Bull Shoals - White River State Park, Bull Shoals, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Rarely give a 10, but this place is great. Exquisite views on the White River, the park itself is beautiful and the sites are roomy (Unless you are on a site that backs up to the River). Park Rangers are informative, and the boat dock here is terrific. Only negative, if you want one, is the Boat dock has the only WIFI. I brought my own hotspot, so it doesn't matter. TV over the air is fine, several channels from Springfield, MO, and one from Little Rock. Site is level, water at 50PSI, and electricity is good. Can use 50, 30, or 20 amp. Got here during the rain, and site was a little muddy, but hey, this is Arkansas. We camped at Bull Shoals - White River State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Bull Shoals have basic shopping. Lake View nearby is very limited, and Mountain Home 15 miles away had almost anything you might need. White River is stocked with 200,000 rainbows every month of the year. Flow is regulated at the damn, and can fluctuate widely. Need to be cautious at the river current is swift.

Crowley's Ridge State Park, Paragould, Arkansas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful state park. Camping area is small, and many of the sites are far from level both front to back, and side to side. There are no sewers, which is common in our parks, but the dump site is clean, and very well laid out. Electrical hookup and water were both very good. The restroom, showers, and entire area is very well maintained. The interior road is narrow, and there is a small turn around at the end of the road. I had to back and forth 3 times with only a 27 foot trailer. Some sites are very roomy, others are very close. I had to ask my neighbor to move his truck to get into my site. #12. With all those qualifiers, it is a beautiful setting, wildlife abundant, and very fresh and clean. We camped at Crowley's Ridge State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Close to Jonesboro and Paragould for shopping. Jonesboro is the home of Arkansas State University, with sporting and cultural events. Lots of chain and local restaurants in both Paragould and Jonesboro. Sams Club and a large mall (The Mall at Turtle Creek) has all the shopping you could want.

Ol' Macdonald's Farm, Savannah, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Very difficult to stay here. It is poorly marked, never did find the restroom or the office. The sites are newly graveled, so the trailer left ruts backing in. Need 50+ feet of water hose, and same may be true for electrical. Sharing pedestal for electric and one water post per two trailers. Some don't have splitters for the water. It looks like they are adding a pool, and this could be a really great place, but right now it is very difficult to stay here. We camped at Ol' Macdonald's Farm in a Travel Trailer.

Yankton / Missouri River KOA, Yankton, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

A nice KOA near the Missouri Rive. I was just driving through and wanted one night in this area. State Parks required two nights, and I was able to get in here. People at the store/desk are very helpful, the site is FHU and everything is as it should be. The interior roads are fine and easy to navigate. The park is clean and attractive. Is expensive for this area, but wanted FHU and only one night. We camped at Yankton / Missouri River KOA in a Travel Trailer.

The Roost Resort, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

An exquisite little resort. The setting is magnificent, the staff very helpful. Restrooms and showers are cleaner than home (in a log house that smells so good). Only 8 sites and one pull-through, but this place is a real gem. If you are in the Custer area, don't miss this one. Does not have a pool. but cool enough here, I didn't need one. Each site has its own trash can. Interior roads are a little tight and gravel, but with patience easy to maneuver. We camped at The Roost Resort in a Travel Trailer.

An older KOA in an area without a lot of traffic. Very few people here, but the staff here was very helpful and nice. Laundry was clean, everything is well taken care of, but older. We camped at Lyman KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Sand Hollow State Park, Hurricane, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

The Park itself is very nice. There is a warning at the lake about "Swimmers Itch" being present in the water. When I got to my site, my EMS indicated reversed polarity so I went to the office. Was told that it was ok, there is no positive or negative wiring in the park. Checked other sites, reverse polarity there too. Not one other camper had EMS. Was 106 outside so I plugged in. The State of Utah needs to fix this issue. Nice people in the office. The site was level and spacious, although there is no shade in the desert. We camped at Sand Hollow State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful resort in Las Vegas. Large resort with over 800 sites. Check in was a little confusing with parking for about 10 rigs at a time, and most were filled. People at check in were very helpful and fast. Site is excellent and interior roads are well marked and easy to navigate. Resort has a children's pool with "beach sand" and an adult pool and spa. Landscaping is fabulous with sprinklers coming on daily. This is a desert though, so there isn't a lot of shade. This week will hit 110 so having good air conditioners is important. Location is about 4 miles from the strip, and resort is located just off I 15. We camped at Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Anaheim RV Park, Anaheim, California

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

After hours check-in was fantastic. Attendant was very helpful and informative. It seems most people arrive after hours. The park is ok, sites are FHU with excellent cable. WIFI is so slow, I used my own hot spot. Swimming pool and spa are small, but great for the kids. Very close to Disney, so nightly fireworks (good or bad depending on your attitude). Some road noise and "city" sounds. Is expensive, but this is SoCal and the location is close to most of what you want in SoCal. We camped at Anaheim RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort , Felton, California

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

A really wonderful, special RV Park nestled in the redwoods. Nicely laid out, with very friendly staff and campers. A truly joyful campground. Very well laid out with FHU, excellent wifi and cable. A destination resort in a wonderful forested area. All the hookups were great. The getting into the site was a little tricky, but the neighbors helped to guide me in. Lots of kids having fun, and very much a family oriented resort. We camped at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Orange Grove RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

A delightful RV Park in the middle of an Orange Grove. Very well laid out, utilities were excellent. Wifi was intermittent but generally satisfactory. People there were very helpful and the park was immaculate. Whenever I'm near Bakersfield, I'll return there. A fun place to stay, although a little out of town, and Bakersfield is certainly not a destination City. We camped at Orange Grove RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great value for an overnight stay. Park is very secure, and utilities are excellent. Wi-Fi is free and good. Over the air TV, all the major channels. This part of Arizona is hot, hot, hot in June. Very nice RV park. Very well laid out, full hookup was excellent, including cable and WiFi. Facilities have everything you could want: Pool, spa, club house, small store, and very near I-40. Pool has gas grills for cooking. Rest rooms and showers are clean and new, plenty of room. Even has storm shelters, just in case. Site was perfectly level with plenty of parking for the tow vehicle. Plenty of room for slides. We camped at Oasis RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Table Rock Lake State Park, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Is a nice but older state park. Restrooms & showers are clean but dated. Site was relatively level, with 50 amp service. Ours was well shaded, and close to a water supply. Can be difficult to get into some sites, lots of posts, trees, and objects in the way. Office people are terrific, very helpful. Part of this park is flooded due to the May rains of 2017, so several sites are not available, and repair work is in process. We camped at Table Rock Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

A beautiful campground in a heavily wooded area, very well maintained. Sites are very close together with barely enough room for our slide. WFI, cable, and all worked very well. Just a joy of a campground. Wish we could stay a few days, but were just driving through. Late arrival was very easy. Site was a not fully level, but not a big issue, and was a drive through.
