that appeared to be in the area because of work, but most left before or about the same time as us. No one appeared to be a long-term resident. We would stay in this park again. There is limited cell phone connectivity in the area. We were told that some small regional providers have managed to keep out the national providers. We were told by several local residents that ATT/Cingular, Sprint nor Verizon users are able to get a signal within a 30-mile radius of Brownwood.

This is a very nice campground for the price. We stayed 15 days (weekly rate was $130). Owners/hosts were very friendly and accommodating. You need to get WiFi password from him as she readily admits she knows nothing about computers. Quite a few long-term folks in the park. Our site was fairly close to the highway but traffic noise was bearable. Close to Bastrop proper and Home Depot and Wal-Mart are just down the road. We would definitely stay here again.
