Nashville East / Lebanon KOA, Lebanon, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice KOA just east of Nashville. Very helpful front desk people, I had wanted 50 amp, pull through and none were available when I called for the reservation. When I arrive, a person had left early and the desk people remembered my request and changed it for me. The campground shows a lot of recent work. Very clean, well kept and maintained. Internal roads are excellent and the sites are quite nice. You are in the hills, so perfectly level doesn't exist, but most are pretty close. Side to side very good, front to back some level of slope. 50 amp service was excellent, good water pressure and sewer on our site #46. Pool looked very nice, playground is fine, everything here is well done. We camped at Nashville East / Lebanon KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Ebenezer Park, Rock Hill, South Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This is a wonderful small County run park that has it all. Lake swimming, boating, wooded campsites and some that are not. Very helpful people on site. I changed my reservation twice and they really worked to accommodate my one night stay. We had a full hookup drive through site #31 that was wonderful. Really couldn't ask for more. My fifth wheel had a water issue and the Ranger shut the water off. Hadn't been back at the site 5 minutes before someone told me about it. Really helpful. Roads and sites in that park are all first rate. We camped at Ebenezer Park in a Fifth Wheel.

If you are looking for a five star restaurant, try The Pump House. Great food, seating inside or outside overlooking the River. Three people about $110 without drinks.

Warriors Path State Park, Kingsport, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Three days before arriving they had a Microburst come through that knocked out power and downed many trees, so this review will be a little odd. I was supposed to arrive on Sunday, but had truck problems and kept changing the date. The office people were terrific, very flexible and helpful in accommodating me. Couldn't ask for more, when we arrived the rangers were out with chain saws still cleaning up the mess. The park is beautiful and shows great care. The camping section is somewhat dated. The roads are not in great shape, very narrow and hard to navigate. The sites are all back in, some easy, some not so much, and the vary in length. We have 50 amp service which is strong, the water pressure is a little low, and there is no sewer. OTA TV is great, Verizon phone is strong. Some sites are level, others less so. The biggest negative is trying to turn a large rig around so you can leave. Overall a very nice park, just dated. We camped at Warriors Path State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC), College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

This is an exquisite Resort Park, and a great home base to visit Washington. The site was excellent, water at 45 psi with two hoses attached, sewer excellent, and 50 amp circuit was perfect. Site was level and very well maintained. The park is spotless and nice flower pots in many areas. The amenities are terrific, two pools, hot tub, sauna and a very clean laundry room. Lots for the kids to do, with an outdoor movie every night. On site snack bar is terrific with fresh cinnamon buns and Herseys ice cream. Never been in a nicer park. Expensive, but good value. They do charge for occupants including children and pets. We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Fifth Wheel.

Mahlon Dickerson Reservation, Jefferson Township, New Jersey

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Reservation help was excellent. We got in after dark, site #7 took 25 tries to back in, then got help from a retired trucker. Took her 15 tries and we aren't in straight. 34 ft Fifth wheel and F350. The park is beautiful wooded New Jersey hills. Very scenic. Electricity is fine with 50 amp service. Water hoses are provided on this site as the connection is about 100 feet away, and is in the middle of the woods, very odd setup. Others have water on their site near the street, but requires extra hoses. There is no sewer, but there is a dump station. This is a small park with only 19 sites, none are perfectly level, but most are easy to adjust for. Overall a very nice place, but the water and site 7 issue made it difficult for us. Water connections are difficult to find. Will need extra hose. We camped at Mahlon Dickerson Reservation in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Jefferson Diner nearby is one of the 5 best diners in NJ. I'm from New England and the lobster bisque was the best I've ever had. Bring a big appetite. The country around here is beautiful wooded hills with lots of lakes. Not too far from NYC, and easy commute by taking the train.

Campers Haven RV Resort, Dennis Port, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. I don't understand the past negative reviews. It is fairly large with 245 sites, and 80-90% are seasonal use, but well maintained and attractive. Private beach on Vineyard Sound, with great activities for kids and adults. Snack bar on site is very nice, store is well stocked and staff very helpful. Cable is excellent, WIFI was awful during the weekend, but to be expected. Right next door is a good beach restaurant. 50 amp service was fine, water pressure good, sewer is an odd issue here. Can only dump gray water. A truck pumps your black out on Tuesday and Friday, or you can use the dump stations. A whole new sewer system will be installed 2018-2019 winter. Interior roads were tight but navigable with my F350 pulling 34 ft fifth wheel. Some pads concrete, our pull through was gravel, but fine and we arrived after a big rain. Very pretty grounds. Well worth staying here. Very good price for Cape Cod and terrific location. We camped at Campers Haven RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The Villages RV Park at Turning Stone, Verona, New York

Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful resort. Very well maintained, staffed and cared for. The grounds are natural and exquisite. Our site was FHU and level. Cable was fine but didn't find WIFI. Did not look as we have our own hotspot. The two lakes are clean and fresh. Lots for kids and families to do. Can't say enough positive about this place. Overall Rating:

Great campground with lots to do. Very well maintain, but lots of permanent trailers here too. People are very helpful. Site not very level, but all the services work well. This is a large campground with a very nice pool, club house and fishing lake. The kids love the bounce pillow. Dog area is very nice and secure. We are just passing through but would be nice to stay here for a few days. We camped at Thompson / Grand River Valley KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Casey KOA, Casey, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice stopover KOA just off I70. Grounds are well maintained, utilities all worked as they should and the staff was both friendly and helpful. Site was fairly level and there was plenty of room as the campground was only about a third full. The road in is a little bumpy coming in, but certainly adequate. The pool is nice, lake and grounds quite pretty. This is a small KOA, and very friendly. We camped at Casey KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Table Rock Lake State Park, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

A really nice state park. I have stayed here before. All services (electric, water and sewer) are first rate. Was very hot, 90+ and 50 amp power never dropped below 121 volts even when every site was full. Water pressure was 45psi, and sewer was fine. Television is a little limited using over the air, but satisfactory. The staff and rangers were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Most of the larger sites at Campground 2 are level, Campground 1 not so much. Lastly, this seems to be a tent camping mecca. Lots of tent campers and very well set up. This campground is always my first choice when I come to Branson. Only negative I can think of is that the picnic tables need new 2x6 boards. They have aged out. We camped at Table Rock Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Best dining in Branson is at College of the Ozarks, Ketter Center, but need reservations. All the beef, lamb and pork are grown at the college. Home made ice cream, and all the grains are milled at the college so breads are fantastic. Great experience and service (students) is excellent. Price is very reasonable.

Catherine's Landing, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

A really terrific campground, very well laid out and maintained. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We were here with about 60 other units and the Campground handled everything very efficiently. Water pressure was find, 15, 30 & 50 amp electrical was fine, and sewer was slightly uphill but not an issue. The site had a level concrete pad with table, grill and fire pit. We had a back in site that was very easy to get into and nothing close to be in the way. The roads in the campground are all paved and easy to navigate. Hot Springs has a lot of road construction so the directions provided by the Campground website would not work. GPS is often wrong in Hot Springs so we got lost. Did find a 10'3" railroad bridge in our way. I suggest you call and get verbal directions or use phone GPS. Nature trail is nice, Yurt area well done, and Tent Camping had wood floor/bases. They are adding another 100 spaces to this campground. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

Petit Jean State Park, Morrilton, Arkansas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

A beautiful state park. My site was in Campground A, site 22. Terrific lake and forest views. The park itself has many attractions including hiking trails from strenuous to easy. The lake has several types of fish including Crappie(Good eating). Went to a large waterfall today pouring water into a huge grotto, was a spectacular hike. The lodge is a CCC style building with a terrific restaurant. Breakfast, lunch and dinner reasonably priced in a great setting. The park employees are helpful and courteous. My site was FHU and everything was working exactly as it should. Water pressure at 50 psi, 121 volt 50 amp service with no issues. We camped at Petit Jean State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Frog Hollow Campground RV Park, Grenada, Mississippi

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived at 7:15 p.m. on a Sunday night, and the owners were there to greet us. They theoretically close the office at 7:30, but I bet they will always greet Campers. Small but very nice park. Electricity (50 amp), water and sewer were all first rate. It had been raining for several days in a row, so some of the turf was torn up, but the gravel roads and sites were all in very good shape. Is halfway between Memphis and Jackson, fairly close to Oxford and right off 55. Easy on and off, with a little traffic noise, but not bad. Would clearly stay there again if I was traveling through. Meaher State Park, Spanish Fort, Alabama

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Really nice small State Park, right on the water. Four inches of rain yesterday so some of the grounds were flooded, but none of the sites or roads. Very nice large sites with full hooks ups. Sites really easy to back into, and almost level. Plenty of room and the park is very nice. Grounds are well kept, the staff very nice, and there is a locked front gate at night with an access code. Only negative is the WIFI is VERY slow -- .1 MPS down. Verizon is fairly good here for the hotspot is fine. TV OTA is ok. 16-25 stations depending on where the antenna is pointing. Most signals are good-weak. They do warn about ants, so bring Boric acid to spread around the parts of your coach that touch the ground. Interior roads are excellent, big units will have no issues here. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tombigbee State Park, Tupelo, Mississippi

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

We were just traveling through and stopped during a horrible rain period. Rain didn't stop for two days and most of the campground had water puddle over the grass and leaves. The park employees were terrific when we checked in, and the office is worth a visit. The campsite was excellent, good water and mine was 30 amp, but they do have some with 50. We didn't have sewer, but some sites do. Very pretty area, wish we could have enjoyed it, but too much rain. Tupelo is a really nice city to visit. Some good restaurants and music. Lots of things to do in Tupelo. Elvis's birthplace was ok, but $14 just to see the house which is 400 square feet is pretty steep. Stables Restaurant is a nice bar/restaurant is you like loud, but friendly. We then went to Vanelli's Bistro is very informal and the food is terrific. Even brought out soup complementary. Voz is the owner and is a real character, you'll enjoy meeting him. Jerry Garcia type and was musician in the early 70's.
