Orlando / Kissimmee KOA, Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $78.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in this KOA for the weekend while visiting Disney World. This campground is an easy drive to Disney, the route to Disney avoids the I-4 highway that is mostly a parking lot from time to time. The campground is very well maintained and clean. We were able to get all 4 bars of cell service from both ATT and Verizon so we did not have to rely on the campground's wifi. The best part of this campground is that the pool is open 23 hours a day. So when you get back from a long day at Disney, lets say after midnight, you can soak in the hot tub or swim in the heated pool. The restrooms were modern and clean. We definitely will be back. We camped at Orlando / Kissimmee KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Manatee Springs State Park, Chiefland, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This state park is a gem! The park and campground are surrounded by lush forest crawling with wildlife. Deer romped thru the park. We also saw turtles, gators, but no Manatees. It was wrong time of the year for the Manatees. The springs were crystal clear and cold. Once you get used to the 72 degree water, the snorkeling was amazing. We stayed in the Magnolia loop that has full service. The restrooms were new and clean. The pull thru site was large enough for me to not have to unhook from our 34' 5th wheel, but we did so we could explore the park and the surrounding town. There is also a fire pit and picnic table at our campsite. The road in the campground was in need of some grading, lots of pot holes and tight turns. You just have to go slow and we had no problem navigating our 34' 5th wheel. We just took it real slow. Cell signal was poor at only 1 bar for both Verizon and ATT. Only phone calls and texts got thru. No DATA. If you travel the 2 miles to just outide of the park you get service. We got a handful of tv stations over the air. The park is about 6 miles from town with restaurants and grocery stores. We camped at Manatee Springs State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Gulf State Park Campground, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

This state park is a bit pricier than most state parks but is well worth the price! Lots of amenities and activities to do. We only stayed one night but will definitely be back with our bicycles. We had a full hookup pull thru site. We did not have to unhook if we did not want to, but we did so we could do some exploring of the area. The restrooms were super nice and very clean. This is one of the best campsites we have stayed at. We camped at Gulf State Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Chicot State Park, Lake Village, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 1 night as a stop over for our trip back to Florida from Utah. I got tired of the private campgrounds that were basically a parking lot. This state park is a few miles off of the highway down a 2 lane farm road. It was a nice drive to the park. We did not have reservations but we were able to grab the last pull thru campsite with full hook up. The campsite was level with lots of space between campsites. It was mostly an open grassy area between campsites. The restrooms were dated but clean. Very quiet night in the park. No cell service in the park with either ATT or Verizon. Very nice park that I wish we had more time to visit. We camped at Lake Chicot State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Limon KOA, Limon, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here overnight, got in around 8pm and back on the road at 8am. The campground is convenient to the interstate, easy to get in and out. They have a nice dog walk area, with many other fun activities like a pool, horseshoes, volleyball, playground, game room. Like a typical KOA it is a bit overpriced for just an overnight spot. The electric was clean, water pressure was high so you need a regulator. They do deliver pizza to your campsite if you wish. The best thing about our stay was that the site was long enough for both my fifth wheel and truck so I did NOT have to disconnect. We camped at Limon KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Springville / Provo KOA, Springville, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

This is a typical KOA. Campsites are very close together, and no shade. There was a lush strip of grass between campsites. ATT & Verizon had strong signals. Restrooms and Showers were nice and clean. Laundry facilities were nice with $1.50 for a wash and $1.50 for an hour of drying. The one downside is they do not offer cable TV. That is why I gave it a 3 star on value. The pool was heated, but still a bit cold for my Florida blood. I would not have had to disconnect if I did not want to, but I did because we did some exploring of the area. We camped at Springville / Provo KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park, Mancos, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this rv park because it was right outside of the Mesa Verde National Park. We needed full hook up and the National Park Campground only had dry camping available on Memorial Day Weekend. The park was nice, had great view of the mountains. Showers and restrooms were quite far away from our campsite. The Hot Tub was very refreshing. Cell service for both Verizon and ATT was non existent. If we were lucky we could only get text messages. If you need full hook up and are visiting Mesa Verde NP this is the campsite for you! We camped at Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park, Santa Rosa, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This is a convenient campground to the Interstate. It sits on the historic Route 66. This is an older campground that is very well maintained and clean. This campground is in the desert so there is not much grass, mostly gravel and dirt. There are a variety of different hook up options. We took a 30 amp electric and water only. There is a dump station. There are 50 amp full hook up sites available too. The sites are pull thru and are very long and can accommodate any size RV. We only unhooked because we needed our truck to run errands. Otherwise we could have stayed hooked up. The laundry room has 4 washers and 4 dryers. $1.50 for a wash and $1.00 for 45 minutes of drying. The pool is open during the summer, starting on Memorial Day weekend. We will definitely stay here again when in the area! We camped at Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The BBQ restaurant located behind the campground office is OK. Limited selection of items and the food was plain. If you don't want to drive somewhere to eat then this is an OK option. By the way if you order the cheese stick appetizer, know that they do NOT have marinara sauce to dip it in. Like I said it was a limited selection of items to choose from.

Twin Fountains RV Park, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

This is an awesome RV Resort. It has concrete pads, picnic table, and a fire ring at each site. A dog walk for the 4 legged kids along with an onsite dog groomer! There is a heated pool and a HOT TUB! Mini golf, playground, game room with pool table and ping pong. A well stocked camp store with the basics for groceries and camping supplies. There is also a bar and grill that serves pizza, wings, and burgers. The bar is a FULL LIQUOR bar for your enjoyment!!! The laundry facilities are nice and reasonably priced at $1.50 for washer and $1.50 for dryer. The only down side is that there is not much in the way of restaurants close by except for fast food restaurants. We did have to disconnect to get our auto leveling system to work properly. Otherwise the space was long enough that we would not have to disconnect if we did not want to. We camped at Twin Fountains RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cherokee Lakes RV Park, Alexander, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is off the beaten path. GPS took us the back way into the campground thru some narrow, winding, and hilly roads. The traffic was light so it was not a problem pulling a 5thwheel down the narrow roads. You will need to call ahead to get better directions, the owner also needs to meet you at the entrance to open the gate. Then there is a long private road that is all gravel before you get to the actual campground. The campsites are very close together. The neighboring camper needed to pull in his awning in order for us to extend our slideout. The sites are all gravel, no grass or trees. We only stayed overnight so we did not check out the restrooms. I dont know if I will stay here again. We camped at Cherokee Lakes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Azalea Acres RV Park, Robertsdale, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for an overnight on our way out West! The campgrounds are nice. We got a Concrete pad site and it was level. Many of the other sites are grass or gravel. Both ATT & Verizon had full bars. The electric, water & sewer connections are in easy access for hook up. The bathrooms were spotless and updated with nice tile. The one downside on our visit was the water heater was broken so no Hot water for our stay, only cold water. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Canal COE, Grand Rivers, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is the 2nd year we have spent a week here at Canal Campground for the CYL Jamboree in Grand Rivers. Our site backed up to the lake with a lot of trees around for a great shaded site. There is only electric and water, no sewer which was fine. There is a dump station near the entrance. The restrooms were basic but very clean. The showers had GREAT water pressure and there was plenty of HOT water. ATT & Verizon had good service with 2 to 3 bars of service. We will definitely be back! We camped at Canal COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Birmingham South Campground, Pelham, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

We only spent 1 night at this park. We arrived after hours. The check in process for after hours was easy. On the night arrival board they listed the sites that were available and how long each site can accommodate. We took a pull thru, the hook ups were right on and close to where we needed to connect up to. The rv park is close to the interstate so it was convenient with many choices of fast food restaurants to choose from. Both ATT & Verizon had strong signals. We will definitely stay here again. Nashville North KOA, Goodlettsville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here at North Nashville KOA after the KOA in Lebenon TN was sold out. We had just traded our travel trailer in for our new 5th wheel and only had 1 hour to transfer everything to the new trailer. We spent most of the night cleaning and organizing. I will say that the staff was great, the restrooms and showers were clean and recently updated with new tile floors and walls. We got the last pull thru site. The sites were very close together and muddy. Some new gravel in the sites would help with this problem. We only stayed one night and was on our way back onto the highway by 9:00 am. The pull thru site was long enough for our 5th wheel and our tow vehicle where we did not have to unhitch. We camped at Nashville North KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Bowling Green KOA, Bowling Green, Kentucky

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Bowling Green KOA because of trouble with out Travel Trailer. Dunlap RV was awesome in helping us get back on the road. We got a premium full hook up site that came complete with a concrete patio with a fire pit, bench and table with 4 chairs. This was a very nice touch. As far as cell service we had 4 bars for both ATT & Verizon. Restrooms and showers were clean. They were older facilities but were upgraded with new tile floors and tile on the walls. Laundry was good with 3 working washers and 5 working dryers. It was $2.50 for a 30 min wash and $1.00 for 30 min dryer. Our loads needed about 45 mins to dry completely so I had to add 2 more quarters to get the extra drying time. We will definitely come back when we can spend more time exploring the area and not fixing our Travel Trailer. We camped at Bowling Green KOA in a Travel Trailer.
