Rondeau Provincial Park, Morpeth, Ontario

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The camp store was closed for the season, but the nature office was open and was quite interesting. The beaches were nice, but the water was cold in October. Lots of roads and paths to bike. only problem, my sister in law got a tick and had to go to the hospital in Blenhiem. They thought it was a dog tick, not a deer tick. Deer ticks are a problem though, so you have to check yourself constantly. We camped at Rondeau Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

MacGregor Point Provincial Park, Port Elgin, Ontario

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Campsite in Algonquin section were big and spacious. Neighbours not too close. Lots of trees and shade. Electrical outlets are far away. My 50' cord wouldn't reach. My B.I.L. had an extra 25' and that made it. We camped at MacGregor Point Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Port Elgin, pop. 10,000, close by for shopping, restaurants, bars, etc. There is a good golf course, Saugeen GC, close by too. Beach at park on Lake Huron was good, walking trails about 3 to 5 miles long, roads wide enough for biking.

Wheatley Provincial Park, Wheatley, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We visited Wheatley Provincial Park during the Monarch Butterfly migration south from Point Pelee. That was really cool. Wheatley P.P. was very busy, so book early. The Park was very clean and the staff was helpful. Our site was in the Middle Creek campground and the sites were spacious for our 24' trailer, and were wooded enough for some privacy.

They have some nice walking trails, down to the beach. We would go back. Oh and there is a public 9 hole course, just outside the Park. Next time we will take our clubs. We camped at Wheatley Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Point Pelee National Park is nearby. It is a "must" visit. Lots of walking and biking trails. Bike rentals, I think. Canoe and Kayak rentals for sure. Small city of Leamington has lots of stores for shopping and good restaurants for dining, while in town. The ferry leaves here for Pelee Island.

Pinery Provincial Park, Grand Bend, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We try to go to the Pinery every summer. It is one of the largest and more popular Provincial Parks in Ontario. It has all the necessities you need in a Park. Most sites are spacious and have a degree of privacy. There is a dump station on the way out of the park.

The beach is nice. The fishing is good for the kids. There is bike rentals along with canoes and kayaks. There are plenty of good hiking trails in the Park. The town of Grand Bend is close by. We camped at Pinery Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.
