Lakeside Marina & Campground, Jamestown, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

An interesting city park just outside Jamestown. It's on the same property as a beautiful reservoir but within walking distance of the marina. A nice host came to collect our fee and he apparently oversees the marina as well as the RV park. The host may not be at the Marina when you arrive, but someone is available by phone. Signage in the park could be better. Host came by to collect fee and I wrote him a check. The RV park had only a few campers but apparently it gets very busy on weekends. Lots of beautiful trees and picnic tables. Felt like we were out in the country. Just a few minutes into town. We camped at Lakeside Marina & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Hansen Family Campground and Storage, LLC, Havre, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for one night as planned. Nice park in very remote area 10 miles east of Havre. Only a few campers so we felt secluded. Level, gravel roads. Newer infrastructure. Because of its remoteness, it's actually quite beautiful. Horses and cattle graze next to park. Route 2 is main road thru this area of Mt. so day time traffic is heavy and park is adjacent to road. Train traffic is heavy and park is adjacent to tracks. Host was very friendly and helpful. Good place for a one night visit. We camped at Hansen Family Campground and Storage, LLC in a Travel Trailer.

There are no services for 10 miles. Get fuel and food before settling in. Our iPhone app gave us incorrect directions. Park is right on Rt. 2 10 miles east of Havre. Can't miss it.

San-Suz-Ed RV Park, West Glacier, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Enjoyed the park. Sites are fairly close, but mitigated by beautiful pine trees that separate each site. Park is well run. This park is immediately adjacent to Route 2, the main road in the area. Road noise is heavy. The park is large and very busy, but because of the woods, we felt secluded. Very convenient to Glacier NP. Some train traffic nearby. We camped at San-Suz-Ed RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Black Sandy State Park, Helena, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was right on the water and we enjoyed great views of the river. The sites are very close together and it is a very busy park. Although it's a bit remote, it felt like we were in a city park. Site was not level on one side so I had to park even closer to the adjacent camper. It's a bit disappointing to be in such a beautiful setting yet happy that we didn't stay more than 1 night. Would not return. Host at entrance was very friendly. We camped at Black Sandy State Park in a Travel Trailer.

7th Ranch RV Camp, Garryowen, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground. Well maintained. Sits on the side of a hill, but all the sites look level. Most sites have large cottonwoods for shade. Infrastructure looks new and we maintained. We'd certainly return. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We camped at 7th Ranch RV Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Since it's pretty remote, when I first saw it from the highway I thought that it must be our destination. Then I concluded I was wrong because we kept going and there was no turnoff. Turns out that the exit is 4 miles down the interstate and we needed to come back on the service road next to the interstate. It's a nice paved service road. The last half mile into the park is on well maintained gravel road. It's close to the highway but we didn't notice excessive road noise.

Platte River RV & Campground, Glenrock, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Host who greeted us and guided us to our spot was very courteous and professional. Park has no shade. A few saplings have been planted but it will be years before they provide shade. Infrastructure appears very new. Office and showers are in pre mfg housing. Located in a beautiful location with views of bluffs and river. Park is right next to North Platte River. Because of recent rain, it's running high and wide. The host warned us about mosquitoes and was she correct! Yikes! Make sure you have repellent. Water pressure in the morning was poor. I could never locate the server for wifi. I was able to get on internet because Verizon had 3 bars. An ok place for one night stay. Sites are gravel and level. We camped at Platte River RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Yellowstone Holiday RV Campground & Marina, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

This park is on the north shore of Hebegen Lake. It's part of a fairly large marina. It's 13 miles north of West Yellowstone, so it's very secluded, although it's right off a busy two lane road. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rv sites are spacious and level and have great views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The interior roads are gravel. Most of the sites are back in. The facility that houses the office, showers and laundry rooms look to be very new. Everything was very clean including the grounds. Electrical, water and sewer all worked fine and were well positioned on the site. The rate is high but everything in West Yellowstone is high. The RV park is 12 miles away from West Yellowstone, so plan carefully for anything you need for meals while in West Yellowstone. West Yellowstone has several restaurants and at least 2 grocery stores. We camped at Yellowstone Holiday RV Campground & Marina in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This turned out to be very convenient base from which we made several trips to Yellowstone Park. Entrance to the Park is right at West Yellowstone and is about 14 miles from some of the more popular things to see in the Park. There's a great restaurant up the road west of the RV park. We had a terrific breakfast, with our seats about 50 feet from the beautiful Madison River.

Buffalo Bill State Park, Cody, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicest state parks we've stayed in. RV parking is on the north side of a huge reservoir with some of the prettiest scenery in Wyoming. Lots are spacious and on level payment. All have great views. All appeared fairly new and are well kept. Park is near the main road from Cody to Yellowstone, but the road noise isn't a problem and basically stops after dark. A really nice treat! We camped at Buffalo Bill State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Eagle RV Park, Thermopolis, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

A nice park located in the town off the main road. Sites are level and spacious with plenty of shade from large trees. Utilities are all well maintained. I needed help with my cable TV and the owner was very helpful. Road is busy during the day but dwindles to almost no traffic in the evening. We camped at Eagle RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Hot Springs State Park is in the town proper. It resembles a very large park. There's a large pool and a couple of commercial hot springs spas in the park. The State has a spa as well. We did not have time to use any of them but they look very well maintained. The park would be a nice place for a lunch. There's a well stocked grocery store in town and several restaurants in the downtown area. Don't miss a drive through the Wind River Canyon. Spectacular!

Red Desert Rose Campground (formerly RV World Campground), Rawlins, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed on 2 different nights, one on our way to Yellowstone, and one on the return trip. It's a very convenient park for a one night stay. It looks like many people use it for that purpose. It's very near I-80 so there's road noise, of course, and there's heavy train traffic nearby. We knew all this before making reservations so we were not surprised. The staff is very friendly and they have a loaner car if you need to go to town for dinner. We took advantage of this great service. We used the laundry facilities which are very clean and efficient. There are no trees so don't expect shade. We camped at Red Desert Rose Campground (formerly RV World Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Pine Grove RV Park and Campground, Greenwood, Nebraska

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Signage is not good for west bound travelers. Watch carefully for a small RV sign immediately after exiting I-80. The park is west of the exit and immediately north of I-80. Spacious lots on gravel roads, surrounded by well kept grass. The young man who served us upon arrival has excellent customer service skills. The office is very tidy and well stocked with convenience store type items. It has a small café and the staff can prepare some basic food items for eating at the café or taking back to your trailer. We enjoyed an ice cream cone after dinner. Park is clean and well kept. Fairly close to I-80 so there is road noise, but very tolerable. We would stay again!
