This park offers peace and quiet, serenity and unmatched sunsets over Lake Superior. It's large and very peaceful. There is not much to do except hike, bike ride and enjoy the beach and lake. For us, this campground had everything we like about camping. Negative things were no sewer hookups, but there is a dump station. Also, they have no dumpsters so you must take out any trash you bring in yourself. The site we had was right on the lake, site # 78, very large and open. There is a campfire area and picnic table at each site. The roads are paved and its very neat and well kept up. We had a nice stay at this park.

This is a nice family campground. There were lots of kids and dogs and it was busy. We enjoyed it and it was peaceful at night even though a bit crowded. You can watch the freighters pass by on the shipping channel which is very cool. Nothing much for little kids to do except bike ride.Still a very well kept park.

We enjoyed our stay here. It was small and they do not take reservations. But if you call ahead the day you are coming they can let you know if they will have a spot for you. It was the only campground right in Houghton and closest to Michigan Tech University and downtown. Very quiet, our motorhome backed right up to the water with a little deck for each person, and picnic table and grill. Very friendly and helpful owners. We will stay here again, central location.
