Flagstaff KOA, Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Very tight for a big rig. Sites are close together, and there are many large rocks throughout the park which hinder turning coaches. We had to back out of our site to avoid a rock in at the front of our site because there wasn't enough room to pull far enough forward to avoid it. Picnic table was leveled with large stones under the legs. We camped at Flagstaff KOA in a Motorhome.

Good location to hit the National Parks, Meteor Crater, Lowell Planatarium, and downtown. Cuvée 928 was a fun restaurant on the square.

Lake Mead RV Village, Boulder City, Nevada

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was not level. Appear that others near us weren't either! Nice park built on tiers - bushes need to be cut back a little so the lake is visible. There is a long row of sites that front on the lake. Didn't know about them before we arrived. Sites in among the park homes. Internet was slow and intermittent. We camped at Lake Mead RV Village in a Motorhome.

Sam's Beachcomber RV Resort, Lake Havasu City, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Park is on the water but for $60 our site wasn't. Tight sites and tight for big rigs. No internet except at rec center or office. Took us at least 15 minutes to get through gate after checking in. Gentleman had a very difficult time putting a sticker on our car and coach. We camped at Sam's Beachcomber RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The MotorCoach Resort, Chandler, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

New campground that will improve with age- attached to large storage facility which worked perfectly for us as we stored coach and car while we flew home for the holidays. Noise problem being so close to Rt 10 but plantings and fence should help. We camped at The MotorCoach Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice little restaurant at the local golf club, otherwise bring everything with you. Tent Rocks are amazing to climb - a couple different trails for young and old.

Yellowstone Park / West Entrance KOA, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

The park was ok. Farther from Yellowstone than I had realized. Our original premium site looked out onto the bathrooms and when I requested another location, the desk clerk was quite annoyed, but did move us a few sites further down the line. We camped at Yellowstone Park / West Entrance KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If I were to go back to Yellowstone again, I'd try to find a campground that was closer to the park. It was next door to the Bar N ranch where we went for a delicious dinner. The IMAX in West Yellowstone was good. The town is just your typical tourist trap.

Whistler Gulch RV Park & Campground, Deadwood, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Expensive for what you get. No tv, no cable, lots are right on top of one another. Our site was level. Best thing going for the park is its proximity to Deadwood and Lead. We camped at Whistler Gulch RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Fun little town with lots going on all day long. There is a trolley into town that stops by the park every half hour and costs a $1.00 each way if you don't want to try walking.

Rapid City RV Park and Campground, Rapid City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We thoroughly enjoyed this park. Our gravel site was level with just enough room in the front for the car to be parked sideways. The staff was very helpful and appeared to be updating the park. We would definitely come back. We camped at Rapid City RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Aside from the normal big sites, we enjoyed visiting the Mammoth Site in Hot Springs. We would highly recommend dining at the Wine Cellar, Minerva's, and Botticellis (make reservations at all of them) Rapid City is a great small town that is full of friendly people and is easy to navigate.

Dakota Campgrounds, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We had a one night stay after getting delayed a day at our previous stop. The owner was so nice about it and didn't charge us. He held our mail for us. Park was treed but easy for us to maneuver. Folks next to us use the park often. We would return if we ever get back here. We camped at Dakota Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Camp Sandusky, Sandusky, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Park was full of trees which made it difficult to maneuver with a motor home. There is an extra fee for cable. Crop dusters were flying overhead before 7 am. We camped at Camp Sandusky in a Motorhome.
