Alpen Rose RV Park, Durango, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground convenient to Durango. It was raining when we arrived - someone met us in a golf cart and took us straight to our site. Since we had reservations, they told us not to worry about "checking in" until after the rain stopped (which was very nice). Some of the sites are very close to each other and the big rig sites have very little shade, but the upside is you can get a satellite signal. They have a a very small pool, small swing set, volleyball net, and basketball hoop for the kids; and a nice big area to walk the dog. They have a dog walking service if you would like to take an all day excursion (which the train is, by the way). For $10, they walked our dog twice. We will return to this campground. We camped at Alpen Rose RV Park in a Motorhome.

4J+1+1 RV Park & Campground, Ouray, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice small campground convenient to downtown Ouray. If you would like the option of being able to walk to town, this is the best place to stay. As other reviews have mentioned the campground is older, but very clean. The bathrooms were immaculate. We had no problem with getting in or out, but the campground was not full. There is a trailer park on site, however the owners have done a nice job of making the grounds beautiful. We stayed with two children (8 & 10) and they loved the Hot Springs pool. You can also walk to the pool from the campground. We will return! We camped at 4J+1+1 RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Fishing Bridge Campground (NPS Campground), Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: May, 2007 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

I was afraid of what I would find at this campground after reading all of the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. The sites are packed in and you don't have any space to yourself, but it is convenient to the prettiest part of the park. We saw a ton of wildlife in the Fishing Bridge area. We stayed so busy, the only time we were in the campground was to sleep. If hook-ups are more important to you than space, this is the place for you. We camped at Fishing Bridge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Happy Holiday Resort, Rapid City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2007 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground. Convenient to most everything in the area. There are campgrounds that are prettier and more centrally located, but we wanted to stay near the interstate. Across the street from Reptile Gardens and close to Bear Country USA. Very nice people and easy to work with. If the campground was full, it would be difficult for the big rigs to get around and there is a mobile home park on the side and back of the campground. We camped at Happy Holiday Resort in a Motorhome.
