Stephen F. Austin State Park, San Felipe, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a real pretty park. The slots are on two loops, an inner and outer loop. The outer loop in our opinion has better views. All slots are pull-through but a bit small for a 45' MH. It fit but barely. There is only 30 amp service so an adapter is required. I didn't have one but picked one up at an RV store within 5 miles of the park. Good cell and WiFi coverage. We did a lot of hiking in the park. The trails are shaded, wide, and smooth enough to ride bikes. The Brazos river trail is probably permanently closed due to previous flooding. The mosquitos are horrendous so be prepared during the spring/summer months. We camped at Stephen F. Austin State Park in a Motorhome.

Mother Neff State Park, Moody, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautifully maintained park that was renovated about three years ago; the buildings all look new. There are not many sites, only 20. Some are pull-through, but all are very spacious and meticulously maintained. The little courtyard by our site was made of crushed granite - it was raked prior to our arrival, a very nice touch. We did some hiking and thoroughly enjoyed the trails - shady and well-maintained. Literature states max rig size of 40 - this is wrong, 45' can easily fit in all slots. We camped at Mother Neff State Park in a Motorhome.

Guadalupe River State Park (GRSP), Spring Branch, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice state park. The slots are tight for big rigs (we have a 45'). The slots were asphalt, not level, but manageable. We did a lot of hiking, and it's decent, the trails are very shady and mostly flat. Good WiFi and phone reception. We camped at Guadalupe River State Park (GRSP) in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Guadalupe River, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

We liked this park a lot. There is ongoing construction - when complete this will be an outstanding family oriented park. They already have many activities for kids with more on the way. Our site was pricey, but it was spacious, brand new, and commanded a fantastic view of the Guadalupe river. The staff was very helpful and friendly - we will definitely keep this park on our list for weekend getaways. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Guadalupe River in a Motorhome.

Gulf Coast RV Resort, Beaumont, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for just one night to break up a long trip. The park is moderate in size, with great roads and large pull-through cement sites. The sites are close together, I wouldn't want to stay here for a long time, but it suited our needs. They offer a free breakfast which is a nice touch. We camped at Gulf Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pontchartrain Landing, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in this park over Christmas. We stayed in their "Deluxe" sites which include waterfront on the canal. The site was nice and clean, but tight for my 45' coach. The park roads are gravel with gravel mostly level sites. Hookups were on the wrong side; routing under the coach was fun but workable. We travel with pets and there is plenty of grassy areas in the park and nearby. The park is within 15 minutes to the French quarter. We will stay here again on future trips to NOLA. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.

South Padre Island KOA, South Padre Island, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the Regal sites, their top of the line. It was pricey, but each site had full hook ups, a large patio built with nice pavers, large table with chairs, and a deck with adirondack chairs that overlooked the bay. The sites were pull in and very tight for our 45' coach, but we had three coaches so it worked out fine. We stayed three nights and will stay here again next year. We camped at South Padre Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Garner State Park, Concan, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the Rio Frio Camping area. The slots were spread apart, level, paved, and 50 Amp with water, but no sewer. The park is real nice, our slot #426, was a short walk to the Frio river which is real nice, especially when its warm outside. It's easy to find your slot initially, but challenging to navigate around the park looking for the trails. Signage is limited until you stumble on your trail, then viola! Park maps are not very good.

We had a great time and will definitely return to check out more of the trails. We camped at Garner State Park in a Motorhome.

Bonito Hollow RV Park & Campground, Alto, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park nestled in the woods and hills near Ruidoso. A very picturesque stream runs along the edge of the property. The folks managing the park were friendly and helpful. There is a very small store onsite for essentials, however, major shopping and grocery stores are within 15 minutes of the park. We arrived near dark and were still led to our site. the sites are plenty large enough for big rigs. There are campsites intermixed with the RV sites. Many hiking trails are nearby that were varied and interesting. We camped at Bonito Hollow RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.
