Des Moines West KOA, Adel, Iowa

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This is the nicest KOA we've stayed at yet. We only use KOA's for overniters. This is the best so far. Very clean well run campground. Lots of activities for kids. Hookups were all perfectly placed, cable worked great with plenty of stations. All campsites are pull through and are very long. Long enough for a 45 ft MH and toad left connected. We camped at Des Moines West KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Colorado Heights Camping Resort, Monument, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

My pull through site I requested was barely a pull through. The guy said it's easier to back in. OK, I did that and with where they want you to park the trailer either the slideout won't go out or I couldn't use the awning because of the trees they left. So I had to position the trailer forward so I could use both. I had barely enough room to park my truck in the front. And parking at the rear was on a hill so that wouldn't work. Power, water and sewer hookups were good. Then there was the noise from I-25. Since the speed limit is 75 and everyone does 85 and it's the top of the hill you hear the traffic all day and night. You are up at 5 a.m. Whether you like it or not. I will find another campground if in the area. We camped at Colorado Heights Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) , Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Nicely located campground. Sites are level front to back, but side to side needs some work. I needed 6 inches of leveling boards to get level. Other than that it was great. Short walk to the lake and the "Village" area. The General store has decent WiFi, and lots of good shopping along with a small food store with a good array of food. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

The Lake is great and clean. We kayaked it and it was great. Any kayak, canoe 10feet and longer needs a permit. Watch for bears! We saw 2 when we were there. One in the campground, and one in the peninsula. Take the scenic road to Jackson Hole and take the lift to the top of the mountain.

Fishing Bridge Campground (NPS Campground), Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

For its location his campground is perfect! As a campground it isn't. Sites are tight, but your gone all day so when you get back you are inside. There was plenty of room to sit outside if you wish. Hookups were good except for the way to tall sewer hookup. You will need a water pressure regulator and they tell you that at check in. I had what they consider a 40ft site which I would challenge them to try it themselves. My TT is 35 feet and it barely fit. A 40 footer will not fit! So ask when you book. But for its placement inside Yellowstone it is the perfect campground with FHU's. We camped at Fishing Bridge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Perrys RV Park and Tent Campground, Red Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice little campground at the beginning of the Beartooth HWY. we had a pull through site up by the road, but the sites down by the river are very nice. It looks tight down there, but there were some 40ft class A's so it must be accessible. Our site was at a hit of an angle, but still easy to level out. Lots to do in the Red Lodge downtown area. We camped at Perrys RV Park and Tent Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Cedar Shore Resort, Oacoma, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We used this campground as an overnight stop. A big issue if you are not a regular is, there is no sign for the campground road. I had to pull into the hotel parking lot and turn around back to the road and pull into what looks like a service road! No big deal, but a sign would be a big help. Then I asked for a pull through, but they had me in a back in. I was upset at first, then I seen the pull throughs. I was then happy with my very long back in site that I could leave my truck hooked up. You have access to the hotel and it's amenities. Nice pool, outside bar area. Beautiful views of the river. It's an OK campground, with a "resort" in its name. All hookups worked great. Cable was clear but short on channels. We camped at Cedar Shore Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Milton/Madison SE KOA (formerly Hidden Valley RV Resort & Campground), Milton, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

We were here over Memorial Day weekend. It rained heavily! The roads are not paved and they use a gravel that is very muddy when wet. It looked like I was off roading when I got to my site. The new pull through sites are level, but there are low spots so there was standing water. Otherwise everything else was OK. Hookups were good and newer. The pool area was nice as was the rest of the park. However at $70 a night I think they could put some money into paving the roads! Yes it was that bad when wet! We camped at Milton/Madison SE KOA (formerly Hidden Valley RV Resort & Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Stand Rock Campground, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here again. Been going to the Dells since I was a kid. So far this is my favorite campground in the Dells area! Close enough to everything, but far enough to feel "away from it all". Campground is good size and well maintained. Bath house was very clean the 4 days we stayed. All hookups were in good working order. Plenty of shade. Nice trails to the Wisconsin River. We'll definitely be back again. We camped at Stand Rock Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

To keep the Dells from emptying your pockets......there are only a few things that you need to do. Do an Original Duck ride, Do an Upper Dells Boat Tour, go to Noah's Ark Water Park. We do only 2 of these a year. This year we did the water Park and rented a Pontoon boat from Holiday Shores. Everything else is just spending money needlessly!

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park, Wolf River, Fremont, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 2 nights. Our site looks like it had recently had some work done to it. No grass, just dirt and a gravel pad. It looks like it may have flooded a few days prior to us arriving. Hardly what I would call a "premium" site! The hookups were placed well and in good working order. The area we were in had plenty of shade. Everything else was nice. Pool was warm and the kids loved the water slide. Game room was OK. We may stay again, but the site selection would dictate if we actually did. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park, Wolf River in a Travel Trailer.

Munising Tourist Park Campground, Munising, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We were here the week after the 4th. Nice campground on Munising Bay (Lake Superior). We had a lakefront site that was all sand! I would've preferred grass, but it was OK. We were here after a heavy rain. Lots of standing water on the roads and on some sites. Some time spent with a grader and some gravel would do wonders! Water and electric hookups were in good shape. Brand new shower house and dump station this year! Perfect campground for seeing the area. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Hayward KOA, Hayward, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here over the 4th of July. When we checked in we were given a site. When we went to the pull-through site there was a motor Home there. Office was very helpful and looked into it immediately. Turns out the people pulled into the wrong site, so we were given theirs, no problem. And they gave us free passes for tubing, jumping pillow and water slide! Along with an apology. Very good customer service the entire weekend. Sites are small and even though we had a pull-through you need to disconnect to fit without being in the road. The sites are narrow. You need to position carefully if you have a slide and want to use your awning. All hookups were set up well and on good working order. Pool was warm and clean. You can tube, canoe and kayak from the campground via a shuttle. We've stayed at a lot of KOAs and this is by far the nicest one yet. We would definitely stay when in the area again. We camped at Hayward KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Illinois Beach State Park, Zion, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for Memorial Day weekend. It is a state park so we got what we thought we would, a campsite on Lake Michigan. Our site backed to the small dunes that lead out to the lake. Good size sites and fairly level. Nice trails from the back of the sites to the lake. Our site was across from the community water spigot, so between me and a friend in their trailer we had more than enough hose to keep our tanks filled for the weekend. We didn't use any of the bath houses so I can't say how good or bad they were. We camped at Illinois Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Another nice weekend! This is our 6th year going for Labor Day weekend. We had our regular lake front site. Very clean campground with lots to do for everyone. All hookups were perfect. Pool was nice, and warm. Kids had a blast as usual. We will be back again next year. We camped at Sunset Lakes Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Stand Rock Campground, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here the end of July. Nicely laid out about 2 1/2 miles from downtown Dells so it is a very quiet setting. We had site #43 which had a wood deck. Hookups were in good shape, except for some reason they like to have the sewer hookups 12 inches above the ground! Lots of shade trees. We`ve stayed in a lot of Dells area campgrounds and this one is by far the nicest we have stayed at! The bathrooms were exceptional. The pool area was nice and the pool was heated. They have some nice hiking trails in the woods that go back to the Wisconsin River and down to the waters edge. We were very happy with the campground and will be back next year. We camped at Stand Rock Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Beechnut Family Campground, Mount Airy, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

I chose this campground based on the proximity to Mt Airy. The campground is located off a frontage road off of I-74. You need to watch for the sign for the campground. The road looks like a driveway to a house. The road is long, winding and steep near the back of the campground! The campground is very family friendly and clean. We had a site at the back of the campground on a small lake/pond. A little on the tight side getting to it and backing in for our 35 foot TT, but was doable. Hookups were all in good shape. They have 3 heated pools, 2 are public, and one is for campers only. They also have a Zip Line. Perfect spot for seeing Mt Airy and Pilot Mountain. I rated it a 7 based on the road into the campground. I would go back again if in the area! We camped at Beechnut Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.
