Granite Hill Campground & Adventure Golf, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

I was was extremely dissatisfied by this campground especially for the money. We were parked in an open field with no road or pad with water and electric only for $49.00 on weekends and $44.00 Monday through Thursday.

The young lady that directed us to our site apparently never walked or drove the property. She directed us to use a road that did not lead to our site and was not fit for motorhomes. Actually most of the interior roads are very poorly maintained and few are worthy to drive on with a car much less a motorhome or trailer.

The restrooms are very old and as poorly maintained as the roads in the campground. They may have been as clean as can be expected but smelled old and musty.

The fact that they have bands on occasion does not excuse the poor condition of the property. We would never stay here again. There are too many other options. We camped at Granite Hill Campground & Adventure Golf in a Motorhome.

North Park Campground, Dickinson, North Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

As stated previously this is mostly permanent residents working the oil fields. However, it is a great and convenient RV park when passing through the area. It is not intended to be a family weekend vacation spot. The utilities were good, but Wi-Fi was not so. It was dry when we were there but I can see how the interior roads could be muddy during a rain. We stayed here in a 40 ft motorhome and would stay here again if in the area. We camped at North Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Cruise Inn RV Park and Lodging (formerly America's Best Inn and Suites, Alexandria, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is an unusually nice little RV park for being behind a motel. Most sites are level but a little crowded. This would be a great place for an overnight but some people stay here longer as a campground. We stayed here in a 40ft motorhome and would stay again if in the area. Call first they fill up quick in the evening. We camped at Cruise Inn RV Park and Lodging (formerly America's Best Inn and Suites in a Motorhome.

Gulf Waters RV Resort, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Price reflects weekly rate. We totally agree with previous reviews. This is a great and clean park with plenty of space. All sites are beautiful with many facing a pond for a view. The sites closer to the road are obviously a little more noisy but not intolerable. Sites can accommodate any size RV. There is a swimming pool but few other activities. The landscaping around the sites is one of the best we have found in MOST RV parks. We will stay here again when in the area. We camped at Gulf Waters RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If coming from the east definitely go through Aransas Pass and take the free ferry. The ferry can accommodate any size RV and we did NOT have to disconnect our tow vehicle. It is a shorter distance and you will not have to go through Corpus Christi.

Florida Springs RV Resort and Campgrounds, Bonifay, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

I agree with previous reviews. This is a quiet but very rustic campground close to Interstate 10, but the sites and grounds leave a lot to be desired. This is not someplace I would pick for any other than a necessary overnight stop while traveling. The restrooms were clean but small. The on-site restaurant is clean and cute. The food is supposed to be good. Beyond that this is all this place has to offer. We stayed in a 40ft motorhome with barely enough room with our tow car. We camped at Florida Springs RV Resort and Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This is a a great city park northeast of Jacksonville on the ocean. The campground is quite rustic but with decent spacing and full hookups. Bathhouses are older but clean. All sites are heavily treed so satellite use is very marginal if at all. There are all types of sites available, but there are adequate level sites for bigger RV as well. Interior roads are paved but narrow in many places, but again adequate to larger RVs. This is a great place to stay if in the area. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park in a Motorhome.

Oak Plantation Campground, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great campground to visit Charleston. The sites are level long and wide enough to not be cramped. The bathhouse is very clean. You can find site in either sun or shade. Good paved interior roads with gravel sites. Although it is a commercial campground the feel is more like a state park. Not a lot of amenities but good for a stopover to visit to Charleston. We would definitely stay here again in our motorhome. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Motorhome.

Corbin / Laurel Lake KOA, Corbin, Kentucky

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here as a stopover on our way to Florida. The interior road layout is tight and confusing. The sites are reasonably level but also tight. Plenty of trees. Convenient to the highway. Wi-Fi was slow and unreliable and Verizon was not great either. Could be very congested in the summer. We would stay here for an overnight stop in the future. We camped at Corbin / Laurel Lake KOA in a Motorhome.

Moose River Campground, St Johnsbury, Vermont

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

I agree with previous reviews. This is a great little campground especially the river sites. It is very quite and friendly. No swimming pool but kids love to play in the small shallow river. On the weekend they have free activities for all with live music. Great fun. The sites are well spaced and most are very level. The Wi-Fi was great. We would definitely camp here again. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Motorhome.

Red Apple Campground, Arundel, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very clean and well cared for campground. It is quiet and well situated just outside of Kennebunkport. Interior roads and campsite pads are paved. Spacing is very adequate but not overly long for big rigs. We camped here in a 40 RV and had very little space for our tow vehicle. The biggest drawback is it is cash or check only, no credit cards. It has lots of trees so satellite is difficult. The Wi-Fi is reasonable at our site. We would probably stay here again. We camped at Red Apple Campground in a Motorhome.

Shady Oaks Campground and Cabins, Orland, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a wonderful place to have as a base location for the area. The owners are super friendly and helpful. The upper sections are mostly seasonal but the lower area has pull through 50 amps and full hook ups. The park is extremely clean and neat. There is very little shade in the lower area, but spacing is more than ample. The Wi-Fi was marginal. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Shady Oaks Campground and Cabins in a Motorhome.

Hubbards Beach Campground & Cottages, Hubbards, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This is a campground you should avoid if ever in the area. The conditions are excessively cramped and the ambiance is horrible. The restrooms are very old, dilapidated, and unkempt. We paid for two days but we left and moved to another campground at Mahone Bay, even though we lost our money for the second day. We would not recommend staying here. We camped at Hubbards Beach Campground & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Linwood Harbour Campground, Linwood, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

The previous reviews were again pretty accurate. The road from the west is bumpy but from the east it is better. Wi-Fi was strong but didn't lock up a little. It is billed as ocean view but that is a serious stretch. There is a view in the distance of water from the bay. Pull-through sites are mostly level but not the others. Very small park but friendly with decent spacing between sites. Road noise was not a problem as previously stated. Low water pressure was the biggest issue for RVs. We would stay here again. We camped at Linwood Harbour Campground in a Motorhome.

Vacationland RV Park & Family Campground, Brackley Beach, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

The previous reviewers could not have been more accurate. The park is old and facilities are unkempt. As stated, the owners appear to be trying to maximize their return and not putting any money back into the park. To say there is Wi-Fi is a stretch. Overnight campsites are too close and conditions too crowded. This is primarily a seasonal type camp. We would not stay here again. We camped at Vacationland RV Park & Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Camping Transit, Levis, Quebec

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great place to stay to visit Quebec. The sites are level with 50 amps, but have side by side hookups that can make for close quarters. The Wi-Fi was outstanding. This is just a good place to base camp but not great for fun relaxing. The staff speaks enough English to understand and answer questions. There is a free shuttle to the ferry to Quebec. We would stay again. We camped at Camping Transit in a Motorhome.
