North River Campground, Shawboro, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Love the space of this park. Overall look is beautiful with most sites situated to view the pond. Pros: Utilities are great with plenty of wifi power and bandwidth. Roomy level sites with patio and tables in good shape. Easy access even for big rigs with security gate. The friendliest folk you could ever ask for as park hosts. Cons: vehicle placard is the size of notebook paper and they want it hanging up in your car, very much a safety issue. dumpster is located outside the park area on entry road and not convenient for those sites located in back part of park. Should consider once a days trash pick up service to that area. Finally, due to the low level of this area, there is always standing water near by and the sweat bees, horse flies and dragon flies prevented us from going outside except to get into our car. Any other time we were attacked and bitten many times. This is not a controllable factor for the park but does effect my ability to enjoy my stay or recommend it as a summer place to camp. Having tried several repellents to no avail, I would only venture here again in cool/cold weather. We camped at North River Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Plan for 30 minutes to get anywhere from this park. It is nicely located in the country with very little noise or annoying light. If going to the outer banks, you need to stop by the Welcome Center for info.

Benchmark RV Park, Meridian, Mississippi

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Big rig friendly, park is on slight incline so sites are not perfectly level but jacks correct easily. Wifi is offered but not reliable. Water pressure is good & does not need suppression. Small dog park up near office but large field at back of park for dogs to play ball. Sadly park has breed restrictions. Great over night place to stay with easy access & acceptable distance from interstate. We camped at Benchmark RV Park in a Motorhome.

Shady Acres Campground, Mobile, Alabama

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

While most of the sites are filled with 'resident' campers, it is a quiet & clean park. It offers basic services, no pool, playground etc. Hosts are very friendly & helpful if you want info about the area. We stay here any time we are in the area. We have a 38' motorcoach with tow vehicle & it all fits in most of the RV slots. Larger motorcoaches will find the park a tight fit & several sites have large trees to maneuver around either pulling in or out of the slots. Not all sites are level; we have to use wheel supports most times we stay. You can hear the local train while in the park but not loud enough to effect sleep. Wifi appears to have been upgraded & offers good service even in the evenings when many are streaming. We camped at Shady Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Delta Ridge RV Park, Inc., Forrest City, Arkansas

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Great for an overnight only. A bit small for the longer rigs, especially if towing. Highway noise, no dog walk area. Entrance is towards the grocery store, then right. Good breakfast cafe up near the entrance. This place is a step up from boon docking. We camped at Delta Ridge RV Park, Inc. in a Motorhome.

A Stone's Throw RV Park, Lamont, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very small park, maybe 20 sites, but well kept up. Sits right next to interstate so there is some noise but not disturbing. Not Big Rig Friendly, limited Wi-fi that kept resetting. Sites are fairly level but are a tight fit. Full hook ups. Good pet yards with separations for large and small dogs. No cable but TV reception was good. Well lighted at night. No playground or pool. Cash or credit with a fee. Very friendly owner. Recommend overnight stop only. We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Motorhome.

Azalea Acres RV Park, Robertsdale, Alabama

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Adult Park with no children's activities. Large open field with long very level sites. Very big rig friendly. No tables but some concrete pads. Full hook ups with Wi-fi included but no cable. TV reception is fine. Very quiet with plenty of spacing between sites. No shade so summer heat would be brutal. No dog park but area is large and dogs can be walked around park without interacting with others or sites. Pizza take out place across the street and they deliver to park. Would recommend this place to any adults traveling. We will be back there again. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Skip first turn in from I-10 and take Patterson Road all the way. Much easier for large rigs and long tows. Call them as you leave I-10 and they will meet you at the gate to take you right to your site and then you can register.

City Of Roses RV Park, Thomasville, Georgia

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is an RV/trail neighborhood not a park. Junk cars with dogs tied to them, cats everywhere. The place out our front window looked to be a 'hoarder'. Many of the ' RV homes' were from the 60's & 70's model year. They claim 72 sites but at least 68 of them have permanent residents. Animal poop & trash was everywhere. Sites are grass/mud with ruts and large mud holes. No wifi or cable. No toilets/showers mentioned as available. This is the first place in 22 years where we felt compelled to lock up our outer bins on the RV & leave nothing out overnight. Part of the park smelled of sewer every time I walked the dogs. This place shouldn't be approved as a Passport America park; it degrades confidence in PA as a good recommendation. So why did we stay here, only place in town near family. But never again!!! I will drive a longer distance before I would stay here again. Can not recommend this to anyone. We camped at City Of Roses RV Park in a Motorhome.
