White Tank Regional Park, Waddell, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Fantastic campground, with very large sites. Tired of being squished next to your neighbors? Then camp here! There are a few drawbacks: No sewer hookups (dump station), and only one shower in bath house. But this is a minor "complaint" as the sites are very clean, quiet, incredible views, and extremely spacious. Yes, they do have a locked gate at night, and shopping/groceries are far away (2-30) minutes, but this park is well worth a stay in Winter & Spring. Excellent cell reception and plenty of over the air TV channels as well. We camped at White Tank Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

Verde Valley RV & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails), Cottonwood, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We have an annual Thousand Trails membership. After a year of trying it out, we renewed for 4 years. Basically, we live in Scottsdale & come up to Sedona where we store our camper. This place is extremely clean. Bathrooms, rec. rooms, etc. The pool is fantastic, there are plenty of activities, & for the most part it's great.

Too many full-timers for my liking, & you can't reserve sites. Other than that, it's a pretty great place. Cottonwood & Walmart are 10 minutes away for supplies, Sedona is 20-30 minutes, and I-17 about 10 min. They keep telling me lower sites, closer to pool, down the hill, will all be ready by 11/2016. We'll see. We camped at Verde Valley RV & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Travel Trailer.

Grand Canyon Caverns RV Park, Peach Springs, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This campground was great! There were probably 3-4 people in RVs while we were staying there, and maybe a handful of tent campers as well. So, we really enjoyed the openness and sparsely populated campground, with no one near us for at least 300 yards. The bathrooms are individual little rooms with large, clean showers, a toilet, and a sink. That's a really cool feature, instead of the usual "dorm-style," crowded, share-everything (sounds, smells, etc.) typical campground bathrooms! No sewer dump at individual sites, but there's an RV dump station near the front of the compound.

While this campground lacks certain amenities, that's what we liked the most about it: No Wi-Fi or cell phone service in this area, no TV stations came in on our antenna. It's truly an "Off the Beaten Path" kind of place. Yet, you still had free use of swimming pool, continental breakfast included, the marvelous Cave Tours, and more. We camped at Grand Canyon Caverns RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Desert Lakes Resort Adult RV Park, Tonto Basin, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Resort? Huh??? This is a parking lot, with no (as in ZERO) amenties. For what it is, it's OK. But, there are very few places nearby to stay in a RV if you're exploring Lake Roosevelt. The only good things about this place are that there is a decent store, restaurant, and bar within walking distance. Other than that, there are no restrooms, showers, dish cleaning stations, etc., etc. We camped at Desert Lakes Resort Adult RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Most people stay here have boats and jet skis. Water toys. They say it's an "adult" park, but seems kids are more than allowed. Pay fees at the bar!
