Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve, Santee, California

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We reserved our spot ahead 6 months & received a monthly rate of $30/night. At the end of the month SDG&E calculates your electric bill. Even though we were gone for about 10 days during the month of December, we ended up with an electric bill of over $100 for that month. What a shock that was. The office staff was patient when I asked them to verify the amount. Although Santee Lakes is a convenient location for us, the expensive electric bill is a deal breaker for us. We will look elsewhere for our monthly visits. I agree with the comment about the showers...no private place to change or dress, shower heads are placed @ an awkward angle & the one time I went for a shower there was no hot water. The grounds around the lakes are beautiful but the campground itself feels like it is deteriorating. We camped at Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve in a Motorhome.

Cherry Hill Park, College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

We had breakfast at the cafe in the RV park. Very mediocre & the biscuits & gravy were inedible. This deterred us from eating there at all throughout our stay. That was our only disappointment. Showers & restrooms were very clean, smelled fresh & clean too. Well stocked store with very helpful, very friendly staff. Did not use the laundry facility. This is the perfect RV park for a home base to tour the Washington DC area. Easy in & out & there was always someone available if you had questions regarding attractions, grocery stores etc. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We attended the sight seeing sessions which were very informative. However, we drove into D.C. on a Sunday & parked under the Ronald Reagan building for $15 all day. Parking cost is reduced there on weekends & holidays. We went again on a weekday & parking was $25. We enjoy the freedom of having our car to come & go.

Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort, Hardeeville, South Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The sites are large & wide. Quiet park. Short drive to Savannah. Recommend walking the trail to the park that's next door. If you're into frisbee golf, the park has a great game field. There's also kayaking the scenic, nature filled waters. This is a woodsy RV campground but we still had very good cell service & WiFi ability. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Spend time in: Sergeant Jasper County Park (trail from RV park to this park), Savannah, Hilton Head. We spent a day & 1/2 in Savannah. We took a trolley ride in the town to get oriented & then did a walking tour on our own. Lasting memories for sure.

Jolly Roger Travel Park, Marathon, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice saltwater pool that was kept very clean. Office staff was very helpful & friendly. Signs for the park are a little obscured, difficult to see right away when you're approaching the park for the first time. Just go a little slower & you'll see them. Maintenance of park is great. Was told our site was a pull thru but once you situate your RV, there's a tree in front that impedes the pull thru. Could possibly be a pull thru for a shorter, smaller RV. (We had a 40' RV) Would have liked more shade, but hey, it's Florida! We set up our dining canopy which helped. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a great RV park for central location of the Keys. The food & service at the SS Wreck is very to excellent & very close to the RV park. Their sauces, carrot cake & potato salad are homemade & very, very good. About an hours drive or so to Key West so make a day of it because it is worth it. Overseas Hwy speed limit changes between 45 to 55 mph & is consistently patrolled.

Rose Bay Travel Park, Port Orange, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

More than half of the park is occupied by permanent residences. Many of those are well maintained. We were unfortunately placed between 2 permanent trailer homes. Our site was all grass, no slab. 1 small picnic table which had a dirty, oily cloth covering stapled to it. We had to pick up trash from around our site. Neighbor allowed their dog to poop around the back area of both our site & their site. As a result there was dog poop every couple feet around that area. We requested to have our site changed & let the office staff know about the dog poop. Office staff was friendly but unable to accommodate request & as far as I could tell did not address dog poop situation. We will not return to this RV park. We camped at Rose Bay Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Cascade Peaks Family Campground (formerly Cascade Peaks RV Resort & Ca, Randle, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This park is close to Hwy 12 but by 9-10pm the road noise was much quieter. We were in the full hookup area, however the water/electricity hookups looked lush and tree shaded, and many were very close to the river. 2 pools, both almost constantly occupied by kids, many play areas and a zip line that was also almost constantly in use. This is a wonderful RV park for kids. We had absolutely no cell service or WiFi. Lounge, store, furniture around pool need serious upgrading. We camped at Cascade Peaks Family Campground (formerly Cascade Peaks RV Resort & Ca in a Motorhome.

Rainbows End RV Park, Sequim, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Very tight sites w/ sewer, water, and electric hookups located at front of RV right next to front door, chair & picnic table set up. Very, very loud road noise. Great WiFi and management staff friendly. Did not use restrooms/showers but they looked very old and worn down. Pretty pond and landscaping. I was more than ready to leave due to the amount of road noise. We camped at Rainbows End RV Park in a Motorhome.
