GrandView CampResort & Cottages, Moodus, Connecticut

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this campground for a few days over Columbus weekend. Our site was gravel but we sunk in and had to relevel twice. They did get an unusually large amount of rain a couple of days prior to our stay, so that probably contributed to the issue. We very much enjoyed our stay and even got a fireside story from one if the hosts. We would definately stay here again. We camped at GrandView CampResort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Melville Pond Campground, Portsmouth, Rhode Island

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was in the lower section and it was very nice. It was level with a picnic table and fire ring. The cable at our site was not watchable but we got TV over the air and we did get our satellite to work. We very much enjoyed our time here and would stay here again. We camped at Melville Pond Campground in a Motorhome.

Peppermint Park Camping Resort, Plainfield, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This campground seemed to have mostly well kept permanent trailers. Our site was large, level and grass. Everyone was nice. Our only complaint is that they have coin pay old style showers. Really folks, its 2018! Theres a nice pool and playground. We would stay here again if we are ever in the area. We camped at Peppermint Park Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Shady Shores Campground, Fair Haven, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older campground with mostly permanent trailers. The campground is right on Lake Ontario and our site had a very nice clear view of the lake. The site was grass with a cement patio. The showers were the older type but very clean. The owners are very nice. We enjoyed the beach area at sun up and sun down. We would stay here again. We camped at Shady Shores Campground in a Motorhome.

Maple Ridge Campground (formerly Beaver Ridge Family Camping), Lakeville, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This is a family friendly campground that has a large pool filled with happy screaming kids. The kids were having fun driving golf carts all around the campground. Some of the sites are "buddy" sites whereas you share your "yard" with a your next door neighbor which is nice for families and friends to camp together. The interior roads are mostly dirt which makes the camper dusty. The showers had no water when we tried to take a shower, so we didn't try that again. They have WiFi, but we had no WiFi at our site. The campground was full which is probably why our site had broken plastic ware, cigarette butts and general garbage. In the fire pit there were melted soda bottles. We most likely would find a different place to stay next time we find ourselves in the area. We camped at Maple Ridge Campground (formerly Beaver Ridge Family Camping) in a Motorhome.

Kewaunee RV & Campground, LLC, Kewaunee, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in this park for a few days and very much enjoyed our stay. The sites are close but not on top of each other. Each site has a fire ring and a picnic table. The owners are very friendly and helpful. He is a sculptor so there's these beautiful and interesting metal sculptures thru out the park. These are new owners and they are making improvements throughout the park. There is a large yard where you can walk your dog. They have a heated pool that we didn't try. We unhooked our tow car at the entrance because the site was a little too tight to swing our MH into. Our tow car fit behind the MH sideways. We would stay here again if we find ourselves in the area. We camped at Kewaunee RV & Campground, LLC in a Motorhome.

Burlington Bay Campground, Two Harbors, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in one of the newer tiered campsites in the upper tier. We had a picnic table and fire ring on our site which were in the front of the site so that you have an unobstructed view of the lake. We also had a beautiful view of the water from our front window. The deer come into the park in the evening. We used our satellite for TV and the wifi signal was strong but very slow. Verizon worked well. The showers in the new bathhouse must do not have curtained dressing areas so if you use them be prepared for your towel/clothes to get wet. There's a beach area across the road and a very nice paved walking path next to Lake Superior. It's a little pricey but we would stay here again if ever in the area. We camped at Burlington Bay Campground in a Motorhome.

Governors' RV Park and Campground, Casselton, North Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

My DH and I stayed in this CG for 2 nights while visiting Fargo. The park is right off I94 which makes it convenient for an overnight stay. Its connected to the Days Inn so you register inside the hotel. You have access to the indoor pool which looks to be nice. The wifi worked well for us. The sites themselves are hard and level gravel. We had a pull thru site with a grassy area next to us, but that grassy area is used as a back-in site. There's only one picnic table, so we shared it with our neighbor (who used it to dry their sneakers). Due to the closeness of the sites we could not put out our awnings. We would have moved further forward but the water hookup is at the far end of the site and we didn't have a long enough hose. There is a big field to walk your dog and for the most part it was clean. The showers are atrocious. Not sure what other parks are in the area, we would not stay here again. We camped at Governors' RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

North Park Campground, Dickinson, North Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

My DH and I stayed in this CG for a few days while visiting Theodore Roosevelt National Park. First of all, the staff member in the office was very friendly and helpful. She escorted us to our site. To our dismay, it was a "buddy" site, i.e., you share the small grassy area with your neighbor. The grassy area is just wide enough for the 2 picnic tables. The sites are hard pack gravel and dirt. It was longer than our motorhome and tow. There's a nice tree line path to walk your dog where we saw quite a few few jackrabbits. This park has easy access to the highway. The WiFi was great while we were there. We camped at North Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Heartland RV Park & Cabins, Hermosa, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

My DH and I stayed at this CG for a week. The employees were extremely nice and helpful. They are expanding the campground to add tons more sites so there was dust (and mud) throughout the sites. The small grassy dog walk area always had some dog poop in it (what's wrong with some people?) Although its listed in the regulations (and is common decency) to clean up after you pets, maybe some signs and poop bags could help the situation? Our site was long enough for our RV but we needed to park our car across the road which was not far at all. We loved the various activities this area has to offer and very much enjoyed our time here. We camped at Heartland RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Robidoux RV Park, Gering, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

My DH and I stayed in this RV park for a few days while visiting Svotts Bluff. Our site was concrete and level. The site had a concrete patio with a picnic table. It was also spacious. There a large fenced in park which our dog loved. We left him off leash when we were alone but made sure all the gates were closed. The showers were clean but the curtain of the curtained off dressing area was not wide enough to close all the way. The cable didn't work for us. We loved the view from our front window of Scott's Bluff. We would stay at this park again. We camped at Robidoux RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Legacy of the Plains museum is fantastic. Also visit the grave of Rebecca Winters. The view from the top of Scott's Bluff is breathtaking.

Cedar Hill State Park, Cedar Hill, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

My DH and I stayed in this park for a week. The site was very spacious with a very large back area. The site was asphalt and hard but not very level. The grass was not cut and in areas on our site the grass was knee high. The restroom/showers were buggy and there was a tarantula living in the ladies shower area. The water here smells like sulfur. Our site was very quiet and we were able to enjoy a fire in the fire pit. We ended up with an ant infestation so we probably will not stay here again. We camped at Cedar Hill State Park in a Motorhome.

DiamondJacks Casino and Resort, Bossier City, Louisiana

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

My DH and I stayed here for an overnight stop. The site was a concrete pad which was level and had a grassy area with a picnic table. The FHU work fine. The grassy area to walk your dog had garbage and dog poop in it. Also there's a train that runs right next to the park which was very noisy trying to sleep. There's no restroom. But the price good. We camped at DiamondJacks Casino and Resort in a Motorhome.

Pontchartrain Landing, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

My DH and I stayed at this park over memorial weekend so it was understandably full. There's a shuttle from the park into new Orleans which we used and loved. The sites are level and hard so we had no trouble leveling. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but they looked great. The showers were also great. Our dog enjoyed the little fenced off leash dog area. The entire park is gravel so it's very dusty. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.

Natchez Trace RV Park, Tupelo, Mississippi

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

My DH and I stayed in this Park for a few days while visiting Tupelo. Our site was roomy but other sites may be close. There's a small pool which we enjoyed. Our dog enjoyed the nature walk (make sure you spray up for mosquitos and ticks). There's no bath house but in the office, there's a bathroom with a shower. No cable or wifi. While we were there, there were thunderstorms so our Verizon service was sketchy. The owners are very nice and we very much enjoyed our time there. We camped at Natchez Trace RV Park in a Motorhome.
