Brazos Valley RV Park, Caldwell, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We hosted a rally here and found the sites nicely prepared, and sized with fine hook ups. Very little to no shade as the park is a recent development. Staff extremely helpful and courteous. Rally-room/kitchen is very well stocked and clean. The highway noise might be an occasional issue but the 5 AM DIESELS starting up and going to work from all the resident oil-field workers is a startling/disturbing way to start the morning. They all have loud diesels, they all warm them up for long periods, then they drive around checking on each other or car-pooling until the morning is thoroughly disturbed. No sleeping in late. :{ We camped at Brazos Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

In the early mornings, Watch the Bubbas go back inside their RV while his diesel idles in long warmups, then watch the parade of diesels drive to each other's sites to see how things are going and if they're ready to parade to work.

Shady Pines RV Park, Texarkana, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Running behind schedule, tired of driving, called for a last minute/after hours reservation and was cheerfully taken care of. Paperwork on bulletin board for checkin...took care of the money next morning, no problems. Very clean park, nicely landscaped/groomed, level concrete sites, excellent quality pedestals. Quiet park, good rest. Left next morning after an oil change and pickup supplies at nearby WalMart. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overland Trail Campground, Fort Davis, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is a real experience, almost a throw-back to the 1940's travel park. The owner is reclusive, but once met, is OK.

Let me explain: I did not have a reservation (and the sites were virtually empty, as this place almost appears abandoned.) I rang the doorbell at the screen-door: no answer. Tried again. No answer. Spoke loudly thru the screen (in case mgr was in back room) and almost beside me, sitting in the dark, a loud response "I'm sitting right HERE!"

I asked if there was a campsite avail, and he asked what kind of RV, and how long. I said, "22' Airstream" and he said "HOW LONG?"

Oh, I said, "Two days."

It'll be $24/day! When I was allowed to enter the darkness, I saw from a picture he was a former C130 loadmaster. When I asked about his AF Service: he warmed right up and became sociable.

After that, it was a pleasant stay in a quiet, grassy, small camp. I was so amused by the quaintness. I will stay here next time also. No other campers in this busy time of year. Right in the little downtown area. Good elect/water/sewer, but that's about it.

This place is much more solitary than the crowded state park. I liked it very much. We camped at Overland Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Junction/North Llano River RV Park, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Pleasant experience. We only stayed one nite while underway elsewhere, but will come back again. This is a great place, not too far off the I-10 to make it easy to get to, but far enough away that no hiway noise. VERY clean and hospitable. We camped at Junction/North Llano River RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lagoons RV Resort, Rockport, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed with a group of Airstream in a rally. First time user. The park was immaculately clean, the community-building/kitchen/mtg room excellent in every respect. Park mgr met us and helped us to our site. The actual owners are "absentee" (a partnership from Canada) but the staff was very friendly and accommodating. True, no campsite trash pickup, but trash bins conveniently located. We had a back-in site next to the conference room. Wonderful experience w/only one concern: Neighbors had two Yeti coolers cut from chain and stolen during the night. Local police came to take report, but stated this was not uncommon in resort/seaside areas.

We used our own Verizon "hotspot" and had good wifi/cell coverage. We camped at Lagoons RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Two Rivers Campground, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed two nights, near front of park. Highway noise is not objectionable.

Next door to multiple RV Dealerships. Good facilities. Very complete store, but closes at 6PM. GREAT beer selection/prices.

Very nice pool: but it closes well before dark, 9PM summertime :{

Disregard other poster's comment about low water pressure. Mine was low also, until I removed my external regulator. Then it was very fine. (My coach has a built-in regulator and two were simply too much.)

Very late arrival was well-accommodated with excellent directions in envelope at front office. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Two Rivers Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Site was sufficient to stay connected, but we visited Andrew Jackson's Hermitage and Grand Ole Opry so disconnected.
